Randy had a rough day or two - you can tell by his tone of voice. Chin up, tomorrow will be a better day! Re Abbeville: 100% their loss! New opportunities will present themselves, Randy and Amanda, just keep at it! 🤗😘 PS: The Beach and Grove are coming along nicely! Can’t wait to be on the Mountain hopefully later this year.
@@le_th_ also the money the spent on a hotel room for a couple of nights , money for gas, and their time!! I am pretty ticked off they did this too Randy and Amanda!! Shame on them!!
Please read the posts on the previous video. These trees are way too close together. They are made to grow big root systems to withstand heavy winds. Without that, they aren't safe in the ground. They will fall over. We're trying to help because we love you guys.
My DIY then what proof do you have that the read them? They would have heeded the warning. If your comment isn’t positive praise, it is dis- regarded here.
Boy, that must've felt like a kick in the teeth to Randy about Abbeville (and many others looking forward to it), and after all the encouragement they had given him! I hated it when the news popped up in my feed. Sounds like a sad case of a small town being run by some small minds. That's okay....I'll bet all the owners of those cute little coffeeshops, restaurants and shops nearby will be real mad when they realize all the repeat trade they could've been having when they're sitting there with no business here in a little while. You can't keep all those places going off of just special celebrations on holidays at the town square and the occasional busy Saturday afternoon. I'm glad the Beach and the Grove are getting their trees and details around the place filled in, and I'm glad so many are standing up to support Randy. He needs to get in his truck and drive all the way around the FOUR communities he's created, with TWO MORE coming along, all out of nothing but some borrowed tools and ambition. And Some Folks who spend all their time online, anonymously pissing on somebody else's rainbow, need to get a life and find a more productive hobby! (THERE!! Randy wouldn't say that right out, so I did it for him!!) I've never even met Randy or Amanda, nor am I currently planning to buy a tiny house, but I've sure been buoyed up by watching the progress they're making. Even if they hit bumps in the road, they keep on trying, and are constantly open to new things. This is the second time just today that I've gone on a channel to watch positive people doing positive things, and found they had just one critic throw repeated negative comments at something everyone else enjoyed. Rant over...now let's all get back to admiring the new palm trees, and the happy energy flowing from folks like Ms. D who are excited about their new homes. (Randy better keep Ms. D and Amanda separated....Those two could start a WORLD of trouble, lol!)
Love the trees!! I am in Northern California, many people, wineries etc use the palms as landscaping, they handle the weather great! We get freezing temps too. Keep up the great work XO
I worked approximately 4-6 months a year in Northern CA, I was very surprised the weather is the same there as in SC. I worked in the Yuba City, Colusa area, was North on Hwy 5 approximately an hour from Sacramento. There were many Palms in that area. I was also surprised to see Italian Cedars, they are approximately 2-5 ft around and 20-40 feet tall. Even the landscape was similar there. Was a nice place to travel for work.
Randy, you have to realize you have i think you said 160 acares accross the street, these 4 communities , your considered the largest tiny home community owner in North America, that's a big accomplishment. Finish these areas and you and your team will continue to grow, thank you for giving us a chance to be part of this incredible adventure 😊
@@american_woman You sound like your saying he's awful for not doing it the way you think it should be done. If there are other tiny home. communities can't you go to them!
@@american_woman No, that's not bad at all. He started this to keep his factory running, and there is more than enough demand to fill his spaces. If people want more options, then they should really get out into their own communities and try to find ways to make it happen. You can't expect Randy to do it all for everyone in the US - it's a huge country. You could ask yourself why no other builders are developing spaces for their clients?
@MGA actually, the company that has developed a similar incredibox home and is opening a tiny home community in Eastern NC also only allows the tiny homes his company builds in that community. I can't remember the name of the top but others probably will know of them also.
@MGA If the other manufacturers want their customers to have a guaranteed spot to park a tiny home for decades down the road let them put in the money and time to clear land, build infrastructure, and develop their own communities. Why complain about Randy for doing this for his customers instead of complaining to other tiny home manufacturers who don't do this for their customers when it is they who are evidently the ones short changing people who don't have their own land and want to purchase their tiny home?
@@american_woman ITH is RVIA certified! so what are you saying about getting a better loan... ?? He is also working on getting "manufactured home certified" so the opportunities of getting more loan choices is there. Also Randy is keeping the lot rent extremely low for several reasons (although he is losing a lot of money building the infrastructure) plus he needs to stay in business too! And there is other tiny home communities that only allow THEIR tiny homes in.
As they say, when one door closes, another one opens. You'll find another location to build tiny homes. Wait and see. You've done a lot to this community so far and its really perking up!
@@RachaelNelson-si3qc the base model 8x16 is 20thousand, the 8x20 is 25 thousand. If a small town would donate the space to park for free or almost nothing, and if financing could be made available.... People living on disability could gain access to home ownership and housing stability in the town they live in.
You said you would do it... I Knew you would do it... Now, you DID IT !! Those Palm Trees are going to be Beautiful !! The lady from New York is COOL !! I bet she will be a Favorite Neighbor to everyone there. :)
Palm trees are very rarely seen in east Tennessee, simply because many people are not aware that palms will grow here, which is a misconception. There are several varieties of hardy palms that will grow in east Tennessee- even northeast Tennessee, with little or no winter protection.
The palms shown are Sabal palmetto. They will not survive in Tennessee. It's really sad to see so many palms being wasted. The most cold-hardy trunking palms typically grown in the US are Japanese windmill palms (Trachycarpus fortunei), but even they would have a hard time surviving long term in Tennessee winters.
so many people are disagreeing with those palms surviving. Hey folks I copied and pasted the info from the net not my statement. just saying. We dont have palms in Canada lol. enjoy ur research. Randy you may have to check it out on ur own. lol
Hello from MCclellanville SC I’m so sorry about abbeville I love you guys, their loss. The palms trees looking great, but they need to make a well around palms with the dirt, you probably already know that. Keep doing great things and maybe one day my dream will come true and I’ll get buy one of your beautiful homes.
The Grove is shaping up nicely! I love the colors people have selected so far... eggplant, bright yellow, sage green, dark charcoal, and more. Looking fabulous!
@@american_woman @caincardova9732 @therealcynthia2936 Susan is expressing her opinion in this post, not even offering advice. Her heart is in the right place. However, whenever she posts, I see you jumping on her giving her a hard time. Basically bullying her. Not just in this video. Give it a rest. @Faithful525 keep doing what you are doing, and ignore them.
Those trees don't look good that bunched up. Thin them by half and I'm sorry that Abbeville fell through. You've had offers for more land according to what you've said on past videos so time to start checking them out.
ONO! Those palms are waaaaay too close together! Palms DO need to be braced! I am a Floridian and have never seen them planted that close! IF they live, they will each have a large canopy competing with the ones next to them. This is not a good thing!
The Palms just lift the whole area. I imagine the residents are over the moon at their addition. I'm looking forward to see how they look this time next year. Fingers crossed they all survive and thrive.
Oh Amanda, you have a new buddy with Ms. Dee. I love her. That is too bad about Abby Ville not going through but as I say everything happens for a reason, it may take awhile to know what will take that place.
Sorry to hear about Abbeville, so now I'll be looking forward to moving to Buffalo Creek, which will be great with bigger lots that I'm looking for...can't wait to hear more update on what's happening on Buffalo Creek and make plans to come visit....YAY..😊
Randy, my husband and I have a question that maybe others have thought about also....have you ever thought about putting in storm cellars for the community to get into during tornadoes?
@@connietheel7112 Given the amount of torrential rains they had this spring, with no flooding (unless you count the Grove's utility ditches or the gutter runoff on the factory floor), it doesn't look like an immediate threat. You can check with the city for their historical records on extreme weather events.
I feel like a good side hustle is finding someone with the savvy to find properties and sell them ...basically building a heat map of all the places in America that have zoning that allows this, and then layering over it zones of greater desirability that reflect levels of access to internet, water/sewer, electric, and services like shopping and hospitals transportation and post offices/govt offices.
Seeing a video by ITH Co with Randy & Amanda makes my day. I'm going hv to drive to Newport Tennessee to see if I want to live there?🤔 What really entices me to come there is all the nice people that are in the community! 😊🏡
My dear Randy...I can see it and hear your spirit is down a bit. You can't hide it. I'm so sorry. Just know that you ARE LOVED BY SO MANY...and appreciated. Take a deep breath. You've accomplished so much already. YOU ARE LOVED
It's a Southern thing that some people oppose things like lights and sidewalks. It's not just a money concern. Why? Because if you don't want people out at night, why would you give them a light to see by? And if you don't want people around your property, why would you give them a sidewalk to loiter on? Officials really think like this.
When my husband and I visited Abbeville last month and spoke to merchants whose stores we shopped at, we were told that the town was not interested in having a tiny house community. I hoped they would change their minds but their feeling was that the property was a special place and that they wanted it developed in another manner. I feel sorry for all of us that lost out!
Yes, this is so sad. I don’t think Abbeville should of contacted ITH and propose tiny homes in their community and then deny the project. I think the local people threw a fit and they think tiny home people are trailer trash….which is BS!! They really messed up because they would of received a lot more money in their community!!
Actually that was my fault! I thought ITH’s beautiful Homes and friendly people would be such an asset to the the Abbeville Community! Honestly, with 9 generations of my Family that have lived here, I am embarrassed to say I am from here. When the Square starts crumbling, people will realize how the Demographics could have been changed, new people would have lowered the Crime Rate- no one was coming here to hurt anyone. Now trailers set up in the Spring Valley Trailer Park Resurrection-there you have a problem! Enjoy that Trailer Park Abbeville!
@@ouidab8901 yes, Abbeville would have stood to gain a lot of revenue and fresh souls to further their pride of town... would have been good..but I understand people wanting things a certain way ...Abbeville does have that about it ..and hence they have preserved it so well..however new life and energy is needed to be able to continue their hard work for more generations to come...and I hope they find that somehow ...as it is a very cute town, and I'm mighty sad to not see a community go there
@@american_woman I seriously doubt that the refusal came from anything based on "factual, engineering, construction and scientific evidence." More likely it was the typical 'NIMBY' knee-jerk reaction to the new idea of a tiny home community, by people who can't imagine how it is different from a trailer park.
@@chezmoi42 yep, that's what I suspect as well that they think tiny homes are trailers and will have trailer trash living there... if only they would put their ignorance down and do some research instead of insulting people. Their loss...
Also why 16 plam tree all bunched up in such a small area ??... Maybe they would look nice entering in to tge community along side of the street. Like 20 ft apart.
Beautiful… “our” community will give more than beauty… it is giving homes … there is no place like home. Thank you Randy for a home. First law of life is a community’s support, and a home - family - to me that is what ITH means to me .
It’s looking good guys. Love you Amanda, you are a hoot, just watching you two makes me laugh. Keep up the good work, and who knows maybe someplace in Newport will open up for you to build
Praise God Randy! I have followed you for years and have prayed for you guys, as I am sure many others have as well. It’s exciting to see the 🌴palm trees 🌴 and you fulfilling the call of God on your life. So exciting!!! God loves you and his hand is on you.
Hi My granddaughter and grandson love watching these videos. Their grandmas parents live in East Tennessee ( Bristol) so they relate to the accent. I love Tiny Homes that are safe, modern, and cute
Man oh man I love this! Been binge watching. By the time I get ready I’ll have missed this ground floor opportunity!! Damn I love this. I love Amanda and Randy and that cute dog. I would and will at some near distant future trust you 100%! I know where I want to go.
They are not going to do the tree fireworks anymore. Randy said last year while they were doing the fireworks, that it’s getting to dangerous with everyone living there and all the homes! So he wouldn’t be doing the fireworks anymore because he is worried about someone getting hurt.
It's so hard to believe that Ashville turned you down. I'm so sorry for you nice people. It's a closed door and God will open doors for you, good ones. Love (tTt)
Unless the man running the backhoe is an arborist, I wouldn't pay too much attention to his answer about depth. Bring in a professional consultant for a day to help you plant so you can have beautiful trees for many, many years. You sound down and probably are, from Abbeville's decision but there is lots of land in the US looking for good affordable housing. I know you will find it soon also.
Randy, I just told my wife that you are an inspiration, the way you handle setbacks with grace and dignity..I told her about Abbeyville, and she said, you didn’t see him at the meeting when he was denied..LOL..
I love these videos!! I’d love to have a tiny house in Tennessee! I definitely want to be out of Illinois and down in Tennessee, my grandparents came from Blount county! It’s beautiful down there!
This Tiny Home Beach Community in East Tennessee is an absolute gem! The thought of living near the beach while enjoying the affordability and charm of a tiny home is simply irresistible.
@@leslie6189- Windmill would work, and Sago Palms, which are shorter and very hardy. Needle Palms and Dwarf Palmetto (very short) are other cold hardy palms.
Sorry to hear about Abbeville falling through. Sorry too for a those hoping to move there. Hopefully some will be willing to get a home in Buffalo Creek.
Hello Randy and Amanda. Absolutely Marvelous 😃!!! You are doing more than people that are nay-sayers. They don't do anything buttttttt complain, because they have Nooooo gumption. Amen. Thank You for caring and helping people!!! I am from the south and I am going to tell it like it is. Some places don't want different people in their areas. Randy and Amanda are SPECIAL!!! They talk about GOD and put GOD in what's they do!!! We out here appreciate Randy Jones and Amanda and Ace and his workers and communities. YEA for Randy Jones. 🏠🏡🏘️
Look at those Sable palm trees at the beach. In Canada we do not have palm trees. I send blessings to each of your work in progress. Shame about Abbeyville not accepting ITH. Sending positive vibes to everyone. Thanks for posting this video.
Randy your doing what you have to and you shouldn't have to explain. I feel anyone with common sense can figure out why you do things the way you do. It takes money for everything so you have to make it first. My Daddy had a excavating business in south Carolina so I know a little bit about it. We love you guys and we see your visions coming to life honey so don't stress yourself out. I'm so happy that our buddy Ace was found. It's looking lovely there with the palm trees and people out working on there homes. I get so excited for you and your residence. I would love to live there. We need communities like this in northern Illinois.
Randy, Proven Winters has petunias such as ‘bubble gum’ is one but they are super tunas that would look awesome! They’re not you regular petunia as they don’t need to be dead-headed and they out perform in growth spread plus the color is a tropical color. There are some more beach colors , too. Garden Answer, RU-vid sports a lot . There are a few varieties that do superbly as compared to others.
Yes, they are dying... even spent tax payer money to produce a video to try to attract new residents. It's a shame that a few vocal people would prefer the town keep dying.
Randy. You are a true angel from God! If my life ever changed I would come there in a New York minute! Think the world of you, Amanda & all the workers there! This is a great life change for a single person! I’m not single? But if I ever was? I’d be there! You give everyone hope!
I will pray your Business be Bigger than Life seen to me you are a Honest business man pray one Day soon I will be staying there for a while Lovely place and I Love palm trees
I am a Plant Freak and don't like to see plants die. Those Palms are not cheap to buy and definitely need staking properly! Trachycarpus fortunei and Washingtonia filifera would be suitable for there as well as they are cold tolerant!
I have two and take them indoors every winter. They also like sandy soil for drainage - not red clay. Personally, I would have spent money on something else...
@@c103110a its been a dream and a passion for Randy to create a tropical beachy theme for the landscaping for the Beach area ...palm trees and sub tropical plants ...hes just starting and learning so far ...but its coming
@@leslie6189 I recommend that Randy speak to a landscaping specialist. Palms like sandy, well-drained soil. If he had dug out the clay and backfilled with sand/topsoil, then I would say that they have a chance - even with the cold winters.
I was sorry to hear about Abbeville but like you said, that's just the way business goes. Sometimes. Maybe something else will open up. And it's good that you're keeping positive energy about it. Been there myself
