Hi Stephen I have to admit when at a sink I usually leave residual water on the face, after washing the remaining lather-stubble mix off. However when at the camera I dry between passes as I'm using a bowl of water at most. The only difference I have found with the latter is the need to add a little more water to the bristles of the brush, other than that a good soap/cream should still provide enough cushion and in particular slickness.
Hey Nishy, what's the reasoning for drying your face between each pass? I wash off the lather and wet my face before each pass, do you find a dryer face works better?
Hi Avnish! I am considering getting the Timeless OC .95 I have been wet shaving for couple of years but i am little intimidated by the concept of an Open Comb. How safe is the Timeless OC .95?
Hi Ashwin, hope you are keeping well. It's a very safe razor. Smooth feel with regards to the teeth on the open comb. It does however have plenty of feedback, by that I mean blade feel and audio. It is extremely efficient and doesn't clog up if being used to shave heavy growth. A great razor.
@@Avnishfromedgware Thanks for this Avnish! My beard growth is very similar to yours so this acts as a good reference point! Will most likely take the plunge!
Hiya I haven't tried the Rockwell razor. The 0.68mm Timeless is very efficient, little difference between this and the 0.95mm blade gap. I would relate the 0.68mm standard bar to the ATT R1
Thank you for answering so fast. Highly appreciated! I have the ATT R1 and love its efficiency, but I wish it was smoother. Does the .68 feel smoother in your opinion? And is there a big difference between the standard bar and the scalloped head? I like the looks of the latter best. Thanks again!
No problem. The smoothness is very much technique dependent. However I find the Timeless to work better over larger degrees of angle. So in essence making it an easier razor to shave with, when compared to the R1. In my opinion the difference between scalloped, standard and open comb is slight. The open comb is slightly more efficient but definitely louder. The scalloped sits in between the two other plates.
Alright, thanks a lot. I think I'll go with the scalloped .68 base and cap. Since I only use my DEs for head shaves, I'm very excited to try it myself. Haven't really found any reviews on it as a head shaver.
I'm sure it will be great. Here is a link detailing the Timeless pass around, or how it was considered by other members: www.atgshaving.com/threads/timeless-razors-pass-around.2939/ Feel free to join and participate. Also the titanium Timeless is another to consider.
