I LOVE the almost constant smile on the prosecutors face while the COURT APPOINTED incredibly educated expert is on the stand. This doctor did the job he was asked to do. He looked through and almost memorized the documents and medical information in this case and had an amazing ability to recollect conversations he and Tim had. I love this witness/expert. Unbiased and without an agenda!!!
I must have missed an episode I don't know HOW he have custody or did the mother leave them with him without contesting it. I have done some psychiatric nursing only as a nurse aide but I do remember matron telling us you will feel like you can like you can help someone but always remember Don't look for a conscience where there isn't one always put your own safety first NOBODY put these children first. I think the nana may have had she known more.
I really like this Dr. He knows how to handle these attorneys in a way that is authoritative, yet not in a condescending way. He's confident is what he knows, and that's that. I believe his opinion is the correct one.
He gets paid a salary from the state..the judge picks the expert....to be fair..for the jury's sake and fairness..he is not for or against either side... it's no sweat of his a** either way
@@Curious-Irish-Angel I understand all that and agree he is an objective, impartial expert not paid "extra" for testifying. He made it easy to understand how he came to his no insanity conclusion
I LOVE how this Dr. actually looks over at Timmy when he repeats something that Timmy said!!! THAT speak volumns that this Dr. is telling unbiased truth!! Poor ol' spoiled, lying narcissistic Timmy couldn't fool this Dr. like he wanted / tried to!!! Bahaha...someone much smarter than you Mr. Jones!! This Dr. rocks!
Debbie D Absolutely!! This Dr is brilliant and so so knowledgeable! Way smarter than little Timmy and his attorneys!! But why are the defence seemingly wasting his time?
I really like this doctor. Very thorough, intelligent, clear, no nonsense. I like the judge, too, and I love that pink tie! Prosecution is great. The defense team are all obnoxious and fighting a desperate losing battle to prove insanity. All of this has been a huge waste of tax payer dollars. No one believes that Tim is schizophrenic or that his head injury is responsible for any of his behavior. He is a religious nut with anger issues and drug problems. He deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison, and cut the meds because he doesn't need them for a disorder he doesn't have.
@@jomcmenamin4579 And as this doctor points out, the brain scan may have been abnormal but his behavior wasn't indicative of any frontal lobe damage, that you can have an abnormal brain scan without displaying any physical or mental symptoms of brain damage.
gloria poljak in my opinion he comes across as someone who doesn’t believe Tim Jones’s act. Jones is so full of it & this guy is nicely calling him on his bull.
@@sweetlycreepingin9910 - As stated during his testimony, he makes a yearly salary, he isn't paid hourly, he wasn't paid extra for this case. He was appointed by the court. He does not represent prosecution or defense. Unlike the the "experts" the defense hired that got paid $25,000 to review a few documents and met with Tim once... this doctor has made it clear that he reviewed thousands of documents and met with Tim on at least 4 separate occasions. He was extremely thorough and even gave Tim the benefit of the doubt on several points where he could easily have been a bit harsher in his judgments. He was more than fair to Tim in every way. I can't imagine how you came to the conclusion that he was "bought and paid for" because there is absolutely nothing to support that statement.
Love this Dr. Well done. Experts should not be paid they should be the same as the jury. It would be more accurate if there was no monetarily value to their opinion. They should also be working in the field at the time of there involvement
And how exactly are they supposed to make a living? Experts can spend hours on research and court appearances. And you expect them to do it for nothing?
Mrlrobertson not just 5 kids. It was his biological 5 children. He was abusive and cocky and he tortured those kids with excessive m and bizarre punishments.
I would say so. I'm a doctor as well, not a psychiatrist but I am obsessed with forensic psychiatry and have done summer internships in the field conducting about 15 assessments on schizophrenics to determine if their treatment was affecting their symptoms in any way. This man doesn't have schizophrenia. I was shocked the other expert thought so. I mean, it was obvious this man had substance induced psychosis. And yes, he appears to be quite the narc. This psych was on point. And thank God justice was served.
I love this doctor. He knows what he’s talking about and went so in depth into Timmy’s life and mind. Little Timmy was no match for this doctor. I love the way he answers the questions and his quirkiness
Tracie Wasley Yes, BUT, remember the testimony about spice explained that the manufactures are constantly changing the formula so as soon as one is made illegal, another is developed & being sold. It's a cat & mouse game. Spice, which is called K2 in my area, & other designer drugs are currently sold in gas stations, although most (at least in my area) are in low socio-economic, urban communities. The scariest designer drug, by far, that I've seen is commonly called "bath salts". Spice is a synthetic marijuana but bath salts is synthetic meth or cocaine. I work in the psych field & have had the unfortunate experience of seeing many admitted into inpatient psychiatric facilities for acute psychotic episodes due to bath salts & often withdrawal from spice/K2. Let me tell you, it isn't pretty. The most terrifying aspect of these drugs, in my opinion, is that for a certain percentage of people that use them, the psychotic symptoms can be permanent. By far the vast majority of the time, drug induced psychosis will subside within 1-3 weeks of stopping the drug. BUT, for some, the psychosis is permanent. Try explaining to the parents of a bright, athletic & popular teenager, with no history of mental illness, that there is no other course of treatment left, other than time, to treat their sons hallucinations-from bath salts. It's heart breaking. Many parents are unaware of these types of drugs & therefore don't talk to their children about them. Best advice I can give is not only talk to your kids but also their friends! My son is only 13 but can probably name every pharmacological side effect of the major synthetic drugs & many of the "typical" drugs. But as adamant as I am against these drugs, I'd say the best thing parents can do is have an open & honest relationship w/their kids so their kids feel comfortable coming to them about anything.
@@maryb6672 I don't know much about bath salts, sounds awful. it's called k2 by me also. wicked stuff. it's been banned here since 2013. thank god I havnt seen anything new sence
@@maryb6672 there were shops selling the stuff here in Ireland. In my town the shop was burnt down twice by a street drug gang, it was impacting their business so much. Same in other towns. All closed down now, been illegal for some years.
Jackie Browne Nataun (no idea how to spell the sons name that died first) died after Tim beat him & forced him to run, do push-ups etc for hours. Once he discovered he was dead, Tim went into panic mode, realizing he was going to be in big trouble. At that point, he came up with the plan to kill the remaining 4 children, dismember their bodies, dissolve them in acid/chemicals & then burn any remains. His plan was to make the children completely disappear & then likely himself also. Certainly, this plan was illogical & diabolical but his motivation was to avoid being arrested.
Jackie Browne Sadly he won’t tell. But a guess is he was tired of caring for them, he didn’t want Amber or his Dad to take them and his drug use had increased significantly.
I dont believe that kid died from exercise either. I think he beat him to death. They say he was too decomposed to tell. The doctor who did the autopsy said small kids hyoid bone sometimes does not break during strangulation because their bones are more flexible. His was not broken so add exercise that warms you up makes you more flexible plus his age. That explains in my semipro opinion the bone not being broken. I say semipro because i went to nursing school. And also worked as psychiatric nurse so extra classes there
Yes, that's almost certainly a part of his history. If you look closely, at times, you can see its not just the left side of his mouth, but extends upwards to the left eye, which is typical of Bell's palsy. I'd imagine it was many years ago because the symptoms are slight at this point. Of course, this has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of doctor he is or the quality of his testimony. In my opinion, he was the best, certainly the most interesting, expert witness that testified.
This doctor was the only expert who came across as competent. Every other so called expert called in by the defence all came across as nothing but glorified camp counsellors.
It's odd they were allowed to have them in the courtroom. When I served jury duty no one except attorneys were permitted phones in the courtroom. And the judge had no issue reminding the "audience " multiple times a day.
I’ve never heard it pronounced with an h sound by anyone who seems well educated. I’m not saying I know for sure...I just say that because I’ve wondered before too which pronunciation is correct.
