After this fight, I believe Mendoza will get a few more chances. He’s gonna be the guy that you have to beat to even think about a title fight. A Gabe Rosado type.
Some fighters just have that pure skill and technique that for even someone who never watches combat sports could just tell that this guy is deadly. Tszyu has that man his timing is crazy and his awareness and eyes are insane man
@@desotohybrid2175Shakur and haney have professional survival skills. Shakur can at least place shots, haney is just big and lanky with good feet. Saying tank is obviously "so much more skilled" than tszyu at a higher weight class is also corny. Tank has skill like every top 10 boxer in a weight class, but also has a giant head and iron chin for those smaller weight classes, he also can be down 10 rounds like wilder and still land that one shot because he has that power. Acting like his skill is just so special compared to tzsyu is retarded, because he has gifts to take it and dish it compared to the other small guys he fights. Bud has special skills yes, but even then idk where this random comparison came from? Just hating then naming off a bunch of smaller black fighters. Cornball.
Great fight. Mendoza is tough!!! Good for Tszyu to step in w someone who isnt completely overwhelmed by his power. He'll need more than just power to compete at elite levels.
He honestly only just needs to work being a better finisher as he can get a little reckless when he has his opponent hurt. There were opportunities for him to go to the body more, but he is getting so much better each fight he'll no doubt one of the best finishers in the division.
Fighter’s like Mendoza are what keeps boxing honest bcoz they give it their all, and always make the fight hard for any Champion 🏆🥇🥈🥉🏅🏆 they fight. So I’d like to say thank you 🙏 Mendoza for your time and heart ❤️ that you showed throughout the whole fight. Keep your head up and soon you will win that title you’ve dreamed of and worked so hard for God Bless you and your Familia…..
Tim Tszyu is a gentle champion.americans don't see Tim as a fighter personified in their eyes because of the number of renowned fighters in their midst.dont take your eyes off him.tim is already in your back yard.tszyu is cleaning out one boxer one by one till he will the last man standing.
I love how Tszyu wants to knock you out. He isn't trying to let it go to the judges. Also he is perfectly comfortable trading because he feels he is going to hit you harder than you hit him.
That was about as complete a victory as I have seen. Credit to Mendoza He was dead yet stuck it through. I cannot see anybody around Tim's weight who could challenge him.
Some of that was his counter punching against a slower fighter he doesn’t move his feet so his defense will always be limited Especially when he’s attacked on angles
Porter's right, Tszyu will have difficulties with Crawford's style. His head movements and footwork need to improve first. He might have fighting chance against Spence but even that, Spence probably has a slight edge at this point.
Tszyu will wipe the floor with Charlo. Charlo will need to pull out a type of performance he's never pulled out before. I'm actually starting to really appreciate the skill and subtle artistry of Tszyu. I think he will supersede the greatness of his dad and I think he's got at least two more weight divisions he could grow into and conquer maybe 5 years down the line. Would love to see him rise in weight and fight someone like Benavidez.
Mendoza is not even a step up in competition, and he couldnt finish him! Mendoza had no waist movement, no head movement, ate almost every punch and still couldnt finish him!! Charlo will not be as easy as you think! He still yet to step up in competition, you got guys like, Ramos, Lubin, Fundora will be trouble as well, Castano! Tszyu has a lot to prove in the division!
Fundora also gets knocked out by both they are much better than Tim, Fundora and Mendoza level, reach wont help him vs Spence, Crawford will counter him to pieces.
How is he gonna KO him when his movement is a problem? Tszyu is good no doubt but he needs more than his performance to beat BUD. And don't forget BUD is a magnificent counter puncher. Seen a lot of holes against Mendoza, BUD won't spare you. How many times has BUD been knocked down?
There's a reason why bud dont move up cause no matter how skill you are against c and d fighters your not going to take power shots like he does at 147, all he gotta do is move and stop talking,,, bud is great at 147 butmove up and hell see that hes not all that,.
But never moved up because he wanted to be 50 and o and break the record which is its 80 o and all and then he cries now that he ain't got no money cuz he never took the big fights and moving up
Brian gave it all he got, great heart, solid chin, Tim just & shoulders above him. Charlo gonna come up with some reason not to fight him, but id love to see the match ups between him & Castano & Fundra
Crawford isnt special bro he beat 1 man plus spene wasn't in 3 accidents b4 that he beat a handicapped stfu, plus bud is old now rim is younger, a reason ur Boi wants canelo ass whooping and payday
It'll be a fun to see Tim vs Crawford. The kids impressive. I don't think he'll be more aggressive than Crawford as he is with others, so he'll need an alternate strategy. Crawford is a master strategist on top of his balanced power & quickness. Experience is the difference here. I gotta go with Crawford, Tim's on his way, if Crawford steps down.
I hope this helps folks contextualize Tszyu's power, bc if he had the kind of pop that people credit him with, Mendoza would have been in the front row by the sixth round. Tim was landing full extension, fully planted, full follow through bombs, and Mendoza just soaked them. And it's not like Mendoza's not tough, but some guys go their whole careers without landing shots this clean in a title fight, and Tim just could not get more than a stagger out of him. It was a good showing by Tszyu, though, more composed than normal, only left his chin hanging out a few times, an improvement across pretty much all measures. Figures he fights well, and goes the distance with a tough opponent, and people are on here complaining he's been exposed.
Definitely the smartest criticism of Tim's hype I've read yet. I think this fight went the distance for a few reasons. Mendoza was very effective at minimising damage in the first half of the fight by backing off each time Tim was about to counter. First 3 rounds, Tim looked for openings, but didn't actually reveal his game plan of sustained damage til the 4th. By the 7th the damage was becoming obvious and Tim knew he'd win on points even if he didn't find the opening he needed. It's also possible that Tim was advised not to rely on a KO this time as Mendoza is far less reckless than Harrison or O'Campo, and Tim also needs more long-game experience if he wants to continue his current trajectory.
@@jealouscraig That last bit, I think you're spot on, Tim being told not to try for the KO, may very well have been the advice. Mendoza's got some spine to him, good chin, and he can certainly throw - handling him was enough of a task. At the same time, Tim got those looks, and it felt to me like he landed them. Tim's got an interesting blend of his dad's stony, indomitable nature, and his own, brassy swagger, and I think it usually serves him well - especially in fights where he cant put the other guy down. If he starts tucking his chin, and really invests in some defensive responsibility, he's gonna win a ton of fights before he stops.
Tim Tzsyu systematically picked Mendoza apart one piece at a time. It looked like he was just toying with and carrying him all twelve rounds just to beat him all night. All you seen all night is Mendoza's head popping back.😅😅😅
Only you would believe that. Brian cracked his head several times. If Tim could’ve put him away …he would have. Your fooling yourself big time to hype up your guy. It was a great match. Tim got the best of him…that’s it
It's almost always... When for some reason, the original matched fighter needs to back out and a last minute replacement comes along, it's the replacement fighter who ends up winning the match. It's just like you've reviewed for 6 months in preparation for a History exam. Then, 2 weeks prior the actual date of the exam, it is announced that the exam will now be for Math. Come to thnk of it... Spinks vs.Ali (Feb. 15, 1978) Douglas vs.Tyson (Feb. 11, 1990), Rahman vs. Lewis (April 21, 2001), Pacquiao vs.Ledwaba (June 23, 2001), Ugas vs. Pacquiao (August 21, 2021), then now, Fundora vs. Tszyu.
Tim right now is the fighter of the year, but i will also be looking on Nov 16 to see if Navarrete can KO Robson Concecao, cause both of these guys have 3 times this year and both have the most impressive victories.
Mendoza wasnt throwing. Wasnt moving. Wasnt covering up. Wasnt clincing. Mendoza just came for a check it looked like to me. This is not a championship fight either.
Mendoza did himself proud. As for Tszyu, he'll never be the killer his dad was. But I like what I see so far. I doubt Jermell will get anywhere near him. He's probably getting fitted with a fake cast right now.
Tim is too slow, BUD beats him anyday. He doesn't have what it takes to beat BUD. Power alone can't, you'll have to outthink him to beat him and I don't see Tim doing that. He can never outthink BUD and he'll probably be a good opponent though but won't do better than most of the fighters BUD has faced coming up
Watch it in slow mo, you can see his fist connect first with Tim's nether region before it comes up to his waist. Maybe not a direct low blow, but it definitely connected. Video is there for everyone to see lol
