It was 2012, and not even cellphones were that great at the time. And, Wii U was a more full featured OS, too.

Still odd how unoptimized the Wii U OS was during it's first 4 months. I remember it couldn't even install games in the background before the April 2013 update too. You had to stay in the Download Management app and wait for whatever you downloaded to install.

The "please wait" message only occurs when a disc is in the drive, & especially noticeable on the "Injustice" game . Good to see that's getting fixed as well!

Very impressed with the new loading times. Launched Nintendo Land and it loaded in 5-7 seconds and returned to the Wii U menu in a mere 3 seconds. Simply glorious. Thank you Nintendo!!!

Wii U menu is way more charming than Switch’s menu. Switch menu needs a optional background music, and a Wii U theme withe those rounded borders for games icons.

I like the fact that you can use the previous remote and nunchuck with the wii u.It allows you to purchase the new system with upgraded specs and capabilites without having to invest the extra money in entirely new controllers that really don't add any functionality.The PS4 controllers look pretty much that same asPS3 except for the touch pad.That's not much of a change so I would hope they let you use PS3's as well.Other than that the only change is the specs. Is that not next gen either then

Man, the home menu looked very different back then that I didn't even noticed it. It was more transparent and the Controller Settings and Manual buttons weren't on the top.
