FULL DISCLOSURE: I have heard the original before, many many many times. However I have not heard Tina S perform the song, so this is considered a fresh reaction. How's this one gonna go? Not surprising, I certainly liked her version....better than Vai's even. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the best songs on P&W....but I just like her version better.

I just watched Herman Li react to Tina doing a cover of Through the Fire and the Flames. Some of his reaction included him saying, “oh shit”, “oh f..k”, and “that was an insane cover.” He gave her an open invitation the next time he is in France for her to come and hang out with them if she wants to. He also said he would love to jam with her if she would like to do that. That is for all the haters who said she does not really play anything live. What was funny was he made a lot of comments that were similar to yours in that he said a cover should never be something done note for note, it should be the persons interpretation while still maintaining the original melody. I just thought you would find this interesting.

I absolutely LOVE her style. I hate that she got all the "she looks bored playing.." it's called The Zone - and she's ALL THE WAY IN THE ZONE!

It annoys me that Me getting in the zone results in a crappy version of whatever I'm butchering at the moment while no one complains but she is doing some godlike level performance and people complain she is not showing emotion... Are they not using their ears?! There is a deluge of emotion on the playing itself!

Tina's version of this gives me chills and goosebumps. It's obvious to me that her haters have never played guitar in their lives or they would know she's really playing. They must have miserable lives.

Think about how good she is: Tina posted her video "For The God Of Love" on December 12, 2015, Steve VAI watched it on December 13, 2015 and tweeted congratulations to Tina and reposted the video on his page. And Tina S replied : "I am honored!! Thank you Mr Vai" And for me, this is the best cover she ever made. Maybe because i love Steve Vai.

I still can't understand how people could pull on Tina S., very few people in this world achieve such a technical and musical skill, even seen over decades. I also think that it was some wickedness that Tina shut down, on the other hand, she had just reached such a high level. She just set other priorities for herself, that's OK, maybe something will come again. Are your 9.5 justified? Yes! 😉 as you said, it is not a copy, technically you can cover everything if you have the appropriate skills, but really interpret it yourself that is just a different league. That's exactly where you can screw it up. Tina delivered here. I don't think Steve Vai would nag there either, but rather proud to have inspired another person in such a way, that is how all fans should see it. Great reaction!

She added some "aching" feels in her interpretation of the piece. This is not better nor worst than the original, it's just different. To like it or not is just a point of view and my point of you is I like it a lot, I mean A LOT that doesn't mean I would put the composer of this masterpiece Steve Vai in second place, that would be foolish. Tina S. definitely understood Steve's mind and we have the chance to listen to her take on it. We're blessed 🌟

Tina S has been playing guitar since she was 6 years old. She was in her teens when she played all of these covers. She said she is busy with school and practicing her next piece of music but she will be back! She's definitely a prodigy. She was practicing classical music at 6 years old! You need to watch Herman Li's reaction to her playing Through the Fire and Flames. He was in awe of her raw talent.

The more I listen to her the more I realise that she is something very special and unique. And that makes it even more mysterious that she has disappeared. She could just simply had enough of practising and playing. But on the other hand she really seems to enjoy it. There MUST be someone out there who knows where she is! I played Steve Vai interpretation couple time and as a guitarist , I can tell you that Tinas version. Is wayyyyyy superior in tone, technically, and improvisation . This is my honest and professional opinion.

I've seen Tina play that a thousand times and now I've seen a few reaction videos, but this is the first time I've seen an actual musician watch and give proper critical analysis. It was very cool to see it through that lens. Thanks for doing this video.

Is this definitely the same girl? I'd love it to be her. I've been trying desperately to find out what she's doing now, and whether we'd see her again. The whole world needs to see her again! There's an idiot on some of these blogs claiming she died...but with no proof...just because we haven't heard from her for a few years. I googled that studio, but couldn't get any info...

The people who say things like "it's not exactly like the original artist did it..." are the people who think that musicians do covers to be as good as the original artist (or better). No, musicians do covers of songs that they love to give their interpretation and, most importantly, to honor the original artist. I agree with you about artists covering songs putting their own little twists on the song. Also, every cover of hers that I have seen has a flub or two but the parts she gets right, she gets RIGHT... Definitely better than the people lambasting her for the flubs. Besides, the flubs show that she is actually playing it (for the people who think she isn't playing it) and that she is a human. Just like every other guitarist ever... lol

Like you, this was my fave too. I listened to it so many times, I dreamed it. lol And I constantly watched his video I was so hooked. My boyfriend at the time, played guitar, he couldn't learn most of it. smh ha Anyway this girl has me shook right from the get. A prodigy for sure!

Personally I give it a 10,5 on 10. She is perfect. As you say doing a cover is not playing exactly the studio version. Even Steve Vai does variations each time he plays it live. And that's the fun listening to different versions. And Tina S is back now with her own band Spin Twice.

I love every single thing she's ever posted, but my three favorites are this one, 'Moonlight Sonata', and Gary Moore's 'The Loner', in no particular order. Each of those is a masterpiece that stands on it's own. Impossible to choose one over another.

I have been watching Altitudes at least once a day for the past months, to give you an idea what you have been missing out on so far :) Even in slow motion the pace of it is impressive! To be clear: I mean the Tina S cover of Altitudes, not Jason Becker. Becker complimented her for it!

Exceptional. I rather doubt the camera work is dubbed over a separate studio track. Syncing to an entire song, all in one take without cuts, isn't that easy to do. Even though there is professional software out there to help sync video it's something that takes a lot of practice in itself, and it helps if a video is segmented. One of the reasons they like to over use jump cuts in music videos is the musicians can't sync worth a damn. Note: On her rendition of 'Dragon Force - Through the Fire and Flames' she can visibly be seen chewing gum while shredding at breakneck speed. I got a good chuckle out of it. If she somehow managed to play, chew gum, and sync the video at the same time, she has more talents than just playing guitar.

Can you react to her others covers? I really appreciate your way to explain her music. And don't listen to the trolls or haters. My personal opinion is she plays "live"? It depends on the video, if she plays one take it's "live"(just one cam), if you see multiples cam/views, the sound is probably taken at once, but the video is not. I do believe they did like that.

I bet you’ve never heard of Turbonegro. They’re an iconic death punk band from Norway. They have one of the biggest fan clubs out there. You will never see a band like this again. I was fortunate to see them twice only, before the singer left. Check it out, don’t be afraid 😱 it’s rock n roll, punk, slight pop at its weirdest. The Jackass movies play them a lot in their movies.

It's easy to become a hater when someone criticise something you idolize. However the best way to deal with it is just to move on. But I guess younger people have a harder time doing so, so they become haters. But with time you learn that this type of behaviour only detracts more. The band I hold the highest is Versailles, and some reactors have had a very different opinion to me. But then I just take that as someone having a different take than me.

They extra pinch harmonics that she adds to the performance that you love is what Vai has been doing on his live performances along with other liberties he adds to his own song. She is amazing, but it sounds like a cover of Vai's live version of playing this song.

If Tina cannot hook you, nobody can, and I will have to score you at a 3.2. Ha! 👍 She probably had 10,000 hours of practice prior to this recording. No need for her to deceive us. She could probably play it in her sleep.
