Retro Cereal Toys: Unboxing Magic. Jim and Dawn Cutler asked people to send them old cereal box toys and they received over 100. Most were still "new" in their wrappers. This is a fun look at the toys and gadgets that used to come inside cereal boxes. When Cereal Boxes came With Toys! Some may make you remember and smile.
THE YELLOW BOAT: Friend of the channel, Lee Gordon says: "That little yellow boat in the Retro Cereal Toys video looks like it had a hole at the bottom of the keel. I believe it worked in a similar fashion to the Navy frogmen that came in some Kellogg's cereals (Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, & Sugar Pops) in the 50s. You filled the cavity with baking powder and when it mixed with water it created CO2 that blew out of the frogman's leg and propelled him in the water.
With the boat, I believe the idea was to fill the inside with water and break a little chunk of an Alka Seltzer tablet, drop it in, snap on the top, and that would make the boat go. When it ran out of gas, you'd open it up and drop in some more of the Alka Seltzer."
THE ORANGE STICKY THING: A few good people in the comments have told us it's either a "Wall Walker" that sticks to the wall and then slowly moves to the ground with gravity, or you put a pencil or pen through it and it helps you hold it more easily.
The YELLOW DISK according to Jeff: was to make a bottle a squirt gun around the time of Super Soaker craze. Had a pink one. Used it for drinking instead.
We film everything on Nikon Z lenses and cameras in our own little studio. 99.9% of everything you see is made by us, as we move away from using stock footage.

The sticky thing you throw it at the wall and it creeps down. When the get dirty you clean with soapy water. I've collected these types of things since the eighties. Fast food toys too. Most of mine are still in package. I actually have many you featured.

Yes, it’s a wall or refrigerator door crawler. They also made octopus or spider crawlers as well. I did used to put my pencil in it as well and it would hold it to my desk without rolling off the side of the desk. It’s main function was to crawl down a wall, door or refrigerator door. I would love to have one of these for my 3 year old. Why did cereal companies stop making the cool toys? Blows my mind how things have changed. If it’s not broken and it makes great memories for kids in the 80’s and 90’s don’t fix/change it. Has to be a $$$ thing.

We would send in say 2 box tops and a dime or a quarter & get something really amazing. Once you could send away for mini Civil War cannons...metal and plastic. And Cracker Jack's gave really cool plastic or metal toys, not like the paper junk you get now. Good Times. Thanks for the memories!❤

I can't ID the cereal the car came with as I was in my 20s in the 80s but a similar cereal toy came with Captain Crunch 72 73ish. They were based off a toy car called SSPs that had a flywheel. The real toy as well as the cereal toy worked to better or lesser results by sliding a toothed strip to match a cogged gear on the side of the flywheel and then yanked out to spin the wheel to speed and then set on the ground to run along the ground. I will neither confirm nor deny whether or not that spinning flywheel ever " accidently " found it's way into a sibling's hair or not.
