What’s up Dave I’m in the Weymouth area and have been failing miserably trying to catch smelt lol. I’ve tried Hewitts cove a few times. You know any spots. I heard they’re great eating and I wanna try them. I catch my own grass shrimp and throw them on the sabiki but I can’t seem to find a good spot
I haven't been out for smelt since this video. Last I caught them along the board walk in The Hingham shipyard. Another place to try is back in the fore river near the weymouth landing. There's a kayak ramp there where historically this time of year in the past I'd catch them thru the ice so I imagine they should be in there. There's no light there so you'd be better off to bring one. It is hard in general to find them this time of year. But, when you find one you should find a good school. Another place to try is the saltwater club in Hull.
