FINALLY! Out of dozens of reviews someone talks and shows how the battery comes out, installs, and weighs. And what about if I live on a 3rd floor walk up? Riding video is cool, but tell me about the bike. I'm buy a Banshee this afternoon. Thank you.
Hey! Loved how easy your videos are to watch; Steady cameras, and A+ scripts. Could you do a video on the Super SOCO CPx? I'm torn between the two, and I would love to know if its as capable on the roads.
Nice review - I have one and agree it has adequate power and that it is fun/easy to ride. However, I notice the bike limits out to about 60 KPH on steeper grades. Also the way I ride the bike results in a real world 50-60KM range but it still works for what I use it for.
Do you have experience perhaps with 150cc moped/scooters? Or 125cc pitiless? In wondering what these accelerate like. My 4speed manual 140cc pitiless is quite quick off the line, but my 150cc moped gym is a turtle comparatively. Not well cruise at 55mph. I know sur rons are quick up to speed and wheelie pretty easily.
That range is a real shame. There are a lot of people that have the expectation that it needs to go hundreds and hundreds of kilometers to even be buyable but I am not one of those people. However I'd need the bike to be able to comfortably go 100km at close to 100km/h speeds. Just because it would enable me to go visit my mother on the bike. I don't have a car and am not particularly keen on getting two bikes so that is my barrier of entry. That and cost. I can't afford a 20k bike lol. I am keen on going electric though. There are just advantages I can't overlook. Low maintenance, can store it in my house without breathing in fumes, no filling stations, automatic, etc. Depending on the price of the batteries and their weight I suppose I could always just buy and carry the spares when I needed to take that trip. But I can't find where to buy them on their website which has me in a bit of a worry. Are these some kind of standard?
I am glad there are some lower cost options but the range is kind of what keeps me away. 120km is a lot but that'd be city range right? So what would that be assuming you gotta have to have it close to pinned? I am not a range fiend that expects it to surpass my gas bike's tank but I don't want to have to charge the bike midway through going to a family's house for a holiday. I don't need it to go particularly fast just fast enough to legally use the roads. But the range is really important. My best compromise would be to buy extra batteries for when I need to do a longer trip but I don't see any way to actually buy extra batteries from their store. I don't know if it is like a standard size or whatever but that also has me worried for the future. What value is an electric bike if when the battery goes flat within the decade it too just dies without soldering skills.
Great video! I live in Port Moody and I need a commuter. Can I ride a limited speed motorcycle only using my class 5 ? Btw do you advise any other LSM bike other than that? So far for our area I believe this is the best choice we have for the buck. Thank you!
hey i just moved to vancouver and was thinking of buying this to commute to work and use to go around since its just me. would this be a good idea to use during the winter out here? is it ideal to use all year round?
Yes it is, but is classed at the lowest scale so it is relatively low cost compared to larger motorcycles. Also, if you buy the 70 KPH limited version it can be driven with only a drivers license.
Buenas! NADA. ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA.
2 cents a km is 2$ for 100km. Honda PCX or Yamaha XMAX do around 1.5l to 100km. If fuel is at 1.5$ per L that's about 2.25$ per 100km and the XMAX does 130km/h... Same cost, way faster and with a full tank you do around 400km... 0.25$ difference is still very affordable, IF fuel is 1.5$L Oh, and don't forget storage. There's enough space under the seats for anything you might bring for any daily commute
isn't clear to me if it is comfortable to be used for 2 persons... I guess the rider need to seat to much in front... do you have any considerations about that? And the seat appear to be very hard.
Yes, the seat is very firm, you wouldn't want it to be more firm, but I found it comfortable. You do need to scoot a little forward w. another passenger, but it feels fine. Mind you I'm 5 foot 8, and my wife is a little shorter than me. If you're a tall couple, maybe that'd be a different story. but certainly enough power to haul 2 adults.
@@jacobevans18, yeah, it's a safety feature. If you pin the throttle, you're not going to lay rubber, or wheelie accidentally. It ensures a smooth start off the line at the intersection. At least, that's what I'm guessing is behind the engineering.
its not even a 125cc equivalent , 11kW peak doesn't count because EV's rated by continues power output. ! Es1 Pro is derestricted 50cc moped like Aprilia Rs50 2T
@@Ray88G There is a point here that hasn't been touched. The performance curve of an engine, no matter if it is ICE or Electric is represented by the torque related to the input, output power and the speed and efficiency as a difference between the input and the output power. As you know the efficiency of an ICE is between 20 and 30% compared to 80 to 95% for electric engine. Therefore you can't compare ICE and Electric Engine by their Horse power. Another element is the instant acceleration of electric motor compared to ICE engine with considering its gears or centrifugal clutch. Both torque and acceleration are the most important specs of a motorcycle. When electric motorbike is being compared to ICE bike it is irrelevant to look just at the numbers and simply convert Watts to HP, but to look at their performance curves and particularly at their torque and acceleration. The Tinbot can easily reach more than 130km/h and still has a reasonable torque for the city but it is designed to perform as a bike that can handle easily hills and beat the road traffic.
@@MotorinoCanada I know, we can't fully compare ice vs electric. But peak ice power, for example 11kW for 125cc is continious power of an EV and it should not be peak power like Kollter has done..! For example at higher speeds Super Soco TC max becomes dangerous because it cuts power and bike slows down. Immagine of your doing max speed down a hill and there's a 30 tonne lorry just being you and your bike cuts power and slows down to save battery cells from overheating. At higher speed Thse 125cc so called equivalents need at least 8kW of continious power which equates to Hp and ice powe output.
