Tim Curry talks with Meredith Vieira on The View and answers the question of the day 'What's the most embarrassing thing your parents ever did to you. 'If you were the devil I would pay to go to hell....'
He's lived in America all these years but Tim Curry can never be confused for anything but an Englishman! :) He seems a polite enough man but intensely private. He never divulges anything about himself.
I’m still so heartbroken about him. He shouldn’t have had that awful stroke, so loved and iconic, so amazing that he didn’t like the limelight and didn’t become the Hollywood “stereotypical star “
@@ladyrose7793 omg yes! The original pilot made me want to watch and then they changed it And I was like noooooooo because the small town thing was so much better
Speaking of villains, I loved him as Rooster in ANNIE with Carol Burnett; Long John Silver in Muppets Treasure Island; Bill Sikes in a tv version of OLIVER TWIST with George C Scott; he DID play the Devil in the movie LEGEND, but my favorite is when he played the evil cardinal in the THREE MUSKETEERS remake with Keifer Sutherland and Rebecca DeMornay.
I rediscovered Over the Top not long ago. It was a major flashback, as I remember the opening with Tim on the piano with Annie Potts - literally, on the piano. After watching the episodes available, it was hit and miss. Typical ABC comedy for the time, with the exception of the Michael J. Fox years of Spin City. The pilot is special. I found it the best incarnation of the show, and it really had potential. He and Potts were great together. It's a shame it was a victim of a network tryst.
I think Steve carells role killed the show for me... all the constant yelling was irritating. but I really enjoyed the show after watching it for the first time last week, I was shocked it only lasted 3 episodes, but I do love anything Tim is in, that I've seen, no matter how bad its perceived by a general audience
Comment 100-you can watch all the Over The Top episodes including two different pilots that are very different. Tim was also incredible in the series Wiseguy. Tim is incredible.
You know I like when Tim Curry play as a good villain in some great movies when he played as those different characters. And his laugh really gets me when he play as the bad guy in the movies.
A movie came up on a thumbnail here on RU-vid with Tim Curry - Wolfgirl. I had never heard of it. Tim plays a carnival owner of 'freaks' who tries to give them a refuge from society, and a girl who can turn into a wolf.
Oh my stars!! The way the women are behaving...VERY L.A.!! Exceedingly complimentary (schmoozy)! 1 characteristic of LA people involved in show business... NEVER Got used to that, nor did I acquire any sort of appreciation for it. That's alright... Tim Curry shines all the more in this sweet interview!
Put Tim Curry in HP Fantastic Beasts Series , he can play a Brit Wizard who happens to require the use of a chair. Three more FB films to go , give this Master British actor a spot in the Wizarding World! Films
Meredith: "If you were the devil, I'd pay to go to hell." Tim: "That's going on my resume." (Would be a pretty perfect epitaph on his tombstone when he dies, too.)
Id love to hang out with Tim curry do some garding , have some wonderful coversations. I really love everything he does. I cant watch it bc scary movies freak me out.
I actually heard he was terrified of clowns and that when he was getting make up done for pennywise someone had put a mirror in and the person almost got fired
At the end, Star Jones tells a story about her mom going to her grade school because a teacher had put hands on her and bruised her arm. She told her " if you ever touch my child like that again I will knock you into tomorrow!" And that from then on the entire school staff said "don't mess with Star! Her Momma is CRAZY!" It's my personal policy to leave dumb asses that cross me and mine questioning my sanity as well! If they see you are NUTTS they will leave you alone!
