Okay, this video just led me down a path that I just _need_ to share. So, growing up in Maine, I would see a lot of ads for our own local personal injury lawyer, Joe Bornstein. He would do ads about slimeball executives trying to avoid paying for damages, only to freak out when they hear the name Joe Bornstein brought up. Because when you hire Joe Bornstein, you "Tell them you mean business!" And seeing this video, I thought "Oh cool, a neat little relevant anecdote I can share here, even if he didn't become a meme like Tim Misny did." But then I looked up those ads to refresh my memory. And I found out that the guy in the ads who I always thought was Joe Bornstein himself, wasn't. It was Robert Vaughn, an actor who did ad reads for personal injury lawyers all across America. The entire ad campaign was totally generic, and the actors just switched out the name of the law firm for every client. Even the "Tell them you mean business" catchphrase! And learning this makes me feel like my entire life has been a lie.

The only mistake is that the thread explained the context beforehand If I just saw... the billboard of a guy suffestively staring into your soul and had a beforehand knowledge that "This is explainable, I'm just not in the loop" it would be even funnier

A few years ago, I was driving my now 16yo niece home, just listening to music and chatting, and we were talking about the absurdity of the Tim Misny billboards which we had both noticed independently, and without any awareness of the meme culture of it, laughing about it and how he seems to never age... until this very moment, despite being chronically online and having lived in ohio for all my 25 years, I was not aware of those tv ads or just how deep the meme rabbit hole goes. I'm sending this to her immediately 🤣

I have a fraternal twin brother, and we would occasionally get asked if we were identical... I would generally ask which of us they thought was trans. A friend of mine lives in Southern New England, and there's a lawyer by the name of Jim Sokolov whose slogan in his TV commercials is "I'm Jim Sokolov. I fix problems," in this vaguely threatening "mob fixer" sort of tone. Like he's the kind of guy you call to "make problems go away".

I heard about him for the first time some weeks ago, when I saw one of his "you know what I do" posters in an Emkay video. Someone had added some graffiti to it, so it read: "I'm Tim Misny You know what I do Lick Balls"

As a Northeast Ohio resident, I was not aware of most of the things beyond the billboards, but parking in this one parking garage in Cleveland and having a 50/50 chance of ending up staring directly at a Tim Misney billlboard was enough for it to become a meme in my family. This then got followed up by the more recent billboards just being absolutely hilarious to us as a result.

hope there will not be a Misnypocalypse. It'd suck to have the end of the world coming from an ambulance chasing lawyer.
