I was lucky enough to witness this spectacle first hand one day while on my lunch break. The baby ducks didn't jump into the water though they jumped right onto the ground lol. I thought I was going crazy seeing little ducks fall from the sky until I figured out what was going on lol.

They don't have to! Ducks are coated in a kind of oil that makes them float :) All they really need to do is kick their feet.

They probably reach terminal velocity very quickly, so the height from which they jump would not matter much.

But I get Wood Ducks in my area too. :) I live in Ohio, and they and the Mallards are the most common ducks in my area. :)

theCaptainBeast they flew! Wood ducks even have claws to allow them to grip on branches, and they usually sleep up there too!

15 feet is 15 fucking feet so leave it at that. i dont have a ruler that says its 15 feet but means 30.. does anyone else? if you do, i would like to see it
