I live in Farmington Hills right by the border of Farmington and often times I get mail with my address printed as Farmington. It's always felt as one big city anyways. I think regardless if you live in Farmington or Farmington Hills, we all share in the events and spirit together.
I grew up in Farmington before "Farmington Hills" became an actual city. It was simply the area around Farmington. We moved to Farmington in January of 1955 and my family still lives there. Love it so much and have always been so proud of it with its history, neighborhoods, churches, stores, etc. So glad it's getting the recognition it so deserves.
I grew up in Farmington when it was 48024. FHS was 99.7% white with 1400 kids. 2 Asian brothers and 2 black brothers. No Hispanic, Arabic, or Indians. Things changed in the mid 70's with the Hills and their 48018. How is FHS now?
You can take your racism elsewhere. I've lived here 30 years and it's still a great place. My neighbors are very kind and I'm the only house on the block that owns a dog. Once my dog got out, and a couple other times there was a stray dog in my yard which was mistaken for my dog (same color fur). Each time they called to let me know. I think that is a very kind neighbor. I've lived in this house for 20 years and I'm not planning on moving. My previous home, also in FHS (all white neighbors btw) were very unfriendly and one neighbor even threatened to kick my dog. I was 12 at the time and I had a miniature poodle that liked to dig under the fence and he probably managed to get out a couple times before my dad poodle proofed the fence but the dog was certainly not aggressive and he never bit anyone but my neighbor felt he was appropriate in making that threat. Bottom line is that I've had kind neighbors from all backgrounds.
@@Lolidella82 Wow! I cannot believe the snarky, racist remarks. some things and people never change. I would happily move there if I had the chance. Racism does not belong in this world anymore!
Dork Born no it is still opened but at this point that’s where they send you when they just can’t handle u anymore. Don’t get me wrong, i love school and FHS but there is a growing drug problem in Farmington itself
Grew up in Farmington.....was about 1973 we were told they created a name for part of Farmington - called Farmington Hills now....we all shrugged - kinda a big whatever lol!
@@kaptkronik135 what's wrong with diversity and inclusion? You sound very racist and ignorant. If you have enough credentials that meet their requirements, then you shouldn't have a problem getting a job. Clearly you don't have the credentials that they require whereas other candidates from other races have. So there's your answer.
Im only curious because there was a kid at my summer camp from farmington who is a stuck up jerk. This does not go for all you farmington-ers? Stay hydrated, love from emmet county
