I love your new sock-Dolly is a perfect name. I thought an obvious choice for the pink and sparkle was Juliet. I think the Contrasts book is sold out; I’m hoping Laine reprints it. Congratulations on finishing that cardigan-it’s stunning!
1) yayayay now I own the Mary Bennet pattern! 2) agree those seem like Dolly socks, and that she's the best person in AK. 3) still in the skein that color immediately made me think of Charles Bingley: always in love, a fancy fellow, and quite delightful. Maybe if you have another pink/red skein they can be Bingley socks.
Spinning is meditative for me also. I have so much fiber that's not processed yet. I love watching dirty ugly fleece turn into wonderful spinning fiber. I really don't want to dye. Color I incorporate [attempting] into the fleece with homemade combs, hackle & blending board. Two size hand combinations. 🤷 keeps me busy, or not as able.
Your socks and cardigan are beautiful as always. I watch killers of the flower moon, it was well done but very disturbing. I don’t think I could watch it again. I also watched Maestro, but I was disappointed that my favorite actor Bradley Cooper just basically overacted and it was a distraction. And of course Barbie was my favorite, I am sure that I will watch it again and again, I have already seen it twice. Barbie and I were born the same year and I actually have an original Barbie but I played with it, so she’s not worth much. And I have the clothes that my mom sewed for Barbie and Skipper, really a treasure to me.❤❤
Wow!! So amazing - I had many Barbies but they took a backseat to my American Girl Doll collection. I also thought Bradley Cooper overacted, but I was incredibly impressed with the scene where conducted the end of Mahler 2 for over 6 minutes - that is a *serious* feat!
The cardigan looks so warm and snuggly. Love the Mary Bennett socks but unfortunately I am unable to buy patterns on ravelry. Just wish there was another way to purchase them. Quick edit on your Mary Bennet Socks description on the Rav pattern: You've changed "Kitty" to "Mary" elsewhere in the description of the collection, but the opening reference still says "Kitty." So the MBS pattern description opens with "The Kitty Bennet Socks are the third..."
Hi Emma! Love all the items! A few episodes back you mentioned an encounter you had with a lady in a store. It was about yogurt...full fat vs non-fat. Briefly, can you tell me why full fat is what we should be eating? Just curious because I always eat non-fat!
That is a great question! As I understand it, full-fat yogurt contains a lot more probiotics, which are really essential to gut health. Often times, people think eating nonfat or low-fat yogurt will be better for weight regulation, but usually a higher level of probiotics is more beneficial in that sense. A rare case where the thing that tastes better is actually better for you! (Don't ask me to explain the science in too much detail - this was explained to me by my childhood best friend, whose PhD research focused on stomach bacteria!)
I prob don’t know enough about conducting to judge BUT I feel like there’s a difference between moving your arms like a conductor and actually conducting people. But maybe I should be more impressed.
I couldn't help but think the new pink socks could be named Barbie - which, by the way, I watched the movie and hated every second of it with a burning passion. So please don't name the socks Barbie 😂
