Wow! Thanks! I had no idea the fitting was threaded like that. I don’t have a set of vise jaws so I’m holding the 6an hose by hand and with my Palm ratchet the fitting screwed on in no time!
I believe all the flexible hose AN fittings like this are reverse (left hand) threaded. Every video I see on youtube shows people twisting them on wrong and complaining that they are impossible to work with......you can't fix stupid...not even with duct tape
Having been frustrated trying to installe -AN4 fittings onto steel braided hose I stumbled across this kinda on my own---glad to see someone had already thought of it. Thinking out loud it would be great incorporating this process into the Koul Tool Hose End Assembly Tool(s).
Its not that hard. The trick is to not get the braid to fray. Get a cable cutter and wrap the end of the hose in Duct tape......Cut in the middle of the duct tape and voila!
Wow....... "doesn't matter how fuzzy???" I'm gonna try this today......see how it goes? Will this work without a Koul Tool? I don't have one and would like to get done today.....
I ended up ordering a Koul Tool on Amazon and it came in like 24 hours. It actually worked quite well. I could not take my braided hose to the vise so I actually held everything together with vise grips and whatnot and I was able to get the AN fittings together well.
@@koultools The sarcasm I like. 1 out of 30 attempts allows such ease. For people complaining it's not threading it down but getting it started to begin with. You do that with nylon woven it bunches up into a rats nest. Super tight wind of tape sucking the o.d. down a mm....nope, walking it in with a baby flat head...nope...all your body weight....nope...stainless doesn't do that nylon does.
Man, I see why crap sells on QVC and infomercials 😂 I bet you look at all the "AS SEEN ON TV" products on the shelf at the store too. Come on old timer, you made it this long without one you ought to know by now that you don't need it.
My hoes keeps coming off the red fitting. Why is that? I installed it using take and made sure it is all the way go the edge. I even made a line with a marker to make sure the hose didn't push down during the installation. Any ideas why this is happening?
