This is an ArcMap issue, but there are no tutorials that start from importing time series data. I have imported a time series data table that tracts weekly eviction filings by census tract. I downloaded the shapefile concurrent with the census tracts in the data table. However, there is a massive problem with joining. In the shapefile, there is one row associated with a GEOID code and that GEOID's polygon. However, the data table has the same GEOID code repeated 59 times because the data are by week. This program should do the following simple function: Match up the GEOID in the shapefile, look for the matching 59 GEOID numbers in the data table and assign the same polygon for each repeating GEOID match. So, again the shapefile has one row per GEOID and the data file has 59 rows per GEOID. The program should take the shapefile GEOID and assign that polygon to each matching GEOID number of the data table resulting in a time series map which then the Time bar can be used to cumulatively add eviction filings to a particular census tract over weekly periods. Each week period a census tract should get darker in color as more eviction filings are added to that census tract's polygon over time. I think a full tutorial should start with importing a time series data table and shapefile, properly joining the data table with that shapefile, and then talk about analysis; not starting from only the analysis. Start from the beginning.
