Ramon Santigo, he campaigned for Pres Obama openly. In the country music field it is dangerous to reach out to different races. Most people who listen to this music are very closed minded.
@@joannbair3166 I'm sure there are a lot of close minded people everywhere but since he took that chance, it speaks to his character. Thanks for.sharing that info.
@@joannbair3166 There are closed minded people EVERYWHERE, but music is UNIVERSAL. Music is the one thing that should brings folks together. Country Music is a melting pot of different styles and influences from Irish folk songs to the Blues... Hank Williams is considered to be one of the forefathers of country music and he was taught to play and sing by a black man Rufus "Tee Tot" Payne... people have a misconception of country music that the fans are all mindless and racist 3 toothed inbred hillbillies wearing wife beaters- but it just isn't true. Yes, you do have those folks, but you have racist idiots who like any kind of music. The artist who had a number one hit with this song was a Mexican American named "Freddy Fender" who was loved by country music fans all over the world. One of Country Music's biggest legends was a black man Charley Pride, whom was also loved and revered by folks all over the world and was one of RCA's top selling artists of all time. When the king of soul Mr. Ray Charles released his album "Modern Sounds of Country and Western Music", his peers said to him "why are you playing their music"?? implying that country music was "white music"... to which Mr. Charles replied "Music is universal, if I like it then it is my music too" and that Album was Ray Charles top selling album of all time. So the words "most who listen to this music are closed minded" is in itself a closed minded statement. BTW, campaigning for President Obama? How does that even fit in to what you are trying to say here? Who cares? Obama is a politician, voting or not voting for or supporting or not supporting someone's policies doesn't make anyone a racist. Obama's skin color is inconsequential... we need to stop mixing race into everything. If I vote, or don't vote for someone, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the color of their skin, in fact that isn't a thought that would even enter my mind until someone puts it there like you just did. I vote based on policy that I feel will effect myself and my community-if I feel that someone is supporting policy that will positively impact my family and my community, then they will have my vote... I could give a hoot in hell what the color of their skin is, even bringing that into it is infantile.
Tim, I’m a100% Mexican, definitely I want to thank you for this amazing interpretation! The mariachi sounds great and your voice is amazing! I hope you sing more Spanish/Mexican/American songs!
As a Mexican-American I’m honored to see Mr. Tim McGraw render tribute to the Mariachi and to integrate it with his amazing talent and voice. Looking forward to more of his great in the future.
I have lived among Mexicans on both sides of the border for over 20 years. Most of them are happy and smiling most of the time..like the love I Iost after he was in an accident in January. I was never so happy in my life.. 😊 💖

Love How Tim Sang Freddy's Song With The Same Passionate And Beautiful Vocals Freddy Once Sang" Thank You Tim For The Awesome Love You Shared With All Who Loved Freddy ❤️
Antonio Sanchez Actually, Texicans were Anglo-American residents from Mexican Texas. Mexican settlers were referred to as Tejanos. Either or, it was just a word I came up while commenting lol☺️ But, thank you!
Dad used to play this his 91 Vette when I was a kid. He and my grandmother raised me on classic country. Tim you made Freddy my late father and I very happy. Thank you sir!!
Growing up in Texas I was a big Freddy fender fan is a little girl and my mom and dad used to play him all the time now Tim McGraw plays it and brings back good memories thanks Tim well done
What happened to "si te quire de verdad Y te da felicidad Te deseo lo mas bueno pa'los dos Pero si te hace llorar A mime puedes hablar Y estare contigo cuando treste estas"? I just knew tim was gonna throw the spanish verses an chorus in there..I mean with the mariachi band an all..I really was looking forward to hearing tim do the whole song, spanish an english..Js
Yes, I've been saying this for years. Songs of folklore, country, meager poor living. If you put the lyrics next to each other, the subjects are trains, ranches, horses, growing up poor, alcohol, heartbreak, new love, growing old and dying. Growing up in south Texas, I had the best of both worlds.
@@slowmo338 Indeed. I grew up in Houston and I feel the same way. Recently I came across Willie Nelson singing with Little Joe...some of it in Spanish, too. Blew me away that Willie is a Little Joe fan.
@Fun Fact Crazy. Country music is an off shoot of old European music brought over in the 1600-1700's. The southern accent is a form of the old british , Scottish and irish accents. Look at irish music.. Thats whete it came from. Now stop being racist.
Tim McGraw is, Great Country singer, The man has class, Heart, and does things his way. A great example of an American. He loves his country and cares about all his fellow Americans. It,s not surprising he's known and has fans all over this Nation.
😍 this was my Nana's favorite song. She had Freddie's tapes in her car and we always listened to them. Thank you for the reminder that shes still here with us in spirit
Awesome!! I love Freddie Fender!! I saw him in Natchez Ms in the 90's I love Tim McGraw even better!! Never heard anyone cover him before. You aced it!!
Well I ain't nobody but I just recorded this cover. If my mother was alive she would have loved it. Tim does allright. But yeah missed the the verse that was important.
I've just received word from great humble people starting from North Ossetia-Alania, working its way thru West Virginia, to Texas, and ending in Michoacán, Mx. "That if you don't like tacos. Then I'm Nacho Type"
This is the beauty of música 🙌 thank you Tim! This melted my MexicanAmerican Heart. If people would understand the love we have for both countries there wouldn’t be so much hate! 🇲🇽🤍🇺🇸
@@tobyjonesroberts9264 I am sure many performers could do it well and maybe even better but i am sure you will agree that there will be only on Freddie. Thanks for the reply.
Omg why am i just finding this out about him!! It makes me love him so much more!! My grandma put me on Freddy and this is definitely one of my favorites and he DID THAT!! 🔥🔥
Tim I'm a big fan.... would like to tell you I'm a single dad of 4 kids..and was diagnosed with prostate cancer... your song... live like you were dying... gave me hope to keep going.... thank you
He and the other guys are excellent, loved it, me and a friend of mine played this song on the jute box for like 20 times straight and the owner unplugged it , but we loved it ❤.
Love this! Texas and Mexican. Great combo. I’d like to be listening this at night, under the stars, eating good Mexican food, with sparkling lights and people dancing in the background.
I’m not a Tim McGraw fan, but after hearing that he is a Freddy Fender and Texas Tornado fan that might change!!! Rest In Peace Freddy Fender & Doug Sahm!!! ☮️🖖🏽
This is the most amazing song duo I've heard. Every instrument represents the same music no matter what continent, language, artist sings music and musical notes are universal. Great job everyone
He is an American Legend. Here he shows the world just how romantic, poetic, lovely and beautiful Mariachi Music truly is. Now I'm a huge fan of his. Thank you Tim for singing this beautiful song with a mariachi song. This literally brought tears to my eyes.
Music has no color buddy. Check out Muscle Shoals FAME studio. They were white guy session players recording black artist back in the 50's in the middle of Alabama. That's really where it ended. Not with Lil Timmy singing one Freddie Fender song.
Tim mcgraw just moved up in my book. Remembering one of the greats Freddy fender! And also the Texas tornadoes 🌪 who were you thinking of. Good job tim almost as good as “el Rey” by George strait. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pepe Aguilar can sing anything! Love his voice. There are so msny great Mexican artists. My favorite is Marco Antonio Solis. When I first went to Mexico I could say "por favor" " gracias" and "otra cerveza por favor". Listening to Los Bukis with Solis as the lead singer was amazing. When they sang a sad song I felt like crying. When he sang a happy song I wanted to dance. So I started hearing words and looked them up in a Spanish dictionary. Hence my begining of learning Spanish
Love this grew up listening to my mom playing Freddy’s records. When I go home I see him on the water tower in San Benito texas as I’m headed home to see my mom! Great memories! Thank you Tim love your music and last concert with your wife! In Houston Texas yeah! Dam corona virus 😭 yeah had to bring that up!
I love Tim McGraw don't get me wrong he's easy on the eye and he's a great singer but I am so so so so sorry nobody sings this song like Freddy Fender.
Loved me some Freddy Fender back in the days...Seen him in concert in Watertown,NY back in the 70's & will never forget it because I got to go on stage & meet him ...One of my very favorite artist...Thank you Tim great job
Country music never fade, i always play these songs while driving and traveling a long winding and rugged terrain roads going hometown here in the cordellera provinces 🤠🌹🌄🍓🐓🐴🌈🌲🌳🌵🛤️👍
Absolutely Love It! Freddy Fender’s music was always playing in our home 👍🏼♥️ one of my Mother’s favorite singers.... Tim McGraw you sang it beautiful 👏🙏🏻
Mr. Tim McGraw is awesome in this song, and with the best back up singers, The Mariachi Band. At my son’s wedding I had a 10 piece Mariachi Band to sing during the cocktail hour. The cocktail hour was to be a 2 hour electrifying songs sung by the mariachi, but I had to pay for another hour because they were awesome. They received a five minute applause, They were Dynamite. I am so proud to be a Mexican American .
That's a musician right there you keep growing as a musician no matter what culture it is musics for everybody iMusic is beautiful thank you Tim McGraw paying tribute to Freddy Fender God bless you my friend and God bless your family
@@Sleepvroffical Kind of reminds of AOC when was speaking in a Black Drawl Accent when speaking to a Black Organization. Or like Kaepernick the last few times speaking, the same way as AOC.
