You make great video creator channel I'm very enjoyable to watching your video thanks you so much for your sharing please have a good day from Angkor Wat temple ❤❤
I wish i have a camper too. Its very convenient. Maintenance is very important and having a toolbox with the right equipments solves a lot of problems.
Campers are definitely nice. But we had lots of fun adventures in out tent and also staying in hotels or even just day trips before we got our camper. Do what you can with what you have!
Hello dear friend ❤️😊 It's a lovely video sharing ❤️📷 It's great. Thanks for sharing this with us giving another a big Big like thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍 See you again take care God bless you 🙏🙏🙏🕊️ Keep intouch ❤️👍
Love your attitude and honestly, lol! Tim would have definitely thrown that grease gun! Since we are first time trailer owners, really appreciate seeing what other people do for maintenance, what products, etc.
Thanks so much. We are trying to keep it real. We've only had our camper for a year and a half so we're still learning as well. We appreciate you and enjoy watching your adventures!
Hello friends greetings from England 🇬🇧 Beth and Simon watching 😮. Great to do your advise 👍 and make all the routine checks ✔️ before you go . Have a wonderful day Simon and Beth ❤❤❤
What a great video! We're full time, so we don't have a "beginning" of a season. However, it was a Great reminder for us to check things on our rig. Checking the silicon seals stood out to us the most, as well as using the dry lube on hinges and locks. We have a bunch of locks. 😂Thank you for such a great video! 👍😊🐢
Thank you! Yes, you'll have to put a date on the calendar to do some of your routine maintenance since the weather won't be a reminder for you. That dry lube is fantastic stuff! We use it throughout the camping season as well. So handy to have around. Thanks so much for watching and for your support. Safe travels!
All tuned-up and ready to roll (great tips). I've come very close to using the sledgehammer on many occasions 😂... I hope that first trip of the season is a huge success...😊✌️
Glad we aren't the only ones to pull out a sledgehammer from time to time. Ha ha ha! Thanks so much! We're actually getting ready to head out on our second trip of 2023. First trip was a bit of a whirlwind because the weather cut it short. But yes, we're up and running for the new year. I hope you've been out and about a lot already this year. Looking forward to watching your next adventure!
Hello guys. Thanks for showing us your maintenance routine and tips. When it comes to maintenance is also better to be safe than sorry. One day I would love to have a camper where I can drive around for my adventures. Have a great week.🙂🙂
You are so right. It's definitely important to keep up on maintenance with something you'll be pulling down the highway. We are enjoying our camper. We used to use a tent or stay in hotels before we had one. We're actually out camping right now! Hope you also have a great week.
Great video. But just some info. Our trailer has Dexter EZ Lube axles too. Their info online seems to shows that squirting grease in the zirk fitting and turning the wheel is a regular maintenance thing. However, when we bought our trailer from some nice people that maintained it meticulously, I found the guy over greased the bearings (like everytime they came home from a long trip) he blew out the seal on one wheel and it got all over the brake shoes and corroded them on one side. Just an FYI. I called Dexter about it and they seemed to back pedal on the issue. And said that squiring grease in was for emergency purposes only. If on a long trip and you know you will surpass 10k miles…and want to add a few squirts. And that they recommend the wheel come off and hand repack/inspect the bearings after 10,000 miles or 12 months. Basically a CYA stance. But the bearings do need inspected to avoid issues. Anyway, I am going to have our repacked every 2 years since we don’t reach 10k miles or close to it in a year. The service manager said if anything just squirt a 2 or 3 squirts of grease in if I think it needs it to avoid blowing out the seal. If you pump a bunch of grease and get no old grease out, that’s a bad sign that a seal broke. Spinning the wheel constantly helps distribute the grease to avoid this. More than you wanted to know. Lol. Just sharing what I know. Hope you have a great season camping 😀
Thanks for sharing your experience, Ben. We were following the instructions from the companies who made our camper and the axels but we will definitely check into what you said and will be careful.
@@TakeATripTogether Yeah, no worries. Dexter is the company that makes most RV axles these days. And yours looked just like ours with the rubber cap etc. NuCamp also tells customers the same info about self greasing the Dexter axles etc (unless they have changed) It’s more of an issue with bigger double and triple axle trailers with a lot of weigh. If the brakes fail from broken seals and grease in the brake shoes…bad news. When in Pennsylvania last year we saw a person who lost their camper going down a big hill and it kept going, twisted their truck around and went into the woods. Had the the road shut down for while. 😳
Thanks for sharing, I hope to one day have a camper where I can drive around as I capture the happenings, but until then, I have subscribed to support and follow your adventure.
Thanks so much, Rika. We'll enjoy having you along and getting to know you better. FYI we started our adventures in a tent and had a lot of fun that way as well. Do what you can with what you have. ❤️
Dennis, don’t feel too bad. I hate grease guns, too. But it’s a whole different kind of dislike and story. Great tips, guys. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safw Travels
Great tips! I don’t have one, given not practical in Hong Kong, but it looks so fun to have. 😂 always enjoy your adventures Dennis & Michelle! Take care and have a great week ahead
Hi 👋 just getting round to checking out your channel. Been so busy with two bank holidays in a row here in the uk. Looks like your van is truly adventure ready now to me 😊 great watch looking forward to watching your travels
Thanks so much for watching. Yes, we're ready for our 2023 adventures to begin. To continue, actually. We already had one successful trip and our second one is coming up next week. Hope you have a chance to rest up from the busyness so you can get some more good hikes in!
Good job. Our idea of winter camping is going to Florida. 😅 We have no desire to camp in snow and cold. Have fun on your 1st trip of the season. Lynn and Danny
Yeah, I can definitely understand that. Someday, we plan to head to warmer weather during at least part of the winter but we aren't quite to that season of life yet. Thanks so much for watching, Lynn and Danny!
Lol great video! Any RV Tiny or 5 wheel size is alot of maintenance.. My grandparents every spring put us to work on the RV to get it ready for the summer trips! It was alot. Maybe thats why i tent camp now😂 jk jking
That's one reason we like having a camper with no plumbing. Way less maintenance. But you're right that there's more than with a tent. We used a tent before this and have liked the upgrade but there are pros and cons to everything. Thanks so much for watching!
So I want to be sure I understand. Someone in our FB group mentioned that I could use my low profile jack just underneath where the spring is for each axle by each wheel. Plus I bought a pair of jackstands just to be on the safe side. It looks like here you are jacking up from the rear bar that the rear stabilizer is going into am I correct? Can it hold the weight OK because that would be a much easier location to raise the camper up in order to change a tire. I don’t think I have to raise the camper up to grease the axle. I thought I did that by taking the cap off by the Lugnuts and just pumping the grease in there based on Rustic Trail’s website
Good questions! I crawled underneath the camper to make sure I was placing the jack directly under the trailer frame which I think should be strong enough to handle the weight because it's holding up the whole trailer. It seemed to work well when I did it that way and felt secure. Also, there is a video link on Rustic Trail's website which takes you to a video made by Dexter (the axle manufacturer) where they show you jacking up the camper just enough to be able to spin the tire while pumping the grease in. You can find that video link on this page: www.rustictrail.com/rttc-starter-guide/
You're not the only one who has issues with grease guns. There are some really crummy products out there. That goes for some well known brands as well. If they don't work after 5 minutes of dinking with it, it's not you that's defective. I've tossed a few myself.
