My pottery studio is built out of an 8 by 10 foot shed. I finally have great pottery studio shelving! The pottery barn/she/studio to a point where it really functions for me. It's got a sink that drains into a bucket for off grid clean-up. The kiln is in the garage. You can't safely have a kiln in your workspace due to fumes. and there really is no room for it. We still have a few more updates to go. It's a really pretty little she shed isn't it?

I love your logo! I think it's called a sprig. I plan on setting up a "she shed" once my husband and I move into the house we just bought in Eastern Tennessee. Once I sell my house in NY, I will be able to finally purchase my kiln and all the rest that goes with it! In the meantime, I am binge-watching any and all pottery videos on RU-vid. I have learned so much from Jessica Putnam-Phillips' channel. She is the founder of Clayshare. It's an online pottery community. I highly recommend her channel to learn lots of new skills and techniques. I'm looking forward to setting my space up and possibly launching a RU-vid channel! Well, I've blabbed enough for now! Lol, I will definitely check out more of your videos. Have an amazing day!!

I vote quality first. When you have quality, speed will come in time.

Nice video. I really like your pottery shed. I think its best to start small with any business and then grow slowly. Im just getting started as a potter. I was part of a small community in New Jersey 16 years ago and haven't thrown since. I'm very excited about my new business venture as a potter. Ive been an artist my whole life. I got my heart broken many times trying to sell paintings. So I'm done with that. One time I went into a store after a devastating art festival experience and asked them what sells. They said useful art. So I'm thinking if I can combine that with other tips you had on another video I should do great. I think making a living as an artist is finally within my grasp. Thank you for your helpful and inspiring content.

Best of luck! It’s true that when you paint now, you’re competing with every artist living and dead. People now fill their houses with giant photos of their families. If they want a painting - they want something custom. I’m so done with custom though I did enjoy painting 2 custom works in 2022. I hope you saw the one on custom pottery. I’ve sold 100% of everything that I every glazed turquoise blue. And earth tones sell the best. They think they want bright colors but when it come to putting up the cash they pick vanilla…

You put a medallion on it. I've seen that done on the bottom as well.

Yay!!! I give customers magnets of it. Some have each color painted in with underglaze.

Sprigging or sprigged decoration is a technique for decorating pottery with low relief shapes made separately from the main body and applied to it
