well i want to know what we have for sure on for timing so i spent the time to check the timing. we had 16-17 degrees rigtht now with the the timing gear one teeth skipped, good starting point i think. also we installed the ‪@JustRaceParts‬ monitor that will give us data logs. Now we have a bunch of stuff when can see,

👍👍👍👍... Timing light would b a good way to verify/adjust timing...seen Savage Fab use one...that engine sounds healthy... probably not enough get up and go fir someone like you tho🤣..👍👍👊

Every forum I see says 1 tooth is about 10 degrees. So this is saying we’ve got about 4 instead? I backed the pump off 1/4” with 1 tooth advanced, which according to the interwebs should give approx 4* timing with room to go. Not an exact science, but if this is true in the video I should probably bump the pump an 1/8th up

Why is your oil pressure actually your fuel pressure? As for tooth jump it is 10 degrees. There are 72 teeth on the pump gear and it turns once for 720deg of the crank so that is 10deg. I imagine your sensor is reading start of injection at the injector rather than port closure at the pump so there is a few degrees there difference between the static values the factory gives.

With the timeing light I have had issues getting it to work and consistent . first i bought the blue point pulse counter from snap on brand new would not pulse and if it did not consistent at all tried multiple lights too Sent that back bought the sealy one that looks like yours i can get that one to pulse with a few inconsistency’s it changes by how much pressure is on the adapter on the line and what direction the adapter is on there. I made a timing pointer with that timing tape i printed out and is stuck to my fluid damper also Did drop valve method to verify tdc accuracy.

How does the timing light injection timing at idle compare to the injection pump static timing? Did you check timing at various engine rpm and power levels? It is my understanding that the timing light would show injection timing advancing as injection duration increases for more power.

Why u have very fansy and expensive dyno and then u dont have anything data or sensors plugged on dyno? 😅 what i think and only my opinion is.. if i have dyno, i want everything possible datalog and info to dyno sheet, easy to compare diffrent pulls and modifications 😊
