@@motowninvestor I’ve seen a few iterations of tiny homes where the top raises to allow for full standing height. Theirs is the best yet! I’m sure as they grow their company, they’ll offer additional size options. I do love Alaska’s tiny though. Her sauna is definitely a cool luxury. The layout of tiny homes is so important for daily function and hers is fantastic! Best wishes on your tiny journey!!

@@motowninvestor Oh, yes! Wilderwise- I was thought you said elevator bed initially. Those are some very cool homes. The steps are steep, but it's nice to have an upstairs you can stand in. Nice tour! You hit the high points. Livi would agree about the loft. She loves tiny life…but not bumping her head. She also has a skylight and she sits up on her bed there. I had just purchased really nice (read…expensive) mattresses for us the year before we built our tiny, so I didn’t consider changing them. I do offer to those who ask in the planning stages to think about the thinnest possible comfortable mattress for lofts. It gains them back inches without costing comfort. You also mentioned the heater in your bathroom…that is a space that many people don’t think about temperature control. They’re focusing on moisture control instead. A mini split isn’t going to offer control in a bathroom. A heater is awesome for winter. Fritz tiny homes used a heated mirror in one of their homes. Totally awesome because it’s a small space and it did double duty. I got a heated toilet seat after a couple of winters. It doesn’t heat the space, but makes potting more comfortable. 😳 We’ve got blackout shades on our windows (including skylights). They actually help a lot with energy efficiency. 🥰 Thanks for sharing your home!! 🥰

Thank you! And I appreciate your thoughts as well. You bring up so many good points- you really do gain a lot of space back when you choose a thinner mattress! I'm super curious about the heated mirror you mention. I'll be looking into that! Haha, as well as a heated toilet seat- you have a Separett, right? Does it just clip on?😄

@@tinyhouseconcierge I have a regular flushing toilet. The heated part attaches like any toilet seat would. I’m not sure whether a composting toilet has hardware exactly like flushing toilets…but I can’t imagine the seat is much different. I bet you could make it work. 😇

Is that a second loft above the sofa? What is the big glass/green thing to the right of the shower, across from the sink? So bright and airy!

Hi Lisa - That is a storage loft above the sofa. (There is no egress window, so it's not a bedroom.) Honestly, I don't need the storage, so for me it's decorative. And as for the green glass box, that's a sauna! It's my favorite part of the house! Thanks for watching!
