Love this. The last two guys tour was so fun! He said he spent 600-700 on the decor, and he was answering all our burning questions without you asking 😂😂😂
Now move away from the staff level cabins to the crew cabins where there are four to a room not much bigger than this with roommates who work longer hours.
Some people have partners back home. But with the exception of cast singers/dancers contracts tend to be six months long with an unpaid vacation of four to eight weeks. It's very difficult to maintain relationships when you are gone for ten or more months of the years. There are couples who do contracts together. But often even they have different start and end dates on their contracts depending on their jobs. It is very common for cruise ship relations to be understood to be during the duration of their contract while they over lap. Which is to say that you could be dating someone and it is understood that once either of your contracts is completed your relationship is finished. If you run into each other later on a future contract on a different ship you pretend like you never knew each other before. Then there are "pillows" Pillows are people that you hook up with quite casually. Some people like one nice pillow. Others want to cover the entire bedroom with pillows or swap them out regularly. Yes, sometimes a cruise ship relationship leads to an STI or pregnancy. Pregnancy pretty much ends your contract. They don't provide prenatal care for crew on ships. There is also a class structure on cruise ships. You don't want to date too far down on a cruise ship. Activity staff and dancers have been known to try to date up. If you date an actual ship's operations officer you get access to greater privileges and accommodations. If a dancer is dating up their bunk might be open which allows a dancer who otherwise wouldn't be entitle to a private cabin to live alone. From time to time the cruise director or activity manager might ask people to verify where they really live. It's a safety requirement to find you in an emergency. You might bunk with your partner and your assigned roommate now can bunk with their partner. Sort of some berth swapping. Singers and dance captains get their own single berth on many cruise lines. A production manager, theatre manager or broadcast manager can get their own berth. If a theatre manager and a production manager are a couple they can pretty much rent out the spare single berth like a crew AirBnb for funky times. Well that's the way it was back in the day. There is a what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas attitude on ships. Which lends itself to some "experimentation". Maybe you weren't out or identify as gay back home......the sea has no memory. It doesn't necessarily follow you home. Experimentation happens.
That was excellent and really funny. When I was gift shop manager I had my own cabin, but no porthole. I was happy for the extra space and privacy. It’s very different from living in the real world back on land. Keep up the great content Krista✌️
Hi Krista. I enjoy your videos. I am leaving on Tuesday for a cruise on the MSC Meraviglia. We met a worker on our last cruise (MSC Seaside), and she is working on the Meraviglia. We would like to bring her stuff. So far, we have Tide Pods, toothpaste, and various snacks. She is expecting us, and asked her if she needed anything, and she said no. I understand that your cabins are small, and was wondering if you have suggestions of what she would probaly need, since you seem quite seasoned at your job. I'll appreciate your input, if you have time. My wife and I enjoy watching your videos, and have learned much about what happens in the botoom of the ship. Truly appreciate the work that you put in doing theses videos, It takes time, and dedication to keep the material coming. Have a great week, regards.
Oh wow that is so cool and kind of you to bring her stuff!!! Snacks are always great to have. For me, I can never have enough magnets since the walls are all magnetic!
@@rogermaillet3495 That's awesome! The head waiter we had on Wonder OTS in January just HAPPENED to be on Liberty OTS when we were on last month. It was even better that she saw us and called us out by our names! Finally connected with them on Insta!
Hi Krista =) I'm a musician, I've applied to a few agencies. I like following the channel! Just curious, you don't have access to the guest restaurant?
Love your videos! I just discovered your channel, new sub :) Question, was it hard to get a room with your significant other? Do you need to be married to be placed in the same room? Thanks!
On Royal ships you have to be married or have some documentation like a lease together to prove you’re together. But on other cruise lines they’ve let us live together with no paperwork!
Overall, how have you found the audition processes at different cruise lines for singer and singer/dancers? Which cruise line was easiest or best for a beginner singer/dancer or singer?
