I'm learning the art of the cryptic and these videos are a huge help. I must admit I feel intensely proud on the rare occasions that I manage to figure out a clue before you!

Skara Brae and old ancient settlement in Scotland. The first time I got a clue before you!! Its also one of the towns in the old video game Ultima Online! I'm terrible at crosswords, but I love watching your channel.

Isomorph means corresponding (in mathematics) and is formed from material (letters) in that phrase reversed. I enjoy how concise you are with your solces.

The Leith Police dismisseth us - without this little bit of knowledge, I couldn't have finished! I think one person says hip, hip, and then everyone says horray, at least some of the time. By mentioning cinema, the impressionistic clue is trying to make you think of Jean Renoir, and not his father. I only knew of Skara Brae because of the Irish folk group.

I didn't know about the Irish folk group but there is a 5000 year old Neolithic settlement in the Orkney Islands.

A challenge but you got there in the end, as always! Nicely done!

So so happy you managed to get SKARA BRAE at the end there. Thank you for another fantastic solve. I am just starting out learning myself and the ease with which you appear to solve most of these puzzles is an inspiration. Dave

Even if the number of letters was correct, the wordplay would mean that the “o” had to come at the end, which it clearly didn’t
