Tip maintenance is important with any cue but everyone has their own ways and this is a little guide on how i keep my tip in great condition.
Share your tips on how you keep yours in great condition would like to hear about it.

Thanks for the great advice. What size is your tip when you disregard it or should I put a new tip on before a new season starts as I play 2 nights comp a week plus practice most days

It’s all personal preference mate when you change your tip. If it starts to play different to what you know or miscue a lot then time to change.

cheers.... when you shape the cue tip, do you use the spikey bow tie tool, then the curved sanding piece, and how do you stroke the curved sanding piece, just horizontally, or start horizontal and move to vertical with shaft?

Hey mate, I actually use thin sandpaper to shape it then use a hammer to hit it at the top of the tip and at the 45° angle. Then I sand and shape it again then also back with the hammer. This shapes the tip very well and beds it in. You can use the tip shaper also to help get the shape

Interesting how you haven’t domed the tip. Looks quite flat. I spend ages trying to dome my tip but if it isn’t necessary, I won’t bother. Great video btw.

Little pinch of fine steal wool Mick and you can re-polish the Ferrule in a couple of seconds

The lighter thing is a bit silly. What I do is just get the side of the tip damp, just lick your fingers get the size of the tip wet then rub it on the felt on the rail while spinning the cue.
