This ride is part six of a ride filmed on 2023.09.23 in which Bruce, Jon and I head out to Hood River, OR and cross the Columbia River. We then ride to the Bridge Of The Gods on the Washington side of the Columbia and cross back to Oregon. We finish by riding past Vista House and take side roads through Clakamas County and finally split up in Lake Oswego in a downpour.
In this video we ride 35 miles from Vista House to Lake Oswego, OR. I set my GoPro to timelapse for this video because nothing in this video was going to be as scenic as the previous five videos.

This was an interesting way to watch this leg of our ride. I could watch more of these though I do like your regular ride vids as well. What was up with the bit where the view tilted toward the sky?

The time-lapse videos are fun and they do compress time nicely. That was like a 40 minute ride and the time-lapse was like 5 minutes. When I know I am going to ride a route that I have ridden multiple time I will always switch on time-lapse. I use the GoPro time-lapse mode and I do not do it in post so I have to make the decision of how I am going to film before the ride begins. I knew at Vista House that I just wanted to film the ride home in time-lapse. I must not have tightened the GoPro mount enough when I was putting the camera back on the bike. I think when stuff like that happens its funny so I just leave it in. I have an entire commute video that I shot and posted to the channel where the GoPro filmed it all upside down. Hysterical. I think in for that video I started the camera recording when it was off the bike and thought it would re-orient when I mounted the camera. I did not find out until later that whatever orientation the camera is in when it starts filming is where it thinks the horizon line is. So it was just all upside down. I probably should organize all of my time-lapse videos into their own playlist on the channel.
