Democratic vice presidential candidate will make his first campaign stop in Pennsylvania following his debate Tuesday evening against Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Republican vice presidential candidate.
Walz will be joined by Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) for a rally in York, Pennsylvania.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) launched a one-day bus tour through Pennsylvania on Wednesday, another effort that highlights Democrats’ focus on winning the Keystone State.
The tour was supposed to be the first time Walz and Vice President Harris campaigned in central Pennsylvania together - but deadly flooding and damage caused by Hurricane Helene took his running mate off the campaign trail. Harris will brief reporters later Wednesday from Georgia on the federal response to the storm.
Walz will instead be joined by Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who endorsed Harris in July after President Biden withdrew from the race. The bus tour also comes a day after Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, took to the debate stage against his GOP counterpart, Sen JD Vance (R-Ohio).
The candidates kicked off the debate with questions about Israel, Iran, flooding in the Southeast U.S. and climate change. The Minnesota governor went after Trump for rebuffing the expertise of economists, national security experts and scientists, and said presidents must seek advice from advisers around them.
Vance was asked how a Trump-Vance administration would pay for their plans, given that Trump's economic proposals are expected to grow the deficit.
Walz was the first to mention Springfield, Ohio, in reference to Trump and Vance spreading false claims about Haitian immigrants eating people's pets.
Tim Walz and JD Vance will face off in their first vice presidential debate on Wednesday morning India time. The debate will be moderated by Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan and will cover various topics. The 90-minute debate will take place at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.

Tim Walz has had a long political career but was largely unknown to voters outside of Minnesota. He gained national attention after being chosen by Kamala Harris as her running mate and joining the Democratic ticket during the Democratic National Convention, which took place from August 19 to August 22.
JD Vance, Trump's running mate and author of "Hillbilly Elegy", was elected to the US Senate in 2022 and sworn into office in January 2023, just two years before being selected as Trump's running mate.
