Glad to see you back I think you should do scenarios with some of the unused Bigwallet family. The abandoned kids you don’t want to do a full playthru and stay children forever. You can scenarios with as mini playthru until we get a new game pack.
@@FireAndLightning not op but I did have an incident where the kitchen sink started leaking and I had to stop using it for a day or two before I could get it fixed and had to use the bathroom sink instead. Luckily there was a bathroom right off the kitchen so it wasn't too bad but yeah I could see it becoming a major hassle
@@NancyDrew56 Ah, of course if it's in need of fixing that would be difficult enough! Truly hope that no one has to live without it forever! Must have been so hard to do the dishes, unless there was a dishwasher.., other sinks are not meant to handle pots and pans 😅 Thanks for giving me an explanation of what it could be!
Even though this build is so quirky, I actually think it came out realistic (minus the size, maybe). I see a lot of houses like this, except slightly more run-down, in the countryside or as refurbished parts of train stations/passings and old water mills.
Henford on Bagley is perfect for this build. I've stayed in holiday lets like this here in the UK, it's pretty common for farming families to diversify into doing B&B or self-catering holiday cottages as a way to subsidise their income and keep their farms.
Challenge! Try renovating every house in every world, using only base game and the expansion pack that world came in (like Windenburg=get together and base game only). Rules: 1. Outside "shell" stays the same. You can repaint, change windows and doors etc, but no extensions. Inside walls stays about the same. You can take down a wall or build a wall, if it makes sense. 2. The original lot value stays about the same. So a lot worth around 16.000 should have the same or less value. 3. You can only use base game and the expansion pack. No stuff pack or other game pack. A world that comes with a game pack uses base game and that game pack. It's actually much harder than it sounds, because you don't have a lot of options. But it also is a lot of fun and challenging 😊
that triangle house build from Grand Designs is really great. Such a weird plot sandwiched between a busy road and a railway. And half the plot couldn't be built on because of the sewer access. Yet this guy managed to build an absolutely georgous house on it that nobody expected
Welcome back! Such a cute build. I love the use of the industrial glass arch. I'm actually so surprised how well that worked with the cottage theme. I can now imagine it'd be a pretty entrance for a conservatory in a bigger home.
If one were to build a tiny home on one of the great big lots in the Henford-on-Bagley countryside, I think the way to go about it would be to make a tiny farmhouse surrounded by a big farm, and maybe go a little crazy on landscaping too.
yeah, I've missed your build videos. I love making tiny homes too. My favourite thing is to build "cheat" tiny houses which only use 32 tiles, but have a lot more space which is not enclosed. The lighting is a bit of an issue, but I've managed to get them to work for a 100 baby home. The relationship gains and skills boost really helps! I would love to see you build a cheat tiny house for a whole family.
Omg the Grand Designs House that looks like a slice of cheese, it’s in my town, I’ve seen it in person, it’s bonkers. Ive seen it as it got built every time you drive past. The lot they built it on is really small. And there’s actually a surprising amount of privacy. You have a hard time seeing it from the road. My favourite house from that season was the one with the pond. My dad and I found it on google maps, also close to me But I loved the pond sm.
Hi James! I so wish you were doing cameos. My friend Cheyenne got me one from you when I was pregnant with my son Olin, and now she is due to have a son any day. I would love to return the favor to her. We’re both huge fans! Love the build - and also hate the walkways up to the lots 🙃
I think you can make use of the pathway for more space for the garden. You can put the house at the very front of the lot because it has a little bit of decorations and landscape already done.
James just thought maybe Chaz and Kim can retire in your tiny home when they get older. know the house is Chaz but maybe he gave it to his brother and Hazel since they have big family. your builds always amazing and welcome back glad your had fun time with your family.
Thank you for being such a wonderful person, I look forward to whenever you post. Inspiration has been tough to come by these days and watching your creativity unfold is definitely inspiring!
In my country, most houses don’t really use sink inside the bathroom. Only the well-off ones do. People with no sink wash their hand by scooping water from a bucket using a water dipper/scoop. So I never use a sink inside my bathroom when I build a tiny/micro home. No sink is pretty realistic to me😂
Awesome build, although I was thinking....would a mini fridge not work better in the space? You can then add a microwave on top, or a shelf for more storage space, what with it being a micro home and all....anyway, that's my 2 cents. Awesome build anyway. I really like your build style.
A great idea but not that useful. I almost never play with microwaves in my games and the storage would be annoying because Sims would put plates up there if you didn't cover the shelf with random clutter, which could be cool. I think mini-fridge plus coffee maker would be a good balance of useful/realistic. Alternatively, something for tea but the base-game brewer was buggy for a long time, I don't recall if they fixed it, and the newest tea set came in the wedding pack so I have no idea if it's functional. lol I don't have that one and most of what's ingrained in my brain is how they had to fix all of the wedding bugs for everything else. The most useful change IMHO would be to add in an island, instead of a table, simply because Sims can also prepare food on it (less chance they'll fail to do something because the only free counter isn't available) and then stick in a dishwasher so the sink is freed up more often but it wouldn't fit the vibes as much and since it would need at least two counters, it might be something they can't get around. I forget how it lined up with the ladder.
@@DoveJS I agree with the coffe/tea brewer alternative. Come to think of it, I did the same thing with one of my micro builds and it works a treat. What we need in the game, especially for playing with Tiny Living pack is integrated appliances ( I don't think there's a mini fridge version you can tuck away under a counter - dishwasher style, maybe CC, but idk), or a wet room combo (sink/shower that can be overlapped and still functional, although idk how that would work with the game mechanics). As for the counter space, maybe tucking the mini fridge between the TV and the ladder, using a bookshelf and not a bookcase (again, maximising space usage), and having like a breakfast bar with stools instead of a table, would probably do the trick with the available space. Having said all that, I realise that it probably would not go with the cottage vibe that James was going for...
@@Lostinscenes You can fit the University/Snowy Escape shower opposite the door, then have the sink and toilet on opposite sides. I can't recall if it requires MOO because you can walk through the shower; that's what makes it work. So, not exactly the same concept but it means his bathroom could've had both. Ohhh, good idea for the mini fridge! Actually, I think he could've put one of the small freestanding set of books, which functions as a bookcase, on top of the mini-fridge. I know a fish bowl will go there so I think that works. Alternatively, could keep the book case, get rid of the little table between the chairs, stick the fridge there, and add the lamp on top. But yeah probably wouldn't fit the vibes haha.
So glad to see you back..hope you had fun with your family.. absolutely love this build gonna put it into my game as soon as I turn it on lol!!! Have a great day! 🙂🤗🙂
Thanks so much for keeping us expired. I'm glad you got time to see family 😌 welcome back and it was because of you I have been challenging myself in Sims 4 haha. It's so much fun! Thanks for all you do and bringing a smile to my day ❤️❤️
I love this! I build more tiny homes than anything but they're pretty bland compared to this. I may try something similar to this next time. I've been missing your videos but I'm glad you got to spend time with your family. That's so important.
I know it's not a priority with all the other stuff that's messed up in the game, but I hope at some point they tackle the modular items from Dream Home decorator. I rarely use them because i hate how they clip into the wall when you place them in a corner.
Wow I’m so early - edit for end of video, such a amazing build, love how tiny it is plus all the plants on the side of the house. A sweet little cottage
This sparks much joy!! Are you going to be back to the Cottage Living LP? I'd would love to see a longer series come back again, even a different one, in addition to all the scenarios.
@@bellacullen492 same, I know he’s been moving around a lot lately and probably doesn’t have the time to focus on it. Hopefully he gets back to it when he’s settled in again ^_^
Great build! I'd love to see more tiny homes. Maybe try to build a tiny home that matches each world or pack? The no fence around the chickens stresses me out though 😅 Real chickens would wander away, and Sims chickens would get eaten by foxes immediately.
I *love * this cute little house. I downloaded it for my Spellcaster Sim to live in, in Glimmerbrook. I did tweak your skylight a bit so that the bedroom doesn't need the inside window, and that tile can be used for the ladder. (Thank you KateEmerald for teaching me that little trick!)
Welcome back! The build looks nice and cosy. Some days I feel like my actual house is too small, then I see builds like this and wonder whether I actually want to get rid of some stuff and live in a smaller space. XD
