What we have here is a video that was taken in L'anse, MI, a small town in the upper peninsula. Its hard to tell in the video, but the severity of the slopes that this TimberPro is working on are as much as 60 percent! There was also a lot of rain causing the ground to be less than ideal.
This particular machine is running a Quadco 22b hot saw and has the standard 300hp Cummins engine. This setup with feller buncher booms has about 26' of reach and the machine stands at 10'4" wide and weighs in at around 62,000 pounds without the head.
We hope you enjoy!

Sweet machine! Why on some quadco heads are the accumulaters so close to the disc?
@TimberProInc
@TimberProInc 7 лет назад
06lbzduramax3500 Quadco makes this head in a 22c = accumulator arms higher and a 22b = accumulator arms lower. Some prefer the b and some the c.
@travistozier5907
@travistozier5907 4 года назад
Low accumulation arms hold bigger trees better but are slower. High accumulation arms are faster and better for biomass or smaller stem wood.

i was also thinking that he did not look overly comfprtable on that machine. but it looks like a sweet machine.
@TimberProInc
@TimberProInc 7 лет назад
This customer rolled this machine the week prior on this job causing him to be a little gun shy. That is why he doesn't look overly comfortable. He had some ground give way causing the machine to tip and roll over.

Al Stewart Agree, operator safety is number one. Operating any piece of equipment on steep ground is much harder and nerve racking than most people know.

I do see it’s a older gentleman running it but I would like to have more info about this job site like are the cable logging that or skidder dragging it with grapple I’m just not impressed with the operator at all and the only way to go is yellow paint man TIGERCAT, the 870 is heavy but nice with the leveling packaging it’s also over half million US dollars thx

Look at what his tracks are doing to the ground.
@ranchertrapperdieselbuilds3632
And? Itll be fixed? Not only that, if we don't go back and fix it 2 or 3 good rains you can tell they were there? Aaanndddd not to mention they'll plant grass seed and do alot for it I work on a strip mines, I hate hearing "oh God you're leveling the mountains" like yeah we hurt them so bad that when we are done we fix it tall and hi and flat on top were people can run cattle on it not like you could of ever done anything with it before!
@ranchertrapperdieselbuilds3632
Cant*
@ranchertrapperdieselbuilds3632
I hate hearing winey ass mother fuckers that know nothing about this line of work. Look what the tracks are doing to the ground? The dirt in the middle of the woods? That noone sees, hes barley digging 3 or 4 inches of it up a year later you'll never even be able to tell anything the earth takes care of itself. You wanna see the ground tore up come to a mine site. Were we have 200ft highwalls and there ain't no dirt left! But once again when we're done with that mountain that noone could ever do anything with anyway,, it'll be farm land with fresh vegetation and cattle on it, ponds and so on. You fucking idiot's need to get a grip. I gaurentee you use toilet paper and electricity so your just as much a part of all this! You think his tracks are hurting the ground... lol please. Look what YOU are doing to the earth.

One of the worst machines the Crawford's have built since the original 2518's. The difference being that the 2518 would climb when it was running, unlike the 735.
@patreekiller

they have a machine for about every application now. if the 735 doesn't work for you then you should have looked more into the other models.

This guy is a horrible operator. He likes to walk way to much. Made a huge hole on the bottom of the hill. He should sit in one place use that boom an rotating head to place the trees. Then just keep walking up the hill for the next drag. He is slow an creates unnecessary track wear
@edkeniston4786
@edkeniston4786 6 лет назад
Eddie Mason I wouldn't be so quick to blame the operator! We had a 735b that we loved! The boss sold it to get a 735c, an absolutely worthless piece of junk! No swing power, won't hold a tree, blows hoses and seals because the dealer has cranked the pressures trying to compensate for the poor design. And we're stuck with it until it has 5,000 hours on the meter.
@patreekiller
@patreekiller 5 лет назад
@@edkeniston4786 think you have something wrong. holding trees if you got different heads and have smaller cylinders on it. if its a quadco they have different size cylinders. the c series way out performs the b series. my c model has far more swing power then my b had they have a dedicated swing pump, its faster and more consistent flow. if your machine wont lift the same then you have something wrong. I can shovel some large oak trees up hill when my b model couldn't do it.
@edkeniston4786
@edkeniston4786 5 лет назад
patreekiller I'm well aware there was something wrong! But according to Anderson Equipment there was nothing they could do. When the hose bill got to $1500 a week we finally sold it and are now running a Tigercat 822c and couldn't be happier!

Lazy... This ground is too steep and soft for this type of equipment. Should have been handcut and cable skidded down. Trenching like this on a hillsides is what spins up the treehuggers and kills logging on public land. I hope you atleast went back in and bladed all the ruts out with a cat. BMPs are good, Mkay!!!!
