Thank you for this very concise video! Here's a summary: 1. Use tripod, don’t touch once recording 2. Use Manual exposure, slowest possible shutter speed, also set Manual Focus 3. Set 16: 9 ratio, and JPEG or JPEG/raw (not raw only) 4. Set white balance to anything other than Auto 5. On Recording menu, on 4th page, select Time Lapse 6. Set Time Interval at least 2X shutter speed 7. Use Arithmetic for Interval/Image Count 8. After shooting, can (optionally) choose to create video, selecting settings, including reverse. 9. Can also create videos by selecting Time Lapse on Playback tab

Manual Mode for Timelapse is only recommended if light conditions doesn't significantly change in the area of footage. Otherwise Aperture mode is recommended as the aperture can be fixed where as the shutterspeed can vary. Of course this could have an impact of the shutter interval in low light situations but if you fix your aperture and shutterspeed in changing light conditions you will not get a picture series with continuous exposure balance. This video helped me a lot to find the best video settings for timelaps. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for that, helped me immensely as my battery went flat recording a storm. I got lost in the menu trying to work out how to create the movie from all the still shots I had. Cheers.

Is it better to use Digital shutter or Mechanical Shutter? In the video you set SS to 2scnds which was higher than the interval that you set to1 second. Is it really important to have a SS that is shorter than the interval?

I have been trying to get some time-lapse on the LX-100, but I am having an issue related to the battery. If I can assume this camera doesn't eat batteries at an alarming rate, I believe my battery is losing power awfully quickly. I can order new batteries of course, and I have also ordered the A/C cord that will maintain the battery directly from a normal 110v outlet. HOWEVER, this does not help me with my current issue which is as follows: If my battery dies before the time-lapse shooting is completed, is there a method for building the time-lapse inside the camera once I have a fresh battery installed?
@ОптимусПрайм-е6ы
I have GX 80 too and I have the problem with flicker when I capture time lapse in A mode. Do you have this problem on your GX camera?

Great video! Just wondering: since I can edit videos myself quite easily, is it better for my workflow to take hundreds of pictures every tot seconds and then create a movie, or to record directly a video and just duplicate the speed of it? I'm usually doing the second trick, but I believe I'm missing something in quality.
@Camerahoarders
@Camerahoarders 6 лет назад
There is a huge difference in quality, especially if you shoot RAW, edit and create video on PC rather than in camera. Also, recording normal video would take a lot of memory card space and drain battery much faster.

I took a time-lapse but i didn't set up the camera properly as per this great video. I let the camera create the video and it looked good. Later I took the images, processed them in Lightroom (I'm a beginner) and then put them together in premiere pro. The increase in quality was astonishing. I used a Peter Mckinnon time-lapse video to guide me.

Hello, I have the Panasonic lumix dmc-tz80 camera and I can't be happier with it but I have a problem, maybe I don't know how to do it right and that is that when I do a timelapse and set it to turn on in a minute it activates at 12 o'clock. night and record that minute, when I am on the screen "Interv. Time-Shot" I have fixed that the date is one day after the current one, what I do wrong, greetings and thanks

On my GX85, I'm successful in creating a time lapse clip, and even viewing the results in camera. But when I take the SD card out of the camera, put it into my PC to view there, instead of showing a time lapse video, it shows individual still pictures!!! I once had 500 stills imported from the SD card. HELP!!!! I'm doing something wrong.
@Camerahoarders
@Camerahoarders 6 лет назад
When you create time lapse clip it is saved as a video file. It might be possible it went to another folder on memory card.

Yes, but set the number to 9999 so you'll have more than plenty of shots remaining.

How many hours can this timelapse camera record? Is it possible to record without batteries on the cable?
@Camerahoarders
@Camerahoarders 3 года назад
No, you need battery in the camera for it to work. Only way to make it work indefinetly is to buy dummy battery and external power supply.
@Gawron..
@Gawron.. 3 года назад
@@Camerahoarders I have a PC or a charger for power supply. There is no problem with that. Does this mean that the battery will be charged all the time I record? Will it be healthy for the battery? The camera will not heat up too much?
@Camerahoarders
@Camerahoarders 3 года назад
No, I think you misunderstood me. In order to make it work non-stop longer than a single battery can provide you need this: amzn.to/2Mj1IyH This camera does not support charging or power supply over USB while it is working, it only draws power out of the battery.
@Gawron..
@Gawron.. 3 года назад
@@Camerahoarders You're right. This model only transfers files via USB. The Lx100 II already has this capability. I did not know about it before. Such a power supply is not practical.

Camerahoarders, are you able to find a way to complete the time lapse, after the camera goes into sleep mode? Rarely am I around to watch the camera complete the lapse. When I do come to the camera, the time lapse has finished, and the screen is dark. When I go back in and revive the camera, I don't see an option to complete the time lapse process. I do see that my pics are there, and when I go to play it back, it plays each individual photo, and not the time lapse video. Thanks.
@Camerahoarders
@Camerahoarders 6 лет назад
Hm, I haven't been shooting long t-lapses with it yet but i think time lapse should override sleep mode and prevent the camera from going into one. I'll have to try and see what happens, I'll let you know.
@loft4me
@loft4me 6 лет назад
Thank you. Compared to my Google smartphone in conjunction with the HD Camera app, and my Garmin Virb 30 action camera, the process for time lapse on a Panasonic seems lengthy almost to the point of not wanting to use it for that purpose - almost. Thanks Camerahoarders, when you get the time and if you see a fix, that would be appreciated.
@Camerahoarders
@Camerahoarders 6 лет назад
Well, i tried it and works for me. I've set sleep on 1 minute and time lapse a bit longer. Camera didn't go to sleep until all the shots were taken. Only then is when it waited for a minute and went to sleep. When I woke it up all of the images were saved on card individually (it does that always) but I could access them as a single set and create time lapse video. Are you sure you went into playback menu and tried making time lapse from there (there are two separate time lapse options, one in record settings menu tab to start and set up time lapse, other one in playback tab to create video with an old set of images?
