Tiny China Excavator AUCTION! How Much do they Sell For? 

A lot of Chinese-made stuff works fine. I have three Chinese generators I purchased in 2001 that still start right up and run great. I ran one that puts out 5000 watts for five days straight, except to shut it off for refueling and then immediately restarting, during a power outage. I paid $300 for that generator. I purchased five generators in total. Gave two to family. All five generators are still running great. I’ve had to replace one short fuel line on one unit. I have a Chinese 52 cc chainsaw that cost $106 delivered to my door. I’ve cut down seven large trees and bucked them into firewood rounds. I could have thrown it away day one and still been ahead. I spent $4500 on tree crews before deciding to cut down dead or dying trees myself. My son has several stilh saws. He now has two of the 52cc Chinese chainsaws. He modifies the air filter and then retunes them. He cuts several cords of firewood a year. He heats with wood. Most tools and equipment sold today are made outside the USA. Kubota excavators are made in Japan. I would stay away from the mini excavators sold at auctions for $4000 to $5000. If anyone is serious about buying a cheap mini excavator, a Kymron mini excavator is $8000, but worth the difference in price. It comes with a hydraulic thumb and a counter weight. Replacement hydraulic Pump and drive motors for Kymron minis are available from USA sources. We live in a global economy. I buy products made all over the world. No other country in the world produces better weapons of war than the USA, but as far as tools, machinery, and electronics, most of it or some of the parts for it, comes from factories outside the USA.

80 year old retired farmer here, Used to do a lot of farm machinery auctions when metal was metal and not tin foil and plastic lol. Auctions were always fun for me!

We bought an AGT Industrial QH12 for $4,000 at a local auction. For occasional use they’re a decent machine. They have a surprising amount of power considering the 13 1/2hp Briggs. Our EPA sticker is on the side 😂. I put a hinge on the rear door so we can access the pull start (yes, it has a recoil start) in case the battery is dead. I had to install the hinge carefully so I didn’t damage the epa sticker. It looked pretty “official”. 😂

I have an AGT L12 mini excavator and so far it has been fantastic. I immediately changed the oil, hydro fluid, and added cooling fans. So far I have built a road in steep terrain into a spot I am wanting to plant an orchard, cleared and grubbed about 1/4 acre for the orchard, cleaned my ditches along the drive, cut and moved firewood, leveled a barn, dug footers for a cabin that I am building, and lots more stuff.

Good ole IH power can't be beat, one suggestion on your racking, there's holes where the rails hook on the uprights take the time to put a bolt in each one because they will pop out . speaking from experience,we have the same kind at work.

I've actually been thinking about getting one of these for trenching and small jobs around the house

Adam's truck is a beauty. I have a 2001 Ford F350 crewcab pickup, with the 7.3 Powerstroke, and 265,000ish miles. When we bought the truck, the plan was to replace it in 20+ years when I retired. Now, 22 years after buying it, I am not so sure I want to follow through on that plan. I like my old truck. As Adam said, it starts every time I need it to, and is still in pretty good condition. It is a little noisy, which is really the only reason why I would even think about a new truck....until I think about the pricing on the new ones.

Before we moved to S.C. my husband would go to the auctions at Roger's. He used to live in Carroll County, Ohio and all the farmers went to Rogers.

The Chinese stuff has its uses but I generally rent equipment for the jobs I have around here and don’t have to think about longevity or parts availability. Depending on the job a local guy is actually on par with a rental and does great work.

I own a Case 580 CK, and it makes a mess of the yard. The stabilizers leave 4-inch deep square holes in the yard and the wheels leave tracks, all of which I have to fix later. I want a mini excavator to work on my flower beds and landscaping without making a lot of other work for myself. I see a light Chinese excavator as a way of moving small amounts of dirt without shoveling it myself, those days are over for me. Great video, thanks.

MIKE, you mentioned a post hole digger, and a few other attachments (future purchases ) I have some good guesses about... 'the Man with a Plan' ! Nice score on the shelving! Definitely needed!

The best use case examples for those minis would be small excavation jobs like buried utilities around homes with existing landscaping. Foundation repair guys might also find them useful. The low weight and minimal ground pressure leaves less chance to do damage.

I would have loved one of those 2 post lifts just for working on my toys. I think those little excavators might be good for a guy that installs underground downspouts or something where is just a shallow trench and able to get is small backyard gates

A couple years ago I bought a Chinese excavator and I used it for one summer. It was amazing how much work I accomplished with the thing. It had a diesel engine on it and did everything I asked of it. Other then having some electrical issues and a track issue it got the job done. I have since upgraded to a bigger SANY SY35U so that I could use a mower for road ditches. If you have a tight budget and don't make your living with it I think it beats a shovel.

Little factory where I live in Indiana called steel mart that manufactures the dump containers in many different sizes. Plus snow pushers and dumpsters and garbage disposal bins.

Good morning Morgan's. I have 4 different Fords with the 7.3 2002 excursion with 350,000 on it with no problems and i just rebuilt a 1999 350 it cost me $9000.00 but thats cheaper than buying a new one with all the mandates on them now

Ever been to Hills auction in Landen berg PA? All kinds of stuff. Also if you want want one of those dumper bins. Not that difficult to put together. Get some sheet steel and one of those table top plasma cutters and fab the pieces to size. Weld it up.

I paid $3400 total for my Agro tek 12. it came with mech thumb, concrete breaker, rake and auger with 3" and 6" bit's All i can say is it has retired most of my shovels and it just plain fun to run. Thanks for the great content it goes great with a cup of coffee.

Good morning! Very interesting video. Adam's truck is very impressive! Maybe its just me, but I never "win" when I get something cheap. The thing ends up breaking or not performing anywhere near what is expected. I usually regret not just buying the higher quality product and avoiding the headaches. Plus, I try to buy Made in USA as much as possible. Have a day!

I used to go to several small auctions before covid. Did some online bibbing after. It can be a challenge to understand the different auctioneers.

I may need to do some research on those little excavators. I only have a few acres, so I don't really need the big kubota like you have, although it would be great. One of those small excavators would be a great help for me if they are actually any good. I think I could probably haul it on the trailer I use to haul my zero turn mower on also if I needed to.

Good morning Mike, we have a auction house here in Northern Washington that looks like they sell the same exact stuff. They have an auction about once a month you’re right the containers do come from China with the equipment in them.

I was going to buy a walk behind loader they really come in handy in tight areas, but they went higher than I wanted to pay. Most of those things to me are not to bad!.

Those auction items cracked me up! I see so many of the IDENTICAL items at my local auction down here in Florida. LOL

I have a ton of those auction implements, I used them almost daily. I usually change out the parts that are weak before I even use them or reinforced parts that need to be. One or two jobs and it already pays for the implement. That screen bucket you were talking about is a bit to be desired. If you have any questions you can ask me. Lol.

I've been following several auctions throughout the Pacific Northwest over the last 4 years. You'd be amazed how closed to retail prices this equipment sells for when all is said and done. My rule of thumb is half of the retail price. Don't let emotion get to you.

Hey Mike, I just bought one of those LRT23 Chinese mini skids at auction in Ohio a couple weeks after you posted this video for $4800 plus buyers fees and taxes $5450 . Haven't put it to work yet but run and operates great. I've been looking for 6 months and the prices on these are definitely starting on their way up for sure. One thing i can say is the only way I've seen these on FB is to buy is new, which leads me to believe the people that are buying the thousands of the Chinese pieces of equipment like them and aren't selling them?? Thanks for posting video because it finally made me pull the trigger and grab a mini skid. Cant wait to put it to work😎

Those mini ex"s have their place. They're inexpensive, easy to fix. Easy to replace/ simple engines. As it should be.

I have a wolverine 72" cut china brush cutter - had to replace the blade assembly but otherwise is very heavy built! 2-3 inch material, no problem...

Those shipping containers at 5800 were a pretty good deal. I recently bought a 40 footer without the side doors and much worse for ware for 4200.

Bought a cheap set of pallet forks, didn't realize that they weren't American made.... bent bottom frame first time I used them.

My 1st hyd offset flail mower was a made in China unit. I used it hard and it made it thru the 1st year. Blew the hyd cylinder and busted the roller off it twice in the second year. After cobbing it together since OEM parts did not exist, I started year 3 and halfway thru the year the whole frame houses cracked and the thing twisted up like a pretzel. Scrapped it out and bought a Del Morino. Yes it cost twice the Chinese unit, but I am on year 3 with it and have not had one thing break or go wrong. All said, you get what you pay for. I swear you guys were walking around every auction yard here in WNY. It's all the same stuff. From the driveway gates to the boxes of ratchet straps - Exactly the same! Too funny. My son built one of the stump.tree pullers. A 4-5" tree is about all he can pull with a 4400 lb tip skid steer. They are great for pulling posts.

I bought a set of forks for my tractor and had a hard time finding any. Mine the frame and guard are galvanize which seem to be a good quality. Down in Florida at flea markets there are little stores in there that sell stuff made in China and most of the items are junk.

I have a friend that is a nursery man Who plants , DIGS Up and and balls Trees And sells them Either loading Into the customers vehicle Into the customers vehicle Or guarantee them if he plants them himself. He buys one of these little tracks every year He digs around them with a track call And has a stand up Mini loader With a stump bunket on the front It is shaped like the lower jaw of an alligator and tapers the same way to the front and wider at the back . These 2 types of machines are perfect as the trees are not huge I don't know 14 feet I think it's the largest Has they can drive and turn sideways in between the rows of trees to remove them and turn in their own tracks to try traveldown the aisle er row. Once there's a dog around he uses the stump bucket Using the narrow endand plucks them out of the groun After he shaves them into a ball Put your lap around them and tie them with string Then takes them out to the end of the Row . He says they're only good for about 800 to a 1000 hours So he just sells the one that he uses When he's at the end of this season It's pretty much all but a $1000 out of what he paid for it Then goes to an option and picks up another one says it works great

Ive been looking into the kymron brand mini excavator. They are china made but have alot more options than the AGT brand. Kymron has the hydralic thumb, hydralic track width adjustment, has a counter wieght on rear, they're not a thin tin can like the AGT brand. Kymron has dealers and sell replacement parts and attachments and they start between 8-9grand

To Me the mini minis are similar to the "homeowner" pressure washers vs commercial units. If you use it a couple times per year to clean your house or driveway they will do it and last for years. If you are using it to make your living or daily for hours at a time it will wear out quickly or do such a poor job that tasks take much longer.

That dump truck looked like a rock and sand truck - heavy but not much volume. Short height keeps weight of load down. Also looks cool and runs better with fuel.
