After many requests and private messages I've finally attempted to do a behind the scenes tour of my home studio. Its not super big and I had no idea how to even begin to film and share this with you all - but here's my best shot.
We live in a village called 'Far Forest' in the beautiful countryside in North Worcestershire. We literally do live 'IN' the forest with 360degrees stunning scenery and greenery. My home studio is within an annex in our grounds which I've thoroughly enjoyed developing over the last 2years as I've progressed with this amazing hobby that has completely got me hooked!
Filming this footage made me remember just how many improvements and changes I made from the original space, and how the space has transformed from the original lounge room with two sofas and a TV to where I am currently I would love to document this process for my own records so will follow this video up shortly with the 'journey to this point'. No doubt this will evolve even more as time progresses but I am running out of wall space!
I forgot to mention in filming a big improvement in the last year where I had a upgrade to my lighting in the studio. This has made the whole pottery experience on another level. I was experiencing strobing with my filming (despite changing all setting's on my GoPro) which is now completely eliminated. Six LED light panels which I can switch on in three different stages of brightness! Oh I'm now in heaven! SO many options!
If you've followed my journey to this point you will know how much I like a procedure and organisation but the location of my studio within this annex makes it critical I always have a clean studio, and this efficiency makes cleaning at the end of each day and during a clay session super easy. I even have my cleaning process down to a fine art now, quick and efficient lol
Have to say a huge thanks to my Hubby, my Dad and our youngest son Ashley who have helped me achieve this incredible space, with their ideas, suggestions and support - none of this would have been possible without them Thankyou. I may now own my own DIY tools, drill, grinder and 'stuff I don't even know the official name of' . But I only know how to use them in conjunction with pottery - I've no idea how to use them for DIY!!!
Hope you find this interesting, anything I've missed let me know. Its my happy place, my haven of tranquillity and my creative zone. Love enjoying time in here with family and friends.
If you're interested to see the journey to this point of my studio keen an eye out for a follow up video soon, or click on the subscribe button to be notified when its posted.
Thanks as always for your interest and support, it really does mean a lot and I love chatting and sharing thoughts and ideas with you guys,
Happy Sunday!
