If you like strange biblical speechifyin and having to choose between bad and worse, then you'll love this full movie reaction to M. Night Shyamalan's Knock At The Cabin!
I saw this movie in theaters with a few friends. And half way through the movie after Rupert Grint started being foul, my friend leaned to me and said, "Didn't think Ron had it in him."
I honestly didnt expect to tear up watching this movie when i saw it in the theatre, the ending hit me especially hard. Along with the 4 horsemen thing I also kinda got a savior/messiah image from Eric and a punisher/condemner image from Andrew. especially with their discussion of if humanity was worth it or not. Also Bautista's acting was really great too, he really sold the gentle giant character who has to do something that he really doesnt want to.
“Not the least qualified wizard breaking into my house.” Leave Ronald alone 😂😭😭 Happy Birthday Month 🥳🎉🎂🎈🎊 do what you need to do in order to enjoy!!❤️🍷
You take the words right outta my mouth Alanda! Daddy Eric was a martyr but I really wanted him to be on the same page as Daddy Andrew bc anybody else put that in that predicament is gonna say "screw the world! Just it just be us and our daughter" cause that's what i woulda said.. that's why i like the movie weathering with you bc if I'm the chosen i need to be knowing that ahead of time but springing that on me out the blue is not gonna produce the best results! 😂 I love how daddy andrew and win were debating with the radio at the end and Daddy Andrew is indeed A HUSBAND! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I would love to see more M. Night reactions! Split is pretty good but I would also love if you rewatched some of his weirder stuff like the happening 😂
Idk if you have seen "DEVIL" where these people are trapped on an elevator the entire movie it's one of my nights most underrated movies with a good twist it's pure insanity one of my favorites for sure next to signs even though signs when I saw that as a kid really messed me up lol 😂
@@tocraneandcrane she just started watching horror like this two years ago so I don't think she has seen it. It's a crazy movie one of my nights best for sure
Alanda, girl. You're so pure, precious, pretty, and effortlessly hilarious. I honestly believe it would be impossible to be in a bad mood while watching your reactions. ☺️ Keep doing you and I'mma keep supporting it. Hope last week was great and this one will be also. 🖤
Why does the antagonists introducing themselves sound like something said at a support group? Am I the only one who finds this hilarious and creepy, at the same time? 😂
I really enjoyed this film and your reaction. Happy that Andrew lived as he had me invested the whole time. Alanda's line about the least qualified-wizard was hilarious
"this is homophobic" I felt that. I really felt that. how horribly unfair and I am not sure I would even be able to make such a choice. this movie was awesome but also made me feel like a piece of shit. As a gay man nearly 40, I have to admit; I have little kinds left for those not in my heart already. I am still thinking about this movie and I feel really awful.Cuz...am I a horrible person? cuz I couldn't or didn't know if I could give something up? my heart hurts. Thanks Auntie, you are amazing!!
This movie is implied to any relationship tho. They were the ones chosen to decide the fate of the world. It was quite obvious the 4 horsemen have been doing this a few times through out history. This was modern so the chances it was a gay couple with an adopted kid wasn't a surprise. It has nothing to do with being gay or straight, just a difficult decision and the willingness to sacrafice to save the world. Most people would have the same difficult decision.
@@Killercoldice22 you do realize that being a gay is hard already, much more meeting the love of your life whom you've built a family with. Its literally protrayed in the movie how they've had to face struggles straight couples won't (family leaving 45 mins later, lying that your spouse is your brother, getting attacked in public). So yes, this movie being about same sex couples is vital and shouldn't be swept under the rug like that
hey there, i can relate to your comment so much, like that's exactly how i felt watching this movie and i've just rewatched it because i really enjoyed the actors' work especially Groff, a guy i enjoy watching from MindHunter and Brodway pieces, but also as a .bissexual/questioning woman if i were to choose between someone i love or my kids and the whole 7.5 billion people in the world i honestly do not know what i would do, feeling very selfish and even silly for this at times. Anyway it's a good movie in my opinion despite this detail on the plot, Shyamalan still has it in him for horror movies and i love that he was bold enough to choose to portray a gay couple for what i think is the first time(?) in the Hollywood filmmaking machine for this genre.
I understand not wanting to see our precious Mr Tumnus being a bad guy, but I highly suggest Split if just to watch James McAvoy's acting chops. He's amazing and unsettling to watch.
I much prefer the books ending better , but I do respect the ending Night went with. He put his own ideals into it, which I personally don't subscribe to but still worked well. Normal for an adaptation, so was not surprised much by the ending change. I saw this in theaters, and for me it was a movie that had to stew. Once it did I liked it much more, it was cool to see him try something like this. Devil was probably the closest thing similar to this one.
@@Stanaespa4 The daughter accidentally gets shot and dies. The fathers won’t sacrifice either one of them because they refuse to live in a world where God does not accept their innocent daughter as a good enough sacrifice.
I’m looking forward to this reaction! Are there any updates are when you are going to continue the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise? You only have one more “bad” sequel left before Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, which I’m sure you will enjoy!
Happy Birthday month!! Live it up and celebrate yourself, even if you miss a week! 🎉🎉 P.s… but please never leave us because we love watching movies with you each week! 😂❤ Thank you for all the time you put into making us laugh and having some fun, positive energy to look forward to each week.
This is the perfect Friday night surprise, bless you for gifting us. The book was absolutely phenomenal! The changes in this movie are... meh. Please do Split -it's one of my favorite films of his and much deeper than you'd expect. Would also love to see your reaction to The Descent and House of Wax!
I will say that the thing I don’t love about the ending change is that it proves the crazy people (or Four Horsemen) right, where the book ends with the gay couple staying together and deciding to face whatever may come (it ends ambiguously). The one change I knew he would make was the one involving what happens to Wen, which I didn’t mind that he changed. It’s well made and well acted, but the ending does kind of leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
100% agree. The ending changes the tone and implications of the story entirely and leans into gay trauma/sacrifice instead. The book ending is still sad but it’s really about queer rage and rejecting this sadistic Old Testament god. That’s the energy we need for pride 🏳️🌈 not dying for the good of the world 🙄
@@peyotebrittaeahhhhh like I know the book’s author isn’t gay, and neither is M. Night, and I’d be curious to know if any of the writers on this script were, but I feel like I’d connect to this story so much more if even one of the writers who have ever worked on it were queer. They just don’t understand queer rage like we do and so the ending falls flat, it’s the horror movie version of a Disney channel ending.
@@Psyfoob The ending left a bad taste in my mouth, too... One that got worse the longer I sat with it. I like some of M. Night’s movies... But I found the changes he made here to be problematic. Then again, many of his movies are problematic. He has this annoying tendency to misrepresent (and weaponize) mental illness... He does it in Split with Dissociative Identity Disorder. He does it in both The Village (Adrien Brody's character) and in Old (the schizophrenic Dr.) too. He also does it in The Visit. He's been called out on it so many times, yet continues to do it... So, yeah. It has just become annoying and frustrating at this point. ✌🏼
You didn’t even have to finish the video cousin roflmao!!!! “Not the least qualified wizard at my door…” my guy!!! I fell out I didn’t need anything else roflmao
The ending of the movie at least had a happier? ending than the devastating ending of the book (MAJOR SPOILERS): At the end of the book Wen is accidentally shot and killed in the fight over the gun between Andrew and Leonard. Leonard is horrified and wracked with guilt but is not sure if the sacrifice will count. Sabrina decides enough is enough and kills Leonard before offering to lead Andrew and Eric to the truck. However, when they get there, Sabrina shoots herself (it is never revealed if she does it of her own volition or if some entity behind this is controlling her). Then Eric offers to be the sacrifice by pointing the gun at himself, fully convinced it's real. Andrew talks him down and convinces him no matter what that the family will not hurt each other and they will go on. And...that's it. That’s where the book ends. It's never revealed whether the apocalypse scenario was real or not and the reader is left to make up their own minds about everything that just happened.
I was gonna see this movie in theatres but I waited cause if I did I knew I would have to close my eyes and cover my ears when they start playing the Scream VI trailer since it’s a horror movie, cause I only watched the teaser so I can see the movie without knowing too much 😂😂. If I remember correctly after I watched Scream VI they were no longer playing it, which is weird cause they usually play films for at least 2 to 3 months.
6:35 You know what I never thought of in so many horror movies it's the dad/husband that doesn't believe something horror related is going down, now there's two of them lmao
I cried watching this! This was very hard on my heart being a Same Gender Lover. I was left like are GAY people not allowed to have love on this Earth and if we do "The 4 Horseman" are gonna come and tell us we must make a decision. With all other religions in the world, why does Christianity have to be mocked or viewed in this light.
Christianity is the most powerful religion in the modern world, and the most well known in the US. So you’ll have a bigger audience if you talk about Christianity. Don’t worry, they still have a whole lot of power. And influence.
Yay🎉❤❤ I was just getting ready for bed, looking for something besides constant Golden Girls to watch... And here comes my TRULY GOLDEN horror-movie-watching friend (in my head 😂), saving me from the mundane. Can't wait to see what you thought of the movie. Personally, I was not pleased. A'tall. But I know I'ma be pleased watching 👑 Alanda Parker watch it! Much light and love, to you and all who wish to receive. 🙏🏻🌈💜 And PS, yes, I liked the fight Daddy Andrew had in him ... He’s like - my wrists may be a lil’ bent but my fists swing real straight, okay!?! 😉😂
You had me cackling with this one. My reactions were exactly yours when I first saw this. I cannot wait until The Blackening is streaming because I know I’ll be on the floor when you react to it.
I think this might be the first movie I watched with my boyfriend after we made it official that left both of us sitting there like…”what the fuck?” We knew going in that M. Night is a sink or swim, but we both enjoyed it, even though it was devastating. He’s gonna choke laughing when he hears your Ron Weasley line, though. I can’t wait to show him. 😂😂😂
Once you watch “Split” you will look at the first scene here completely differently. I was so creeped out I had to question if I was going to finish watching.
I was so hoping this video was coming! I went into this movie, not having any prior knowledge of what it was about, and I really was afraid of how Dave Bautista was portrayed in the beginning. I was really scared that first interaction was going to turn into something nefarious. 😂 Happy it didn't but, this is my new faves by M. Night (i'm not even going to begin to try to attempt his last name). It's so good! Also, loved seeing Dave in a bit of a softer role. I hope that man doesn't get type casted as the big tough guy, like the Rock. I hope Hollywood doesn't pigeon-hole him!
I would LOVE a reaction to "SPLIT." (Um, without getting too specific, I'd first just like to make sure you're truly familiar with Shyamalan's earlier movies. I think you'd get more out of "Split" with, uh, that familiarity.)
I seem to remember doing laundry while watching this movie so I was kinda in and out but I did enjoy it. Specifically the last scene with the radio was an excellent touch.
@@harold6892 *SPOILER WARNING* You know when it gets to the part in the movie where they’re wrestling over the gun? Well in the book during the struggle the gun ends up going off, and poor Wen gets shot and dies :( And I believe if I remember correctly that with her death (even though accidental) it saves everyone like with the one Daddy’s sacrifice :(
Love your videos :) I have my routine now of seeing what the movie will be before watching it if I’ve never seen it before and then watching your video with my little snack and drink.. love your reactions will def keep coming back for more .. also rewatching your vids when I’m having a bad day to cheer me up ❤❤ thank you very much
Loved this!!! I wish you would revisit and finish the nightmare on elm street franchise and Friday the 13th series. Love the crossover between the two and you’ll love that Nancy is back in New Nightmare. She plays her real self and Nancy Thompson. So good you’d be proud to see Nancy again
I was watching a video on this movie, and the RU-vidr said 'Johnathon Groff isn't singing 'You'll Be Back,' but he'll be killed by friends and family to remind you of his love'
I love many of the M Night movies. I enjoy them even if they are bad. This one isn’t great but I’ve actually enjoyed this one more by watching people react to it. Lol
Could you watch the movie "black phone" sometime? Its a great thriller movie. I'd love to see your reaction. It's up to you ofc, but its a great movie. I think you would like it. Hope you're doing well and love your videos.
Was catching up on your vids that I missed out on and was just about to go to bed, but you gotta know I'm watching this before I knock out for the night!
the fucked up thing is that, if you think about it, they were actually picked bc of who they were. since O'Bannon is the one who gathered everyone together. this is a huge reason im like 🥴 about this movie as a gay dude bc it feels so weird with that as well as the ending.
I can’t remember their names but the concussed one was definitely more the believer type and the alpha zaddy was more a skeptic and non believer. As a gay, and a somewhat religious person, I loved this film.
1:46 That is exactly why M. Night Shyamalan is one of my favorite filmmakers. Whether his movies are genuinely good or genuinely terrible, they are always a riveting watch. LOL I don't think this is one of his best ones but I still thought it was on the better side of his filmography. I loved the choice of getting Dave Bautista to play Leonard. I enjoyed the book ending more, but I didn't hate the route the movie took either.
I never watched this movie because Rupert Grint is in it and i knew he would be one of the "bad guys" and i really just didn't want to see him do bad. Also, i would let myself be sacrificed because the pain and devastation would be worse on them than my death
Watching this reactionn haven’t seen the movie but watching it with youu I’m late but I’m excited to watch this one with youu ❤ love ya alandaa and hope you’ve had a good weekk🫶🫶
