It’s so heart warming to see a framing crew work as a team with no one losing their temper, cussing, even raising their voices… and laughing, joking. Can’t say I’ve ever experienced that in my 20 years of framing. Great stuff!!
The man is a gentleman with his staff; polite and not abusive. far different from the Contrustion Owner I worked for during a summer when I was attending college. Boy, was he a monster. Thank goodness I only worked for him for 10 weeks.
So glad that I found this channel, Ken. You guys do amazing work. You must be the greatest boss in the world. I sure wouldn't mind working for you... if I weren't so old now. 🤣
Ken, I'm subscribed and enjoy your videos. I really like the time lapse. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom. Looking forward to watching in 2023. Blessings of strength, health and safety to you, family, employees and customers/associates. ☝🙏🙌💪🎯
Excellent excellent work Ken. Wow you guys really have your system nailed down. If I may ask, do you ever do a video on the ground prep work, installing the gravel, plumbing and any other conduits for electrical that may be needed. Thank you.
13:30 whew, i'm glad you eventually bolted the frame to the concrete slab, or at least showed it unlike previous videos having me worried despite your reply indicating such scenario.
6:21 Man nice work! But in my area a garage door cost $5-8000 form work, concrete and excavation (not in that order) 20000, framing and lumber and trusses 5200, shingles and install 3200, siding soffit fascia and eves and capping 8600 plus man door and window last to calculate Is permit cost and electrical if wanted Wish I had the prices you get in the us
That was fun to watch Ken. I'm curious how the lumber prices are going up there lately and how much impact that has on your prices to your customers. Is this being only the second garage you did by August of 2022 a result of high lumber prices or were you just busy on other projects? You have a great crew. See you on the next one.
Great work Ken, does this price include materials and site prep or just the skill and labor up to exterior finish? Very afforable cost compared to Pacific North West where im at.
Ken have you use Smart Siding it is pre primed. I use a bearing washer under 5/8" strong bolt or 5/8" titen bolt made by Simpson Strong Tie to hold down the sole plate. Keep up the great work and have safe new year.
It finally dawned on me that the interior height of 8' 1.5" allows finishing the inside with wall material about an inch away from the concrete floor. (no contact = less moisture) I also heard in another video that leaves a little extra room for an automatic door opener, but I don't know the rough dimensions for that so have trouble imagining the clearance there. I have done a few openers and recalling you need at least 3 inches from the open door to the sheetrock. Presuming a 7 ft door there should be plenty of clearance.... or is that open door higher than I recall? I guess one of the questions is about that 7 ft door being a rough opening or finished opening? Now that we're talking about it, that might make a good video topic. How to figure a door opening... rough versus finished.... and the actual usable opening when all is done.
Are materials cheaper in VT? I feel like in Connecticut contractors are asking almost double these numbers. And they’re taking their sweet time on jobs, such a pain dealing with builders here
What brand of anchor bolt are you using to attach the bottom 2 by 4 to the concrete? Also, is there anything below the 2 by 4 before laying it down to prevent water from seeping in?
I'm curious what rough opening size works well for the 9x7 garage doors to trim out nicely. Seems like the rough opening height would be 82 5/8" with 2x10 headers using 92 5/8" studs.
Thank you for the video Ken .do you use H clips on the roof plywood ?getting ready to build a 40x 50 come spring. Right down the street from you. How much are your consultation fees? For a long time subscriber.🤣🤣. You got to admit it would be a good segment for one of your videos.
