it is literally the ancestor of the switch. First time being able to have a 2 in 1 function when playing games. Truly underrated. The fact you can look at two screens is just amazing.

I absolutely love this console. I love how the gamepad feels and how big it is. I love the games on it. I love literally everything about it it's so underrated!

Just bought the Wii U, and I'm very happy with it. The long wait for over a year has certainly been worth it. I even had an error code with the system update, and I called Nintendo, which then they actually fixed the problem, making my update perform successfully! Can't thank them enough for their kindness. :)

Wii U turned 10 years, I got mine at January 15th, 2015 and I still have it here with me. This is part of my youth, now I'm 26 years old and I had a ton of fun with it. Thank You Wii U for everything.

The sad fact that in the end the Wii U was a huge commercial failure.

I’m extremely sad the Wii U didn’t do as well as it should, I loved and still love this console and it’s games, the only thing it bothers me is that no one told me the switch was going to have a deluxe version of the games I played (pikmin 3, Mario 3D world)

This definitely should have been the advertising used during launch here in the U.S. This needs to be on TV all over the place.

For all those of you complaining that Mario games are for kids, I'm 20 and my husband is 24. We both love our Wii U and love our Mario Bros. games. We also love Pokemon, Call of Duty, Metroid, Smash Bros, Darksiders, and The Legend of Zelda. I just want to point out that there's not an age limit on fun. Do what you enjoy. What other people think just does not matter.

Damn man the Wii U holds a special place in my heart. I remember coming home from school everyday seeing if there was any new news on Mario Kart 8 and Smash 4. And playing those games for hours.

To everyone that hates the Wii U and thinks it was good for nothing: listen, as someone who bought a Wii U in 2021, I have lots of disagreement towards your opinion, but let’s just agree that if the Wii U ads were good for one thing, then it was that they were amazing for Stranger Things cast members and fans alike.

This Wii U video is the best one I've seen, and it's a lot better than the ones from last year. Luckily for Nintendo, a good portion of us were able to identify the difference between Wii and Wii U on day one of the Wii U's release. Those who were confused with the systems probably didn't do their homework.

Where was this ad a year ago?

The sad fact that most people at the time thought this was an add on for the Wii, when I was younger and first saw this commercial, I actually knew that this was a separate console despite never owning it.

I love how much they have to verbally stress the fact that this is a new console, because it's not self explanatory enough all by itself.

This is hands-down the best Wii U advertising commercial I have seen yet. This is what you guys needed to do a year ago...this video adequately sums up the major differences about the Wii U and it actually explains the new features. Now all you need to do is make shorter 30 second commercials with each commercial discussing a certain aspect of the Wii U, plaster those all over TV, and you'll be set. Good job, Nintendo. For once you've impressed me with your Wii U marketing...keep it up.

The Wii U really wasn't that bad, the marketing on the other hand, was. People thought it was an addition to their already perfectly fine Wii's at home. The Wii U was a marketing nightmare simply because the name alone. Lmao, I love mine though.

The only missing thing in this ad is that you have to let people know there are hardcore games on Wii U.

I love the console, but it`s marketing is crap, there is so many things you can do on wii u that weren`t even showed in commercials until now

FINALLY a DECENT commercial. Keep this up, and whoever made this commercial, keep them and fire everyone else. Just remember these four things, Nintendo, and you'll do fine: 1. Family gaming is dead, now that smartphones exist. 2. 3rd party titles really entice a gamer to buy your console. 3. Let people know this is NOT a Wii, but it's entirely new. 4. Your original audience has grown up. Cater to them (myself included) as well. Hopefully you hired a new marketing staff, and if I may suggest, name your next console something entirely different from this. By having early marketing focusing on the title "Wii U Gamepad", it sounds quite similar to that Draw Pad add-on for the Wii. Funnily enough, some people still don't know the Wii U is a standalone system, or that it even exists. You need better marketing, and this did a pretty good job. Now, get some 3rd party games and other exclusives and you'll do great. Bayonetta 2 was a pretty good deal you got, but that's just one game. Good luck Nintendo, you're gonna need it.

The WiiU is a great console. I bought mine in late 2019 (despite already having a switch) and I'm very satisfied with it: amazing games, the use of the gamepad as a remote and the possibility to play offscreen (the switch does that perfectly thanks to the experiments made with this console, don't forget it😉) is what makes the console stand out. It's sad that people (like younger me) didn't realize it was a new console, and that 3rd parties didn't make a good use of the gamepad (except for a few); it was a waste of potential in my opinion and what made the console "flop". Also R.I.P. Miiverse, I never had the chance to trying it

They were very specific about what the Wii U is. Good explanations, could've been better if they also included the more mature games so it would call attention to hardcore gamers. Like Ghosts, and Black Ops 2.

I'll admit it, back in 2012 I could have cared less about the Wii U. I had no plan to get it or anything of the sort. I loved the Wii, but let me tell you the motion control gimmick wore of fast! That's how I felt about the Wii U at first. I thought the tablet controller was just a gimmick, so I waited. In September, I got a deal I just couldn't pass up on the Wii U so I got it. Setting the thing up to Wi-fi took forever and until December it sat collecting dust. I didn't have any games and even thought of selling it but I knew new games were coming so I waited. When I did get some games and started playing them a little, I got hooked. I got more hooked with the Wii U than I ever have with any other system I own! The games are incredible, especially the likes of Super Mario 3d Land, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Rayman Legends and Nintendo Land. With a new Mario Kart and Smash Bros. on the way it just leaves me more and more excited with each passing day! The system could be improved in some ways, but anyone who says it is an underpowered piece of garbage has never played it. All I can say is don't knock it until you try it. This ad, though it may be awful, is what they had to do! No one gets the product so they need to outline it for everyone. Yes it may not be pleasant to watch and is definitely a low for Nintendo, but it does help the uninformed learn about it. Nintendo has nowhere to go but up from here on out and I really look forward to the upcoming games this year.
