I might be wrong but I think they are just slowly reuploading very old videos because people are still interested in watching stuff like this, just like Gordon Ramsay and Kitchen Nightmares. These videos are like early 2000's, and this is how videos were made back then.
They amplified the chewing noises. If I was a 'freaky' eater watching this for inspiration, I'd be making gagging faces too. Banana IS slimy and revolting in raw form, I'm not the only one who thinks so, and I don't need to hear someone masticating it.
Clara Montgomery hmm... how come on a different comment, you replied, “i have a bad phone, the audio sounds great to me!” yet on this comment, you’re telling them to get a better phone? i think you need to get a better phone because the audio is definitely not perfect.
@@ItsMeAmb3rly Not necessarily. The uncle of someone I know works as a professional chef even if he lost his sense of taste years ago. He also competed on Hell's Kitchen in our country and came quite far, also continued to work alongside one of the chefs after the show ended. It goes to show that you just have to have talent. A tremendous amount, sure, but talent. There are also chefs out there that admit they enjoy fast food like McDonald's, so it goes to show that not every single chef out there has some really advanced taste buds.
“And I don’t understand how vegetarians can eat fish, ‘cause that’s like cannibalism”. First of all, we don’t. That’s pescatarians. Second of all, we aren’t fish...
It's not that weird tbh. As long as she can ignore being grossed out It's like owning a pet. Want to have the pet but it's still gross to clean up after them
A huge part of this is her parents fault. How can you let a child live under your roof and not have them eat any fruits and vegetables at all? I understand that kids don’t want to eat broccoli and stuff, but when you introduce stuff early she wouldn’t be gagging at tasting apples.
Stephanie Boyd especially a child that’s been so poorly in and out of hospital. Surely you’d want to make sure they had the most balanced, nutritious diet to keep them as healthy as possible
S Boyd I’ve been introduced to fruits and vegetables and I’m struggling very badly to eat anything healthy without gagging and throwing up. Sometimes it can be a matter of parenting but sometimes it’s a mental thing.
What was her mum meant to do shove the fruit and veg down her neck? The only way some kids eat fruit and veg is if you hide it in food and even then some kids just dont mess with it
Yer her teachers at school were right when they said she couldn't have a career as a chef cos she doesn't have a passion for food. Never mind passion, she barely has a basic education about food and where it all comes from 🤦♀️
they're very unsophisticated folk, and even admit in the video that they were bad role models as they don't (and never did) eat 'veg' because they 'don't like it' . . .good lord, she never stood a chance
these people obviously suffer from severe psychological issues that go far deeper than what's shown in the show. it's shocking precisely because of how hard it is for normal people like us to understand why they can't do what's so simple to us. that's the point. their parents always tried but they just don't know how to deal with the problem. it's generally not their fault unless they abused the kid and that's why they have the issues they have.
Ergh making me feel Ill..plus the way she gags on everything's is so annoying ,and only 19 its having an effect on her looks ,I thought she was waaaay older..like way..
OMG . Finally someone who talks about her annoying ass gagging at everything. Seriously...even if it does taste bad you don't have to act like you're dying...
@@shin.miyagami.6792 That gagging act was how she got her own way as a kid, and it's developed to be a real psychological response. It's a learned behaviour, but probably her genuine reaction now. I wouldn't be able to spend time with her or sympathise at all
Clara Montgomery lots of people have hearing disabilities, or they may not have top-notch hearing. if you have a bad phone, it may well be your phone that is making it sound “fine” or your hearing is off or “superior” to others.
Molly Boord i believe thats why she tries so hard to change. maybe its more the aspect of taking care of others that makes her want to be a chef rather than passion for food.
Life is full of surprises .... I'm not crazy about getting Massage but really enjoy how if feels to give it . I have bin a successful full time Massage Therapist for over 20 years with many loyal customers !
Queenrock - she also has zero idea how to use a proper knife - or even which knife is appropriate for which job. There’s no way she’d be able to cook in a real restaurant situation.
Honestly I hope she’s doing better, food addictions are so hard to escape being nasty and making fun of her isn’t going to make her try new foods it makes her feel worse, it’s something that normal people will NEVER understand and to get through it is amazing, I hope she can become a chef someday she just needs to harness her true skill and passion! ✌🏻
"I never knew that beetroot grew in the ground" . OMG watching her put all the gravy onto her food at her mothers urging. Her parents I think are still a bad encouragement, the poor girl is going to end up with a new problem of ending up having to drown all the food she eats in gravy (which is full of the salt she loved before and the fat)
Most people are not aware that it is possible to actually eat the stalks and greens of vegetables such as beetroots, carrots, cauliflower leaves without the stalk parts, turnips, etc. None of them will kill a person because they are not poisonous. Just do not eat the greenery from rhubarb because they contain a chemical called oxalic acid which, when consumed in large quantities, can be fatal. Oxalic acid binds to calcium ions in the blood and makes them ineffective. This can lead to kidney problems or even death. The stalks also have oxalic acid but in sufficiently small quantities to not be really dangerous, but still do not overeat it. When she poured the gravy, I really thought it looked more like tarmac being poured onto the road. 'nuf sed. plamuk aka travellingchef
No I'd guess mid to late twenties . She has young skin so the potentials there and hopefully her continued health and confidence will bring out her youthful qualities .
"People are starving in Africa..." That's the FIRST time I've seen anybody on this show object to chucking their food in the trash. Usually, it's just, "oh, no... I can't have my crappy food anymore."
Africa has been having a population boom ever since White men started feeding them. Especially after the 80s. For example. Nigeria alone has 220 Million people. in 35 years they will have close to half a billion. How can they both be starving and booming in population? We were lied to by the TV and NGOs in the 90s to send money to these corrupt 'charities' and now look what's happened. We can't continue to feed them.
@Frank Drebin - STFU. Everything about your comments is stupid af. Yeah, ignore the fact that the "white man" gets most of his wealth from Africa and "third world" nations.
My mum had a terrible time trying to get me to eat veggies as a kid. Then I grew up and started eating out and cooking for myself, and discovered I quite liked a lot of vegetables when they weren’t boiled in very salty water for 40 minutes and served cold.
Thats the thing, vegetables tend to be quite bland in the UK, whereas in asian countries, for example, they’re very well seasoned. I can understand the aversion a lot of people have to them here
Growing up I liked tomatoes. One day while out picking tomatoes at a farm, my Opa handed my a rotten one and told me to eat it. I did and got extremely sick. To this day I still think tomatoes taste rotten. But I’ve found that I’m ok with them on a burger or sandwich. But I can’t eat them in a salad. As long as you keep trying you’ll figure it out.
I think the fundamental thing about being a chef is that you need to taste all the food so you know if the flavour works. It's not so much as trying new food. That's probably what the instructor meant when he said she won't be a chef. Not her not having passion but more she can't taste her food. How would she do if she gets a practical palate test? Also, what chef is pro processed food?
Untrue as there is insufficient iron in the contents to meet her daily requirements because they are not pure meat. Try beef, chicken, and turkey. As for vegetables, try beans, lentils , tofu, baked potatoes, cashews, dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, whole-grain enriched bread, and stuff like that. Not burnt meats as they tend to be carcinogenic. 'nuf sed. plamuk aka travellingchef
I can’t eat for approximately 5 days out of every 14 because of lack of money and have a stomach ulcer because of it - the amount they waste is disgusting. Surely they could just donate it to a food charity? Think someone needs to tell them that those really exist, as well as real starving people.
Good Lord! Did y'all see that meal she prepared for her family? That looked amazing. It's actually quite difficult to believe she isn't a trained chef, or at the very least, a lifelong foodie who lives to cook. I sure hope she follows through with her dreams and becomes a chef.
I'm always amazed to see adults who don't know where food comes from. I have a tiny backyard and I have always grown fruits and vegetables, my kids now help and eat the foods which we have grown.
ambrielle'messed'up life y eet sqaud I agree , and then move to different types of sausage and similar foods then broaden the spectrum instead of starting with straight fruit and veggies
When I was younger I had a deathly fear of being sick. So to avoid food poisoning from undercooked meat, I would always ask for it to be charred... Even though I hated meat I had to eat it so that was my compromise 💀💀 maybe she's just afraid of food poisoning
how can i person like to cook and doesnt like to taste? It is impossible to cook properly if you dont even know the tastes you are cooking. She doesnt even taste the little fruit
On a side note, feeding school kids hot dogs and chips doesn't help too much with the UK's (and the US's) obesity epidemic, the tax-payers medical costs, and brain development. Gahhh! Work it out society. Smh.
I'm so in awe of your progress in such a short time, Nat! ❤️ Also interesting to see how the dietician and psychologist worked together to find strategies to overcome this phobia and other anxieties such as going on a boat. I wish you all the best and success in becoming a chef 🙂
The parents saying they would make family roast with veg but then none of them would actually eat the veg and they'd throw it away... Are these people slow?
