I have never heard of Mick Hayes but daaaaamn! I am falling inlove with his music. It lifts your soul up and just makes you wanna feel good! Loving your commentary. You just commentary. A good balance of critic and love for the music unlike other videos. Love it!

Hey Danny this guy has a great sound definitely will check him out, have you looked into reacting to Green Day just wondering.

I have mixed, but mostly positive feelings on this. I have two issues, which are minor. The lyrics have a bit of a cheese factor to them. If I had listened without the video, this may have been a problem. Instead, with the video, it becomes a sincere cheese, which greatly mellows the cheese factor. I feel this was reflected in his voice. He has a very good voice, but I didn't feel an emotional connection to the song beyond a sincere cheese connection. It feels lighthearted as opposed to an emotional confession type song. It reminds me of a more serious take on a song I once saw live that was about a guy talking about the hit woman across the room. "Damn, she looks good to me. Yes, I'm checking out my wife." (His actual wife, not a fantasy.) So this song doesn't have the drama because it feels like a comfortable "no drama" relationship and the video fits that vibe. The music is fantastic. I feel like he would have fit right in with the LA crowd of musicians I know and who have had a bit of a diaspora. One of those is Jay Nash who went back to Vermont. He had a festival called Rock for the River (St. Lawrence River) that Mick would fit well in, but I don't know if the charity he had partnered with killed it off in 2017 or not after 13 years. It would have just happened this month without COVID if the show still exists.
