Today we continue our Cross Generation Battles.
It's the turn of the Enterprise F to face its 2 predecessors.
The Enterprise F is a heavily armoured ship. However the Enterprise E has quantum torpedoes and the Enterprise D can fire massive torpedo Volleys.
Will the Enterprise F's new technology prevail?
Played from both sides in Star Trek Bridge Commander Remastered.

The fact that the pure size of the Enterprise D allows it to overcome it's older technology and launch so many torpedoes at a time is probably the biggest hurdle here. I would say that you are struggling more for the sake that there isn't a big a technology gap between the D and E as there was between the C and D. I kinda want you to play that over again, but take control of the D and do full spread against the F and see how quickly you can end this fight.

The Odyssey would have wiped both ships with ease, it came out half a century after the Sovereign, its just not represented accordingly in the mod, probably because of the awfull Picard show using the design from the Star Trek online game but not in the timeline it is stated in the game, just as they did with their copy&paste armada of Inquiry class ships with Riker....that ship is much more advanced and came in service during/after the iconian war later on... somebody needs to stop giving the Star Trek online designs to those showrunners, i know they cant come up with original designs or ideas that are not bs, but pls limit the stupidity to the Picard series and leave other parts of the Trek universe alone...

Respect the D! 😂 Pretty surprised how well the Galaxy class's shields held up there. Think this is generally a bit unwinnable for the F.

Remember the time between the D and the E being in service was only 7 years, so there is almost no tech gap between them. The main difference is quantum and slightly better phaser array, and just slightly better regenerative shields. Post Nem would include ablative armor on the E. Stock galaxy vs stock sov would be like 10% difference in power. Its like the F is fighting 2 Galaxies or 2 Sovs. If the match up was a Venture refit galaxy and post nem sov it would be a blow out in their favor. The poor Ent-D in the show had its power scaled every episode from unbeatable to being instant KO'd depending on the story of the week, that really did a number on its reputation in the fandom.

Also recall the ENT-D underwent several refits during TNG (which seem to be done once every 3 or so years). Technologically speaking, there would be little difference between a Galaxy class of 2371 and Sovereign class of 2371 (except with the Sovereign maybe having a few more cutting edge systems like the Quantum torpedoes - but all of those would be integrated into the Galaxy class too shortly after Sovvies were released into service). And the F apparently succeeded the E after just 10 years of service. So, 2371 Galaxy-D and 2380 Sovvie-E vs 2381 Oddyssey-F The D probably would have struggled yes, but it was still a powerhouse. But if we assume the D remained in service, then it would get all the upgrades and refits of modern ships in its next scheduled refit cycle... so there's that.

Yeah, you were right. D was the biggest threat out of the two. I think it's number of torpedoes and damage were quite higher than the E. If you look at the footage, watch the numbers from D's torps on the F shields. :D Great fight!

I feel like you should've heeded Sun Tzu and gone after the Galaxy first. It's ability to spam torpedoes imo was what was hurting more than Sovereign's quantums.

I get the feeling Odyssey is more an improvement on the Galaxy's line of thinking than the Sovereign's. In other words, what I'm trying to say is the Sovereign is a warship with some deep exploration capacity, whereas the Galaxy and Odyssey were deep explorers with some battleship capabilities. (Also shifting the lore so the -F was launched almost a quarter century earlier than it's original lore stated probably impacted the outcome quite a bit too)

The Odyssey Class is pretty, but despite her looks, she's not actually a battleship. What you want is the Lexington class Terran Dreadnought Cruiser. That will satisfy your destructive longings like few others could. Odyssey Base with a fully refit hull of the Yorktown Subtype, with added Agony-upgraded Phaser arrays, an enlarged Warp Core, an omni-directional Quantum Torpedo Barrage Module, a Cyclical Quantum Slipstream Drive, and a spinal Agony Phaser Lance. If you want to kill someone, you make sure you buy Terran. Oh yes.

once you had disabled the Quantums, you should have gone for the sensors as the shields were down enough to make it quick to do so, instead of swapping over to the D immediatly. Would have reduced incomming fire that way so you could then focus on disabeling the D.

The Enterprise D and E defended their honour successfully. I was rooting for the Sovereign and Galaxy combo, I don't like the Odyssey, aesthetically it looks so wrong with the double neck. I know that when the Galaxy class came out, the TOS generation hated it because it looked wrong, but it grew on them. But the Odyssey isn't growing on me much. I'm putting it down to Leah Brahms' magic touch with the Galaxy class and the Borg scare with Sovereign just making 2 overpowered Enterprises in a row. I'm guessing Dr Brahms was having a day off when Odyssey went through the office.

You're right... you were doing very well against the Sovereign, but in the meantime, you have (Bill Murray's voice) one heavily armed recreational vehicle (normal voice) firing everything it has at you. 😄 (That was a line from the 1981 movie Stripes). And yes, the G is the ultimate war machine, but it will never be a flagship. The G is the size of the Prometheus, but with even better shields and more firepower.

Crazy results but the enterprise F was talking on two powerful ships with pretty powerful weapons arrays so even if this did happen unless you had the codes to take down the shields of who you are facing and lets say take target the warp core its still going to be a tough fight either way but that was a good fight

The version of Enterprise -D in this video is significantly buffed over the vanilla version which can fire four torpedos from the front and two from the aft. The F couldn't stand a chance under a constant barrage of photon torpedoes.

In ToS, Kirk's Enterprise is never mentioned as being the Federation Flag Ship. The only time it WAS called that was in the JJ films, so alternate timeline. Don't know that the B or C were ever referred to as the flag ship in canon. And if the C was, it was around 20 years between it's destruction and the launch of the D, so some other ship had to have been the flag ship during that period at least.

One thing about the Odyssey in BC that doesn’t make sense to me, none of the phaser arcs are capable of firing simultaneously like the Galaxy and Sovereign can. It’s a major strength of the Galaxy that can fire at least 2x at once in most arcs

😨This was unexpected Admiral.. gosh.. the Ent F and the Ent E was more powerful.. and the D.. wow.. Yes. a cloaking device.. ask Worf's contacts.. lol. Yes, the one in Picard.. was 20 year old ship with refit.. and the Ent G we all know and love was proper for the era.. since the Ent F was so big.. First time in battle seeing the D fire all phasers. wicked.. and the E, look how good it handled against the Scimitar.. I think the weapons yield was an issue... love the battle was unreal.. eeh.. !😊🖖

Well in Star Trek Online lore the Enterprise-F was launched in 2409 and was among the most powerful ships in the alpha quadrant, being capable of standing one-on-one with even Borg cubes. In Nu Trek lore it was launched nearly a quarter century earlier and was basically just a bigger Galaxy with some Sovereign influences added.

D may be older but not *that* old. Same generation crew still kicking. I think the number of torpedoes compensate for them being weaker. Damage output probably comparable because of that. Looks at 1:50. Torpedoes just raining down on that top shield.

I don’t know how I feel about this games portrayal of the E. In Nemesis, which *is* cannon,(despite how any of us may feel about it), we observe that it can launch photon torpedoes far faster that it does here.

I think Starfleet could really soup-up the Enterprise G if they want. Sure, the Neo-Constitution Class is not the biggest, but size has never been a metric for power necessarily. Throw a bigger warp core in there, slap some more armor on it, give it bigger shield generators. One can fit a lot of weapons in small packages (example: Cardassian Orbital Weapons Platforms). Give the G he latest phaser arrays, bigger torpedo launchers to double their spreads, equip them with the latest Type 2 Quantums, and maybe a Phaser Lance. The Enterprise G would rate from a medium cruiser to Battlecruiser.

The Ent G was not a pure science ship though, and it was refitted when becoming the Enterprise. I think the G would’ve surprised everyone if the Legacy show would’ve happened.

Part of the problem is the F is a lumbering whale compared to how maneuverable the E is. I also think the F isn't portrayed as powerful as it should be. The Nemesis Sovereign Refit had 9 torpedo launchers. Sure they aren't quite as good as the Galaxy class monsters, but 9 launchers are still viable. I could see the Odyssey class having dual forward quantums AND dual Galaxy forward torpedoes AND dual galaxy aft torpedoes. The Odyssey is huge and could easily run multiple galaxy class style launchers.

The technology gap between the E and F isn't large enough to afford the F a sizeable advantage that the D would tip the scale to almost or just short of an even fight. Fact is the Enterprise F versus either individually has the advantage. But versus both, not a chance really.

I think people are underestimating the Galaxy class too much. Its a powerhouse. Tech to tech, it would basically get all the same gadgets and weapons of a Sovereing class in the next closest refit shortly before Sovereign being commissioned (or right after). In that regard, the ship would still have frequent upgrades to its Warp core, Shields and weapons (including improved Phaser power output and newer Photon torpedoes). Its not that weapons development between the ENT-E and F slowed down... I just don't think there would be much of a difference between all of those ships in firepower with all the regular refits in between. That said, the ENT-E was apparently in service for about 10 years before the F took its place... so time scale wise, not enough time would have passed. The F was in service up until early 25th century... so if you're comparing the F at the start of its service, vs a Sovereign and Galaxy class ships (both of which would have been refitted several times before the F was released into service)....

This is weirdly what I was expecting. Just F v E I think that the F wpuld win but with a galaxy class also attacking is just enough to tip the scales. Also I do think that weapons wise F probability isn't as far away for the E as the E was to the D. Both E and F have simuler shapes and armourments, unlike the D, which didn't have quantums and wasn't really designed for battle, despite being very capable.

5:09 The NCC-1701-H, as I envision it, would absolutely be the flagship. 5:12 From what I understand the actions of the NCC-1701 and her crew(s) earned the USS Enterprise the position of the flagship. In FASA she was publicly hailed as the "Champion of the Federation" after returning from her last 5-year mission (pre-refit). According to the TNG Technical Manual her logo was adopted throughout the fleet in 2277.

I dunno, I just feel like the F way underperformed. Statistically speaking, the Odyssey was a much more powerful ship. This didn't reflect its armoring, or the fact that from a side position you should be facing well... here's some official stats on weaponry. "The Odyssey class also is equipped with nineteen mark-XII phaser arrays, four variable torpedo launchers, two phaser cannon turrets, and two heavy phaser cannon mounts." - Mem Alpha.

I can buy this result. Even with major tech investment, the idea that there's infinitely steady return on tech development seems a reach. The Sovereign was a warship that lacked many of the scientific/diplomatic facilities the Galaxy had in spades. The Odyssey class DOES have those features, which is probably the biggest mission profile improvement it offers over the Sovereign, rather pure firepower.

I'm surprised that the Enterprise-F wasn't able to take out the D AND E as quickly as it should. Especially the number of years between the E and the F. So that threw me off a little. I will have to agree that it is POSSIBLE that when the F was built their advancements in weapons development slowed down. I would have tried to take out the D's sensors first then gone after the E. I know the E was a bigger threat because of their quantum torpedo launcher. Still though...would have made more sense to gone after the D first in order to get them disabled.

I think the problem is the D is unrealistic; it was never shown to be able to fire ten torpedoes, we only ever saw 4 at a time, and if that kind of launched existed, why would it not be on every single ship. And saying the D, the Luxury-Apartment-Block-in-Space was a bigger threat than the E, a ship designed to lead fights against the Borg for me shows the balance was busted.

I think in this case you have the culmination of bleeding edge technology up to that point in star trek history, in the D, which as luxurious as she is, she's still got claws when she needs to and honestly just sheer bulk on her side and pretty amazing shielding. And then the borg/dominion threat which culminates in the E being a full on warship. The F then, with most threats dealt with at the point of building is a somewhat mish mash of the two. It's very stately, but not quite luxurious like the D, it's also not a full on warship like the E. It's meant to explore again. So it won't be spec'd out like a dominion war Galaxy or a borg fighting sovereign. It'll be spec'd more like a standard Galaxy, which is to say, an explorer that can defend itself. It will have multitude's of science and research stations. But with dual quantum launchers, because that's just where the tech is now. They should be on every newly produced ship. There's no reason not to at this point. Just the sheer size of it, is it's own achilles heel. It will never evade anything and it appears the shields are still on the same level as the E, heck maybe even the D, or the shield emitters just struggle to output the energy needed to keep it's sheer bulk protected from two powerful attackers. They tore that poor thing to pieces pretty quick.

I *actually* do not like they made that design canon for the Enterprise F. I think it was a mistake in Star Trek Online. One thing about hero ships is they've always had balanced design elements, no matter how ungainly the individual components. I actually like in theory some of the ideas, but there are design aspects that could have easily helped lift this design up to a classic look. Right now it basically looks like the Orville with a disproportionately large pot belly secondary hull that skipped leg day. Star Trek Online devs thought they were being sleek interpreting Adam's work, but Adam's sketches had much better notions of what would look great.

Sadly the Odyssey Class isn't accurate in BC. Canon speaking, it does have cannons and turrets as well. Also, the E is supposed to fire 10 Quantums. Odyssey Class is supposed to fire 20.

the enterprise f Oddessy was a star trek online exculsive until Picard s3 where it became cannon, it ias a functioning quantum slip stream drive, Andorian captain ect.. Mk 6 Quantum torps, regenrative shielding and 40 mk 12 phaser strips..not exactly a fair fight, this version seems under-whelming as the Enterprise f survived the Iconain dreadnaughts with miner scratches

The original NCC 1701 to my knowledge was not a flagship. Neither was the A or B. I think the whole Flagship thing started with the D. When she launched the D was the most technologically advanced and powerful ship in the fleet. Same with the E and F. But the original and A were just One constitution out of many.

I think you might be making a tactical error in your approach to this battle. I would suggest that you attempt to place the “D” in between you and the “E” and make the “D” your primary target, get their shields down and then play hit and run with the sovereign.. if possible present your minimal aspect to cause “E” to strike “D” with their attacks.. just saying.😅😊

I think if they allowed the Real Enterprise G the (Eclipse class) that the 3rd season of Picard would of had a better success than the crappy 2nd Grade ship that they chose to be G

Not accepting this, multitargeting is needed here. Have the phasers firing at both ships while you focus on taking down the Sovereign. Has the support ship at the back of the Odyssey not been added yet?

I also feel like RBG make some tactical errors. He should've gone after the sensors and disabled both ships. Multi targeting plug torpedo volleys into the sensors would've ended this fight before it even began, just look at how fast the quantum launcher melted when it was targeted. The same thing would've happened to the sensors had he focused on them first. By the time he switched to the sensors after destroying the quantum launcher it was already to late.

@@travisaugustine7264 true but I think targeting sensors is a bit of a cheat that needs nerfing somehow. I think them being destroyed should limit the sensor area instead.

@@TonySquared09 no argument there, or as the sensors take damage weapons accuracy is affected and even with sensors destroyed, blind fire (ala Nemesis) could've been a thing.

@@TonySquared09 that would be cool...akin to someone yelling out the viewport "I see them...they're over there." I would want that mode to get inaccurate pretty quickly though the more distance there was between the vessels.

I think you would've won pretty easily by taking out the Sovereign's sensor array instead of focusing on the quantum launcher. Then turn your attention to the Galaxy and do the same thing. Once their sensors are gone you could pick them apart at your leisure. I DEMAND A REMATCH WITH THIS TACTIC LOL
