I am 3.45mins in and already so on board. I work in geriatric care and know one thing - we do not have to accept the disadvantages of growing old. There is such a huge difference between the patients I see who made informed lifestyle choices and those who didn't prioritise their health (not everyone does). I had a patient the other day - 80+ years planning to go to Cuba with his girlfriend. Fabulous. Took care of his body all his life and stayed strong.
Fantastic info. I have been using bioidentical hrt for 21 years and no one ever believes I am 72. Now you have inspired me to take my chromium twice a day and go off sugar. I know the caffeine has to go because during lockdown here in California and drinking lots of cups of tea with the additional stress, I have a permanent eye twitch. Glad to get the dose of baking soda clarified. Will post an update on using this info later. As always thank you, dynamic Trinny. XO
Cala Mitchell Can I ask what you take specifically & how you stay on track with your body’s requirements & how often you’ve found you have to tweak over 21 years? I’ve been on less than a year and it definitely knocked out symptoms right away but after a few great months, bloodwork showed it didn’t raise body levels to a level that was considered protective (osteoporosis etc) so doc increased estrogen but now have sore breasts & had a period😩Not sure what to do because I do want protective levels. I wonder if bloodwork really always tells the truth..
sweetpeace5 My doc has me on .1 Vivelle dot patch estrodiol, 50 mgs compounded progesterone capsule am/pm, testosterone cream vag. applied three times a week, estriol vag cream 3-4 days a week, pregnenolone (otc version) 50 mgs am/pm, 25 mgs dhea am, plus vitamin d/mk7 combo. The testosterone cream has pretty fast results for me and is key in having drive and enthusiasm. Libido is a whole different issue with relationship factors accounting for more than hormones sometimes.
sweetpeace5 in terms of tweaking it, absolutely yes. Have tried different methods of delivery and doses. At 72, I need more hormonal support than even five years ago. Stress factors, diet is huge and I am not vegetarian but am organic most of the time. I also still have all my lady bits which enters into it too.
Cala Mitchell Oh wow your doc sounds amazing! Thanks for your thoughtful response. What type of physician/specialist do you see? I’m really into learning so I study holistic health & nutrition plus hormones (have all my lady bits as well:) Any doc up on this stuff enough to be giving dhea & pregnenolone let alone testosterone, is 👍🏼. You’re lucky! I’m currently using Divigel estrogen gel (which is Pharma/Rx but plant derived) on thigh & taking 100mg progesterone pill) & it knocked out hot flashes, sleep issues but then bloodwork showed estrogen wasn’t at levels that would protect heart/bones, etc so bumped up estrogen which resulted in a period with really painful breasts😩My docs ofc also does compound bioidentical hormones which is vaginal combo of estrogen/progesterone/testosterone & I’m considering it. But my understanding was vaginal estrogen doesn’t circulate outside vagina so I have more questions about that. I’m very interested in that libido bump from testosterone! I totally agree good health: diet, low stress, exercise is vital. I’m a pescatarian (wild salmon only) & eat very healthy organic fruits/veg (take D3/K2, krill, magnesium, collagen) So important💕
I am fascinated by this woman. Dr Erika has the inside edge on this matter. Its something I'm actively looking at for myself. I put the concept of body identical hormones on a social media menopause group and received very mixed responses and dare I say it but a couple were actually quite aggressive. This is interesting and very progressive!!
The only right thing I heard is : don't drink alcohol, don't use sugar and excercise. It's obvious that you need to eat healthy organic food, a lot of vegetables, avoid everything that harms your body, treat it like a temple, not a garbage box! It's common knowledge. Excercise regularly and you don't need to be on chemicals the rest of your life. I am 48 and I am very healthy, excercise for 10 years, never smoked, use drugs or drink any alcohol in my life! Eat only organic food and no sugar. Stay healthy ladies! 👸
I'm 63 and was taken off GP prescribed HRT when I was 55 because of the perceived 'risks'. I suffer horribly from joint and nerve pain now and would love to know if I could go back on some form of HRT again. However the only way to do this is to consult privately, which I can't afford. I do feel like here in the UK women are 'written off' by the medical profession when we get past a certain age.
I am just working my way through Barbara's stuff, fantastic. I am on video 10 and already know so much more. She if fabulous. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you, thank you. Great topic and fascinating Doctor. Will definitely start by weaning off sugar...(gonna be hard😳); then look into hrt. You both look absolutely stunning,💪🏻💃🏻
Many thanks for this Trinny. My doctor is very opposed to HRT and prescribed anti depressants which I’ve not taken. My symptoms come and go and I feel fine when they go. When the symptoms reappear it’s so unpleasant. Unsure what to do next.
I had hormonal breastcancer at 33yrs old. After chemotherapy, operation and radiotherapy,I had to take Tamoxifan for 2 yrs.Now I am 47yrs,in my menopause, terrible hot flushes, dry eyes,etc....but am not allowed HRT,by my oncologist. You just have to endure it,be glad you're still alive, that is the reaction I get.And then she subcripted anti-depressive medication.I am NOT depressed!I refuse to take these.I do not know any doctor like dr.Erika,so you get stuck, and don't know what to do.
Wondering what others think, if you are through the menopause and feel good, should you consider bio identical hormones ? Also, does anyone know, if you start taking them do you go back to having periods? I have no idea! Xxx
Me too, i Just turned 59 and i feel No different, i exercise daily eat healthy and i would Not Take chemicals Like Candy ( so many sadly do without thinking)
I was prescribed HRT by my doctor I could not get any from any pharmacy. Every pharmacy I went to said they out of stock. Unable to get the patches and tablets. I don’t know what to do.
Sorry for my stupid question (not being english) but what does HRT stand for? Is it bioidentical hormones or just hormones in general? Anyone? Trying to absorb everything this lovely lady says, but some words are lost for me.
With the baking soda question is do you take it with food before food after food or anytime about 4 times a day? Wasn't clear on that one, please help?...x
@@sweetpeace5 thank you l ended doing some research about it as l didn't get message back sooner. Though thank you for letting me know much appreciated. Stay safe...x
Does the HRT makes you have back your periods ? I am 51 and on HRT for the past 2 years when my hormones stated decreasing , but for the last 6 months i am having periods every month, is this normal ? I am suspecting it is because of the HRT 😳
Denise Almeida Carvalho Same here! Really want to know more about this aspect. What tweaks need to be made & how it’s beat determined because seems bloodwork can be all over the place as result that hormones fluctuate
I eork with mostly women, but some men to and sucking in your tummy all day will give you tgat pouch to.. Because your stomach muscles loose tgeir mzscle tone with being held.. Plus it wrecks havoc on your pelvic floor because of a shallo breathing pattern...
