What a brilliant way to capture the spirit of 100 yrs ago by switching to black and white! Genius stoke, RJ! You've always been able to express the theme of your videos in thoughtful and special ways. You're next level!

Really dig all the reefers. Awesome variety! Love seeing both 18 & 19 running at the same time.

How about the milk car behind the blue camelback ;) I plan to make another video acknowledging the JD reefer

Oh, and that LIRR Milk Reefer .... genius. But what do I know about custom runs. 🙂

That Jacks billboard reefer is cool alright! Too bad I don't like Jack Daniels! Makers Mark, Wild Turkey and Virginia Gentleman sure, but not Jack's, too sweet. Maybe I'll get one anyway...

Wow, that was a well-executed trip back in time RJ! (OK, a few anachronisms worked their way in but that's OK, we can over look them!) Man, I'm old enough to have a hard time getting my head around the fact 1923 is 100 years ago! I remember the Civil War Centennial from 1961 to 1965 when THAT meant 100 years ago! The 1920s? That was 40 years ago! And I knew people who lived through the 1920s! Jeez, where do the years go? Scary actually! Thanks again!

Always fun to watch your vids. Great camelbacks ( widow makers) as they were called in the coal region of NE PA. Keep making when U have the time.

RJ: I enjoy your videos very much. It refreshing to see a moderate-sized layout on RU-vid. I have a small layout. It measures 55 inches wide by 102 inches long. I can relate to your point about not having room for larger radius curves. Right now I’m limited to 036 on my outer loop. I was considering replacing the outer loop with 048 to be able to get a couple of legacy steam engines but, it would require a lot of work and a complete rebuild as I have nine switches. I’m not sure the pride of ownership out weighs the expense for what would basically be a circle. I also wanted to thank you for showing the Camelbacks. I model the Pennsylvania and New York Central during the first 60 years of the 20th Century. I wasn’t sure I would fully appreciate having a camelback but seeing run on your layout cemented my opinion and I’ve ordered one of the new Legacy Pennsylvanias. I too have a new C-Liner (Pennsylvania) and like it very much. Do you plan to add a FasTrack Sensor track? I did and it’s pretty cool. I’ve mine set before my crossing so the legacy locomotives blow their whistles as they pass the through the crossing. I’m not on RU-vid but I regularly post photos and videos on Facebook. I’m a moderator on the Lionel with TMCC / Legacy group. Keep up the good work. Richard Hohn

I think the trains look great in black and white, your layout is so great because it really seems to looks well with trains of this time period

Love the Jack Daniel’s Billboard Woodside Reefer! Got to say that I’m not as much of a fan of Billboard reefers nowadays as I tend to prefer more of the traditional style look but I have to admit that Jack Daniels one was pretty freaking sweet!

Hey RJ great video. Having it in black and white gives it a real classic look. The camelback is one of my favorite engines so I made sure to grab one for my collection. I have #18 from the Lionel Catalog. Unfortunately, I was not able to get one of the NLOE special run camelbacks. Are the passenger cars you are running MTH?

Very nice run RJ
@gusshadleythelunaticfromar7125
HEY RJ, that fairbanks C Liner you got from trainworld, kinda grows on you. So ugly yea, but appealing. The camel backs are unique too. I like to get a lion chief version.
@gusshadleythelunaticfromar7125
I like the way you took us back 100 years, that was cool. Yea there was a Taco Bell in 1923 lol 😂
@therosejewelrailroad489
@therosejewelrailroad489 Год назад
Neat idea for going back in time. If Taco Bell had been around 100 years ago. It would have been a big hit. With Taco Bell on Long Island back then though there would have been more bathrooms/outhouses.😂
