The energy during this encore when you see it live is ABSOLUTELY UNREAL. The audience cheers as if Tina Turner herself is actually performing. When it was over, I said to myself, “It’ll be a miracle if I’m not deaf tomorrow morning.” That’s how awesome it was. It was a moment I will never, ever forget.
For those who didn't get to see Tina Turner live, this is as close as they're going to get now. Sad, but bittersweet. Tina's legacy will live on in her music, her books, movies, and this musical. Long live the Queen of Rock.
Did anyone else notice when Adrienne called the young girl up (Skye, I think she said her name was) and she was singing, Adrienne was almost guiding her through it?! I mean, aside from giving a 6-star encore with an ANKLE BRACE and in heels, she was also helping Skye with her performance. No wonder she won the Tony.
Saw this last night; the best performance I’ve ever seen in my life (& I’ve seen a lot of shows.) The whole cast was great and she’s from another universe! PHENOMENAL!!!
It was crazy, I went last night again, Nkeki was "ill" ten minutes before intermission, and Kayla stepped in. In three shows, I've seen 3 Tinas, and Kayla twice.
BuddyBroadway I don’t think I’ll get to see Adrienne since I live in PA and can only do matinees and she only does evenings. I’m glad you got to see her though. How did you like the broadway version compared to the West End version?
