Vigil’s work reminds me of Mike Grell’s late seventies/early eighties work. Muscle tone and drapery were Grell’s wheel house. Great work from Vigil, and a great vid from you guys!

I love Tim Vigil's work. I have several signed issues of Faust and one of his portfolio's signed. Met him in at a couple of shows in Atlanta back in the '90s. In fact the first time I met him would have been in '92. I was graduating high school and had to take my SAT's that morning before the convention. I rushed my SAT so I could get out as soon as possible and get to the show to meet him. Still made a 1060 on the tests but man I just could not wait to get out of there. He did a commission for a friend of mine a few years later. Its cool to hear you guys talk about him and his work. He and Bernie Wrightsen were probably my favorite comic artists. Just fantastic craftsmen. Sad that we lost Bernie. Thanks for showing this.

I remember my local comic shop owner RIch's Comics in Santa Clara , CA back when Faust was on the shelf....I must have been 13, and I went to pick it up..and the Shop keep told me "Hey kid...that may be a little to adult for you! You should put that down"

This is incredible. I would buy this as is. I'd be afraid the lettering and coloring would mess it up. Amazing. Anybody know how long it took him to do this? Not a big fan of the Catwoman tail, it looks real enough to make it kinda creepy.

Good god man, I was out of the loop on Vigil until now but holy shit. He’s next level and would make a great Batman artist. I wish DC would give him at least a black label limited series or something. I know they think seeing a breast in a Batman comic would tear their shining empire down but there’s so much potential for a darker Batman story in these pencils…

Psychology of duality in cartoon art is the art of precision and it looks like you got a gem there. Batman can be so dark it appeals to the shadows in the mind. I like the dynamic of Dr. Quinn and Thre Joker myself, seeing them interact is engrossing.

I unfortunately couldn't get past the 2nd issue of Faust. I struggled reading all that cursive and felt it was hard to follow. The art however, damn, Tim Vigil is an absolute force to be reckoned with. I dont think there's a single panel that I wouldn't frame and put on my wall, so im definitely gonna check this out!

Thanks for showcasing this Artist. As someone who grew up with underground comics, as well as the mainstream, I really appreciate what this guy is doing. Considiering the prevalence of porn so freely available on the internet, I see this work as a step forward, utilising and somehow subverting, it by putting in in the context of the Joker's drug-addled depravity. A kind of meta-commentary on our culture. As such, it's cutting-edge. I like the glimpses of your own output too, by the way. Once they your work reaches the take up that you need, it would be interesting to have a video of one of your own books too...(forgive me if you've already done this and I haven't caught onto it, yet.) But thanks again for the heads up, and keep up the good work!

For all of his excesses (and probably because of them), Vigil doesn't get NEARLY enough credit for being the astonishing sequential-graphic storyteller he is. You don't need words to figure out what's happening, and that's all too often a neglected skill in this field.

Superb craftsmanship, but gotta chuckle at the immature masturbatory sexploitation imagery in comic books. Then again, when I was pre-puberty I did take a keen interest in rare tiniest hints of side boobs and top of arse cracks in late 1960s / early 70s DC comics.
