Gnarly. It's no coincidence they remind you of a RAT either as Orange amps are often paired with them quite favorably for how well they blend together :)

It's amazing to me what just one tube can do. I really think it adds something extra lacking in solid state preamp pedals and amp sims.

It doesn't do that much. It just does it cheap, with these hybrids. There are some really good solid states out there, but they cost as much glass. These little single tube preamps with solid state power, are really economical, but the limitation is that at over around 40% volume, start to lose all the dynamics and past noon, just sound like cheap solid state. But, definitely at lower volume and modest gain, these things sound great and behave like a 'real' amp.

@@springbloom5940 When you say it doesn't do much, I have to differ having heard the Preamp house from Joyo, Tech 21 pedals, other analog preamp emulation pedals and various digital effects, including plugins. I hear a more 3d sound with it than can be achieved otherwise. But your comments about tone and volume are warranted. Personally, I'd mic a cab and prob be fine with such output. Replacing a ton of tubes gets costly, moreover.

Although impressed on the over drive channel, the clean channel was odd though saw you turning knobs and nothing really seemed to happen. On the over drive the pedals obviously gave it a lot of tone but for such a dinky amp and great to see the flexibility for different outputs and effects loops on such a dinky little thing.

We used a Two Notes Captor X load box and IR Loader…I’m not 100% sure what the IR was but it may have been a Celestion Greenback 1x12 with a 57 and 421…which we used as our main DynIR for a LONG time…but we may have used an Orange style cab for this video…not sure sorry!!
