You legitimately helped me understand how to use the calculator. Thank you for posting this many years ago, it’s going to help me in my business finance class now!
Daehyun, I just wanted to say a quick thank you for this tutorial. I'm four and a half years removed from business school and I needed to brush up on FV/PV/NPV calculations. This was really well done! Thanks again! - Wes
Your explanation of why you add a "1" to the equation as well as your explanation of what the negative value means was missing from my finance course. Thanks so much!
I just saved enough money to buy myself an HP 10BII and seeing this tutorial sure made calculating easier. Before I memorized the formula to use (either FV or PV Annuity) and write it down to solve my unknown. I used a TI-84 Plus or TI-30XS (both show multiple lines and is great for me) to do the financial math, but I see quicker maths with this new finance calculator. It is similar to statistics where you are provided a formula to solve the percentile but the scientific calculator just cuts the work to just numbers (click click and solve). Anyhwho, this video helped me decide to buy that calculator used on the video. I like how the buttons make a click sound to register a command. very nice!
Awesome, i was breaking my head why calculator cant do this. Book had a mistake on using the PMT button. You showed the orange shift need for p/YR. Great and Thanks !
Daehyun Kim should I just clear the memory after each calculation just to be safe? I don't know if I can remember exactly when I would need to clear the memory and when I wouldn't. First time using this calculator.
Thanks for the video it's so useful but I have an inquiry for the third topic you spoke about " ANNUITY" is it for how to get The present value annuity , to be more specific ..? Thanks again
Hello Kim, I'm doing a calculation for the number of periods for an annual severance payout, that pays at the end of every year.I plug into I= 6.5 PV=-597,500 PMT= 35,000 FV=-0. How come I get no solution?
Hallo, thanks so much for the video - is helping so much in preparation for exams. Just a quick q: when you were working out the annuity, why did you press PV?? Should it not be FV? As I want to see what my value will be at the end of the 5 years? Thanks !!
Whenever I do annuities with different compounding periods to payment periods I get the answer a couple dollars off where is the “c/y” function on this
