Another really great lesson. There are not many other teachers talking about the subject of pulse, tempo and rhythm, if at all, and I even did not fully understand what pulse was supposed to mean. At least, pulse is not the beat of a metronom, but may change depending on the situation. And without pulse, the music may fall apart. I loved this presentation and thank you, Denis, and all those behind the scene, to prepare such new wonderful content.
A piece has a pulse/beat just as our heart has a pulse that changes depending on inner state or external circumstances, this is what helped me internalized pulse, at the beginning you feel like you have to run to catch the pulse of a piece in the piano, but you can sync with it. I like how you approach rhythm and the pulsation of bars, is very similar -sometimes the same- as when you are learning a choreography, we do the same "and 1, 2, 3 and 1, 2, 3", eventually you learn the choreography by singing the rhythm. What it feels natural for me, and that I build a relationship with my piano is to visualize the syncronization of my hearts pulse with the piano's, so my piano has a heart and we both are learning to dance.
Thank you so much, Denis. I struggle with rhythm and controlling tempo in Mozart sonata K545 allegro. Your teaching is spot on👍 I look forward to growing tutorials on Teachable, too. You make my piano life even more interesting and enjoyable. You are great ❤
Thanks for very useful info again. It really takes time, especially for beginners, to acquire those rhythmical skills and feel the pulse of music. But practice makes perfect)))
Very interesting topic about pulse, tempo, and rhythm. I like the intro of this video. I enjoy learning how to best perform music pieces of different composers. Thanks for your interesting lessons.
Hello dear Denis 💐, I understood a bit what you mean by "pulse". I always want to know exactly. I always try to find. It's difficult and I have to really feel it. But first implement it too 🙈. You played wonderfully. There's a piece that I'm playing right now. Do I ever share it 🙈? Maybe with motivation...🌞. Have a nice day, Ursel
