@@robinhadley I got the impression that he meant 'off-roading', as in specific driving activities on very rough terrain, rather than 'literally never been on any surface other than asphalt'?
The detailing/paint correction/repairs look very impressive. Thing is, what does this level of work cost, please? I would guess at 1k or thereabouts? ✌️
I think Chops needs an estate car. Something 4x4 but still fun, that's reliable and spacious. I think she should get a JDM Subaru Legacy GT Twinscroll, but then again I think everyone - including me - should have one! 😁
If you're looking for a people mover, isn't the ID buzz right around the corner? Seems like another one that won't lose value even if it's a tad on the pricey side and it'll be a darling of the soft modification market. I'd of thought it was right up the smith/chops family street.
These haven't lost their appeal in the few years since they were launched. It's a real shame Suzuki never made a long wheel base 5 door Jimny, maybe with a slightly bigger diesel engine. Sort of a tiny, reliable Defender 110.
Nah, people always associate Jimny's as a 2 door. 5 door is coming out of India, not Japan. As most have seen how the 5 door would look. Fugly as hell.
Really good video. Great to see Mrs Carpervert again, I think she makes the video’s extra interesting especially when she talks about her cars and it’s great to see she loves them too. Nice advice Jonny and good luck with the auction 👍🏻
Great to see Chops in front of the camera again. Great detail job on the Jimny! Hope you get a good price for that vehicle and Chops gets something she likes!
Someone is going to to be so lucky to get Jessica....wish it was me as she’d be perfect but alas with everything as it is survival is more important. Love ya J & Chops. Thank you for all your work
Those things are absolutely vile. Sorry i think they're the worst things ever made Toyota has a thing for making some of the best and some of the absolute worst cars in the world
Is it me Johnny, or have you barely finished throwing eye-watering amounts of cash at this thing - and now you're moving it on because it's not the right vehicle for you.....?!?!?! .... I suppose its a petrol head thing......
Thanks for the video Chops and Jonny. My word Aaron and the team at Nuovo Detailing did an amazing job. Whoever becomes the new owner of Jessica will certainly have one of if not the best Jimny in the UK, being number 1 as well adds a bit of cudos. Wonder if we'll be having a car cave video featuring her in a couple of decades time...😄 Good luck with the auction...👍🏻
I would like to reiterate other people comments. Great to have Mrs Chops and yourself on the video. On the new car front, while not available immediately how about an ID Buzz? Larger family vehicle EV, and also revisiting your VW bit 🙂
I imagine the process that was carried out on the car wasn't cheap - I assume you will get that back with the asking price of the Jimny?? Looks very good though so well done 👍
Yep, just bought an '05 Alfa 156 on C&C. Dead simple, great to deal with Richard Vine at the website, and living offshore, a mate picked the car up for me. Better than the tyre-kicker websites.
Hmmm tell the kids to walk. You had to walk everywhere when you were a kid after all. Uphill both ways in the middle of winter with nothing but sandals on your feet. You know give them a good guilt trip. Living in Canada I don't know what I would do for that car. Forbidden fruit.
Please consider an EV like the Kia e-Niro or Hyundai Kona. If it's still not enough room in the back then maybe consider an MG5. We need more new EVs bought by people who can afford them, so it makes more used examples for people to buy in the future. From the guy who you were stuck in a lift with at FCL 2019!😂
Is there a game of “I’ve seen Jessica, since Chops sold her?” Well, if so, spotted her three weeks ago, South London; was strangely exciting! Certainly more so than all the “exotica” seen around Mayfair ……..
Another good way to sell your car is to feature on your RU-vid channel with 416k subscribers and direct them to the auction while also getting them to donate money to you. It really helps move the auction along.
When your two cars are a Figaro and a Jimny, it's clear that you like vehicles with character. Trying to think of a vehicle with character that's larger than the Jimny....VW Buzz? Or stick with the Japanese vibe and grab an old Honda Element.
Excellent Video Jonny and Chops, great tips on selling a car, have only sold two cars privately in the past one I had my great uncle from Nigeria wanting to buy my car if I gave him so much first!! Second time around I sold my last car on Facebook market place again a few scammers but one person a enthusiast to the brand bought my car. Again great tips on preparing the car for sale. Looking forward to seeing what Chops gets next.
Great video thank you. Cool to se two presenters! 👍 I’d like to throw my 2-pence worth in and recommend a Skoda Yeti. Perhaps the 4x4 version. It seems the most ideal non-suv SUV!!! 👌
Bit late to this video, sad to see the jimny go but hopefully it's gone to another loving home! Maybe, going down the retro modern 4x4 route, it's time for an imported FJ? Stupidly big for uk roads and no doubt expensive but oddly cool.
I think Mrs. S needs more time in front of the lens. She's a natural! Then again ripping Jonny's bike off the rack might hamper that. LOL! Would have loved to have seen your '92 mountain bike,Jonny!
Good vid. So 24 k in 3.5 yrs. Might be worth a dabble at Estate car as some other watchers have said..... But not enough miles to warrant an EV. Perhaps a later Mondeo hybrid? Massive and practical.... But not Vignale FFS..... Let somebody else take the hit on depreciation..... The Jimny is one of the few new cars that have appreciated.....outside of sporty things
Body repair is expensive. I have a few supermarket dents and one where the rust is coming through but to fix all like new would doubtless be a grand or so
I had the same problem with my Suzuki Jimny, great as a second car but to small as a main car. I sold mine and bought a 4x4 Dacia Duster, it's a good honest reliable car, just the right size not too big and still has good 4x4 credentials
At the end of the day this car is set to sell very well. And not because they did an extensive detail and minor cosmetic repairs. But because this vehicle is in extremely high demand. It would be interesting to know what the final sale price is compared to what it would have cost a regular punter to do the extra work involved. Did they get that much more for the car after spending x dollars to prepare it for sale? Either way it will sell for top dollar, no doubt about that.
Nice to see Chops again! You'll have no problems shifting the Jimny i think. Will be interesting to see it's replacement. I really liked this video and found myself nodding in agreement with Jonny when he gave his tips and tricks about selling cars.
Many thanks. None of what I said is science, but it hopefully helps to always achieve better sales potential on a car (or helps find you a misadvertised bargain).
@@TheLateBrakeShow I always click a shitty ad for an interesting car though beacuse there could be gems lurking. And you can use the state of it to bargain.
Good consumer advice for selling cars video , I've been to some before where they are good from afar but far from good even on a main dealer lot . Shame your selling it but I guess it time for a change , as for suggestions another classic Merc w124 estate maybe .??????
Love to see follow up videos from chops, choosing, testing cars to replace the Suzuki. I had thought this would of been 100% chops video. Nice to see Jonny in the last half. Although i thought it would of been nice if he was wearing his wifes outfit in the the last half of the video.
So disappointed that Jonny did not have a go with a rattle can first OTSOT. Chops, you are brilliant talking about cars that you love. Great family work. Looking forward to you showing us around your next family car. Thanks
Great video hopefully we can get more Mrs Smith on the Channel as she did a great job good luck with the car and it will be great to see what Mrs Smith chooses
Johnny. Insane content value for non car people. Car traded 18 years and I don’t think you missed a trick of best practice get it sold properly advise.
Good luck with the sale. As for what's next for Chops...? How about doing a 'joint venture' with Richard at Electric Classic Cars and get Chops some form of EV restomod...? Pick up something interestingly quirky like a Citroen BX 4x4 Estate or a Volvo V70 XC to have converted. I suspect she'd love the ability to surprise other drivers at the traffic light grand prix...!! 😉
You missed the best tip 'make a video of it for your 400k subscribers 🤣 Seriously though, great video, it really is amazing how bad some ads are, even from businesses and for high value cars - I have seen £250k+ cars where 90% is telling you the story of the car model (like you wouldn't know?), and about 3 lines put over to the car they are selling!? And then there's the people who have 15pics of the outside, but forgot the owner spends their time on the inside! Your photos look amazing, like from a brochure, just goes to show what having a white room does.
Great video with some helpful tips…. However Jonny I can’t agree with your comment about topping up the brake fluid reservoir. If that needs topping up then you either have a leak or the pads need replacing. Granted there may be plenty of life left in the pads but don’t top up the fluid, it’s not necessary.
Jonny if you lived in Australia you could get a very good price for it you wouldn't have to detail it in Australia your Jimny would probably sell for $45000 aud to $50000aud my son owns one and he could easily sell it for $45000aud to $50000aud but he doesn't want to sell and the price he paid for it brand new was $32000aud also t G e previous generation Jimnys are selling for good money l saw one advertised for $24000sud and that's what they cost brand new also a suggestion for a new car is another Suzuki a Beleno it's not an SUV but it is a roomy car we bought one last year and l do like how spacious it is and has a good sized boot
Very late Outlander PHEV might work, great cars. Sold mine for a Model Y. The Outlander was better at moving stuff and putting bikes on the back or the roof. The Y has glass everywhere not a good for roof racks and back carriers.
Your video always good. Is that quick detailer spray or if not what is name of two spray that automatic mechanic used your exterior Jimny? It make very very clean and detail??
