Beautiful table and benches in such an idyllic spot. Lovely outdoor space for entertaining even when you have finished the house. Maybe longer term Badger could make a pergola to cover the table and you could grow a vine or even one of those lemons they hang over pergola in Positano. Maybe make it from mild steel post that will rust but last longer than wood. I really love your little bit of paradise. ❤

Feels like it’s been a long time but it really hasn’t. Absolutely necessary to build a place where all of you can be together day to day. Will be much easier to work on the house! Can’t wait to see how you progress from here!!! Love the whole place!

Good work guys! Next time you're over in Aus, I think you'd be really impressed by Ecoburbia, in Beaconsfield/Freo. Tim and Shani have converted a large old house into six dwellings and a large backyard with veggies, fruit trees, compost, chooks and goats! They are self-sustaining with water thanks to a giant tank under the ground, and energy as well. They are pretty darn cool, and they do tours!

May I suggest some "food grade" linseed oil for the table top. It'll be good for all you countertops, woodwork, and chairs/benches. The new table looks great! Good job.

You must prune your grapes in order to get bigger grapes :) After the frost period in winter, early spring. Prune back to two or 3 nodes of the main branches. It will grow so much better, and will also give you delicious grapes. Also, in growing season, when the grapes are forming, get rid of all the new growth that does not produce fruit. You'll see that the grapes will be more in the sun then and can get ripe easier. I have loads of grapes on one trellis in a backyard in the Netherlands; you have so much advantages over our climate, so make good use of it.

Love the flowers and I would dig the roots up and replant into a nice colourful garden area, it is impossible to do everything at once especially when you have so many plans and such a wonderful large area of land the waterfalls are marvellous , I could just swim in there now this heat is killing me. So much fun watching you guys 🌻thanks for sharing💚🌻Word of caution we thought it smart to use a grape vine over our patio...it was not grapes are messy especially purple, They stain everything, attracts birds aka bird poop and the wasps come to any fallen fruit and are a nuisance' The grape vine was replaced😆
I can sympathize with your overgrowth and brambles. I’m fighting them All the time in the spring and summer. Everything looks so nice 🥀 after all the hard work.
Maybe touch on what’s the plan with the stone house. And what is next for that build. It’s a big one I know and maybe summer holidays is for chilling and fun.

That’s what badgers do - dig holes, right? 😂 Ive put layers of marine varnish (what they use on boats) on my nice outdoor potting bench, and picnic table, & renew that varnish every couple years, cause I can’t possibly build a new bench every time because of neglect! I believe marine varnish is more durable and lasting than oil.
Lovely bench and seats, however I really think you need to support the ends of the bench. They really bent down when you sat. Every thing is starting to look spiffy again.
beautiful table & benches! but i think rounded corners would just take the sharp edges off the table & benches, will you be oiling it or waxing? a lovely upgrade to your outdoor kitchen thanx for sharing
