She only got vocal after Hitchcock's death. None of the other actresses, that worked with Hitchcock have come up. Eva Marie Saint, Ingrid Bergman, Kim Novak, Grace Kelly, Vera Miles, Janet Leigh or even Shirley MacLaine.
@@AA-sn9lz yes, that's why I admire her even more because most women won't speak up and that's a shame. I mean geez all girl wants to be able to do her job. I want to go to the office but I don't want to square and everyone in there or probably not even one!... LOL when they hol When these guys try to force themselves on you, just messing with your next meal and they know that
@@AA-sn9lz That's because nothing happened to them. They were all professional and got along with Hitchcock both on and off set. Grace Kelly in particular was a very close friend to him and his wife and would regularly have lunch with them at their place. Even after she became a Princess, she still once a year along with her royal husband caught up with them.
Tippi is so right. It's absolutely horrible to have someone sexually attack you who you have NO interest in. She did the right thing. I've seen the movie "The Girl".
So naive :) How do you know its true? With the amount of lies and false claims these days, you cannot just accept words. You need evidence. This was most probably a feminist financed documentary, pay her to say these words and tarnish Alfreds name. His estate and family can sue her for this.
I can a be a huge fan of Hitch the director and still accept that he was maybe not a good person in real life. Got to watch out for that worshiping of people just because they were famous.
Be careful believing what people put in their autobiographies about now deceased people they had a run in with. From the biographies I've seen about Hitchcock he would obsess over blonds but actual sex with them was off the table. He clearly had a voyeuristic obsession first with Grace Kelly and then Hedren. The truth is probably much more nuanced and complicated. There's no record of sexual aggression with any of the many other women Hitckcock worked with.
That's absolutely defiling & terrible. No woman should have to go through that. She is such a strong lady ❤️I'm glad she's come off a severely traumatising experience stronger & greater than ever!
Told Larry King in an interview some time before this if he had ever laid a hand on her, she said: "oh, nothing like that..." You can chalk this up to the man being dead, and her needing to juice up her book. What Alfred did was, after doing a couple movies together, he had probably fallen for her. And he waited until the end of the second movie to make a pass. She rebuffed, and he was perhaps upset. We can not know exactly what happened, but she had always been open about it, but with a different slant when writing the book.
So says Tippi the crazy cat lady. She did that cat movie Roar in which she allowed her daughter to be put in harms way and then has the nerve to vilify Hitchcock. OK.
@@Garsons-oq4lh LOL...you mean ROAR the most dangerous movie ever made? as far as her dealings with Hitchcock I have heard stories from other actresses that he had a thing for blonds and may have harrassed them on set, But i like to call this the MOMMIE DEAREST effect, you write the book and do interviews way after the man is long dead and he is not here to defend himself.
This really doesn't surprise me.Hitchcock really did seem to have a thing for blondes....Its a shame he was like that because he was so brilliant. She is still absolutely gorgeous after all this time.
But you're forgetting Tippy Hedron was a 33 year old mother when she made her first film with Hitch. He gave her a big break into stardom in an era when even a 30 something woman was considered almost past her prime.
AUser0000001 I have to agree with you. I just watch the movie for the first time and loved it. Had to look her up didn't know she is Melanie mom..and that was Melanie was young Mel in the movie. Tippi look younger than het daughter mel as of today. She is a nice looking woman even at her older age. Wow.
@@meadeskelton3350 His sexual envy and sadistic revenge for their ignores and jilts of him. Victimizing them gave him as director complete control of their fates.
@@mja91352. you obviously should look at the person's name on RU-vid comments. To many on RU-vid, english is a second language. I only pull them up for spelling if they have english sounding names.
Dear tippi. Thank you this was this reason i gave up my chance to act. I didnt want to be subjected to this kind of terror. I went as far as i could. Untill i was 18. I started to see the dark side..i had no regrets..thx for speaking up for all actresses..bless you
I salute Tippi Hedren for sticking up for herself. That she worked for Hitchcock in no way obligated her to engage in sex with him! I have read that Hitchcock sent her daughter a "gift" that was a doll made to look like Tippi -- in a little coffin. Hitchcock also engaged in practical jokes that were actually acts of viciousness. He slipped alcohol in the beverage of a woman who said she didn't want alcohol because she was allergic to it. He also trapped an actress in a phone booth contraption that he filled with smoke. The worst by far is that he made a "bet" with a humble property man by which he handcuffed the man to a camera and gave him a drink laced with a powerful laxative so the poor violated man spent the whole night befouling himself.
No, it's obvious from the color that it's the fake blood. The idiot shouldn't have said that. It is true, though, that Hitch did use real birds on her for that scene and that it was traumatic for her. It was his way of getting revenge for her rejecting him.
So proud this is getting out, but always has been in the domain. He never ruined this elegant, amazing lady her legacy is still going, so proud of her, her daughter and granddaughter. Well done ladies!!!!
Of course, she starred in the Hitchcock's movie "Marnie" which came out in 1964......after the "Birds" was made. So, obviously, he didn't destroy her career after the "Birds". So, what gives? Hitchcock isn't here to defend himself.
Just remember Alfred is not here to defend himself. We all thought Johnny Depp was guilty.. im not saying she is lying she may be telling the truth but we dont know for sure so dont go calling him an abuser with no proof
One thing I don´t understand... Tippi always said Hitchcock only made his advances near the end of Marnie... so, how come the voiceover from Inside Edition says Hitchcock relatialed with live birds in The Birds? The Birds was made before Marnie
Hmmm.... but she made another movie with him afterward. "The industry is so terrible I'm Out!" Proceeds to let her daughter and granddaughter be actresses. Weird.
Regardless of whether anything happened like she says or not, that is NOT "real blood" on her face in the scene with the birds... come on....! And the "assault" happened later during "Marnie." Not "The Birds." Their association was reasonable during "The Birds" but escalated poorly during "Marnie." Inside Edition is interested in one thing only: sensationalizing everything they can.
When I looked at it thought the same thing the blood doesn't look like real blood it's far too bright. And her face didn't look terrified or shocked in that scene. I believe Inside edition is trying to sensationalise it.
A professional obligation for an actor, which itself promotes their films and continues revenues, royalties and fame for all who participated in creating his films.
This is so sad. I won't be able to watch the movie "Marnie" and the "The Birds" the same way after hearing about this. Good on her for speaking out about this! I hope she healed from this.
She's so sweet. And sadly correct. It is a scary thing to he the object of a man's eye who have personalities like his. If only he could see her family's amazing success now. He didn't ruin her or her career. She didn't let him.
I wasn't there so don't know but, yes, that hilarity they added about the birds supposedly bloodying her face up like that makes this smell like bull 💩.
Because they like to keep making movies. "You got to go along, to get along" He wasn't used to being rejected. The NERVE. Although he was clearly never a good looking man.
@@Lennonlover06 Yes Ingrid famously tried to sleep with Hitchcock but he couldn't get it up so eventually *she* gave up. Ingrid Bergman wanted what Tippi Hedren did not want and therefore had no problem with Hitchcock.
She stood up for herself and got her own back through her daughter and granddaughter. It only shows it can be done and you can say no... you do what you have to do! More important things than a career, anyway. True to his word, AH did destroy her prospects but only proved her to be right. He was truly a psycho and she recognised and called him out by telling him that in his face to do what he needs to do. That's how you do it and talk to someone who is insane. He was obsessed and wouldn't stop at nothing to either control or destroy her. Fortunately, she managed to save herself and her dignity and self respect. Not only brave but wise and dignified. She didn't yes to the Weinstein of Hollywood at the time! Well done... RIP
No, they used fake blood for the birds, but she also got scratched. They told her they were going to use fake birds, but she realized they never were. There wasn't a "substitution." Listen to Tippi and ignore the announcer. He was handsy but didn't have actual sex with his stars, he was celibate from his late 20s, which is probably why he was sex-obsessed.
Tippi is still beautiful...she may have had a little face work but it looks good. Her daughter Melanie though..not so great. Wish these lovely ladies would for the most part age gracefully. I'd even have a little touch up if I could afford but I'd be darned careful! Both talented actors.
Yes I would rather look like the way Tippi Hedren does rather than what Melanie Griffith has done ... poor Melanie I hope she can find a good cosmetic surgeon who can reverse some of this and bring her face back into balance ... I do believe it can be done if she goes to the right one
@@roach7017 , plastic surgeries messed up her face, "getting older" or not! Period. Her mom, Tippi, "got older" before her and still has a more "natural" look and beauty.
Lies, lies, lies!!! Asked in an interview with Larry King, just before this time, if he had ever laid a hand on her: "oh, no, nothing like that!" So, which the hell is it? Or did you just need to sell some books? Bloody hell...
She's a jerk. Alfred Hitchcock was the greatest director!! Mr. Hitchcock is no longer alive to defend himself. How long does it take a person to forgive??
Funny how Hedron was so traumatized by Hitchcock’s advances that she made a career of discussing it while maintaining the same hairstyle she wore in “The Birds,” the very film in which she claims to have been sexually harassed and tortured. Yeah, that’s what I’d do.
i believe her, but also she made a movie called "roar" about lions, and there were 70 animal attacks on set, so i'm not sure i feel bad about her getting pecked by a bird
She's still beautiful ❤️ And I had no idea Melanie was her daughter and that Dakota was her granddaughter! In the end .... she won 😌 He told her he'd ruin her career, yet Her legacy lives on! Love it!
Nice story, but if the birds actually attacked you and it was all real blood. Why would you then agree to be in Marnie a movie that came out after the Birds. Nice try to spice up your book though.
1: She was scheduled/contracted to appear in Marnie and it's still a job at the end of the day. 2: Directors and producers were able to get away with just about anything, look into the behind the scenes of the wizard of Oz and all the horror stories that came out that movie alone. Actors were pretty much just play things to most directors FYI that era who had way more power and control which is why you also have stories of guys like Kubrick physically and mentally tormenting they're own cast. All that wouldn't change till John Landis took it too far in the twilight zone movie.
@@plshelpmeawkdough Don´t forget there is not one single producer in Hollywood who made his cast and crew suffer as much as that Lady Tippi Hedren did as a producer of ROAR ! Hedren says Hitchcock was a monster because he threw birds at her...well Hedren produced ROAR! and there were around 70 horrible attacks on cast and crew, her daughter was bitten in the face by a lion, her husband almost killed, the DP hurt horribly by one of the lions. She herself had been bitten by a lion in the head and brutally attacked by an elephant. And she went on and on exposing her family and crew to her big cats. But Mr. Hitchcock is a monster because one of the Birds scratched her cheek??? Hedren has to be judged according to her own standards. And as a producer of ROAR ! she was responsible for much more horrible animal attacks than the ones in The Birds.
I like this lady, she spoke up the proper way, and didn’t go on a wild witch hunt to destroy Hitchcock. She just said that he did bad things to her that we should know about. I hope she feels better.
I disagree. She should have been able to speak up sooner but couldn't because of the culture and era. Staying quiet allowed him to sexually assault others and allowed that kind of behavior to continue in Hollywood and the world. I'm definitely not blaming her but society for not taking sex crimes more seriously. I don't agree with this "act like a lady and stay quiet" concept which leads to most sex crimes going unreported. It would not be a "witch hunt" but reporting a crime and actively seeking justice. The fact he was well-known should be irrelevant. Though he threatened to ruin her career, why shouldn't she return the favor?
@@rosali891 So says Tippi the crazy cat lady. I speak of the disaster that was and still is the movie Roar. This crazy lady allowed her daughter to be put in harms way and then has the nerve to vilify Hitchcock. OK.
it's so unfair to make these allegations against someone who can't defend themselves. why didn't she bring this up while Mr. Hitchcock was alive? I mean after all it wasn't as if she was a child, she was an adult who could have defended herself against any retaliation that Mr. Hitchcock could have done
It is hard to believe her story when Mr. Hitchcock is not around to tell us the whole story. She might be right about him but could also be she is trying to resurrect herself from the coffins of her publicity. No one knows for sure.
@@twomindz79 a lot like a woman who would accuse a man of something that hundreds of more beautiful women who worked for him never did. I smell a liar.

So Dakota's granma refuse to be sexually assaulted by Hollywood and Dakota kick starts her career with a sexually perverse movie as a sex symbol. Such wicked satire.
That complete bull about that not being fake blood doesn't help the overall credibility here. Not saying she wasn't "pecked in the face" at all but to imply that it drew the "blood" seen all over her face, give me a break.
The irony is Hitch's films had very little sex in them, however Tippi's granddaughter was in literally the worst sex film ever...yes worse than Showgirls! .
I want to believe her but it’s so weird that she waited so long after Hitchcocks death to say anything. He died in the 80s I think. Just seems so random to say anything forty years later you know? Why not claim these things right after his death. Or even better while the man was alive so he had a chance to defend himself or even potentially stand trial.
