"Tiny Towns: More Buildings" that's exactly what I want as well Tom. I see no need to add extra mechanisms to an already amazing game, just give me more building variety
I find the folly tower very interesting : you can either use it to dump all your brown and grey cubes on it and focus on building more complex buildings, but if you do that, you risk giving too many points to your opponents. So do it, but not too much. I really like this kind of self-balancing game mechanics in board games.
I’m happy the base game .. this expansion wasn’t a direction I wanted this game to go .. big miss .. pretty simple would be to release building cards ..
Agreed. Tiny town is a super quick game that is thinky, yet not too complex. Those two expansions adds more rules, but also uneeded complexity for this game. Once the game starts to be too complex, i think most people would just prefer a longer game to match the complexity.
@@martinlarouche4418 I wouldn't say the first expansion really adds all that much complexity. I mean, most of the rules can be explained in one sentence: if you build 2 or more buildings in a turn, gain 1 coin which can be spent on future turns to take a resource of your choice instead of the chosen one. I think the first expansion was perfect for people who felt the game was too tight. I feel like the only people who will enjoy this second expansion (beyond the extra buildings) are people who thought Tiny Towns was too simplistic?
If you think so, get it! I did and I don't regret it. I don't have the 1st one (yet) and this is a GREAT expansion. You don't have to use the villagers (maybe one card does iirc) to use the new buildings and all around I think this is a good expansion. If you think you'd like this, get it. If not, don't. Tom makes good points here.
if I wanted to build a "Nectar farm" (which requires 4 spaces in a square) for example, in the 4 remaining spaces on my player board could I use "Cutting Corners" to build one there with 1 fewer resource, if there was another building there? My thinking is yes, because you could assume you're not playing the last resource on the square with the building because of Cutting Corners?
Why couldn't the Villagers just be a wild resource? I have only played the original game once, but it is so difficult to get resources on the board without blocking yourself. Having a wild resource would be great.
I've not played this expansion, but your conclusion is how I feel about this. The buildings would be nice to have, but the villagers mechanic seems fiddly. This is an easy pass for me.
