Hi friends, in this video I share 3 basic methods for colorwork in crochet along with tips to get you started. If you'd like a more in depth tutorial on any of the techniques seen in the video, please let me know! xx

I really appreciate this video so much. I am a beginner, who is still working on keeping my tension even and not loosing my stitches 😅. I love learning about different methods of crochet, knitting, and sewing. I would love a more detailed video on the tapestry crochet. Do you think tapestry crochet could be used to make a blanket?
@PlayHookywithMe
@PlayHookywithMe 2 месяца назад
@@MysteriousVampLover that’s great 😀 and yes, absolutely you can work tapestry for a full blanket. You can even do it with bigger stitches like dc’s if you prefer. The only thing to keep in mind is that you use more yarn since you’re carrying it but you might find it’s worth it not to deal with all the ends to weave in later . 💕

Thanks for the video, it was very enlightening!!! I'd love to know more details and tips about these techniques!! I make amigurumi, so I have little experience with these techniques. I would love to know how to work these techniques in amigurumi, specialy in spiral rounds or closing rows that will be filled later (like a little globe, thtat I had tested sometimes). Thank you very much for sharing these videos!

Hello Roz... As always i look forward to and love all your tutorials... i enjoyed this one today because you explained how to read a chart because following that technique from a pattern always confuses me especially when there's a language barrier . Now with your perfect explanation and chart who can go wrong? Love ❤❤❤❤ . Have a great day and remainder of the week with the boys .

I recently completed a koozie that was an American flag, so stripes and then white “stars” on the blue background. The pattern didn’t say so, but I recognize now that the carrying of the white in that portion was the Fair Isle type (loose, picking up and carrying the white every few stitches) as it would not be seen.

Iam terrible with this method of crochet. I understand it's on a grid but my projects come out distorted and don't look anything like the grid . I do carry my yarn and it looks terrible. Thanks for sharing and simplified.
@PlayHookywithMe

I understand. It’s next to impossible to get it to look like the graph if you’re working flatly and turning after every row. Stitches simply don’t stay upright. The only way to get it to look really great is to always work on the front side and even moreso if you work in the back loop only. If you’re working flat, that means you’ll have to begin and end every row on the front and cut your yarn. Lots of tails but you can turn it into a fringe. But I do have a hack for that . I’ve added a video at the end of this one but it is better used on smaller projects . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MwtXtgOCK7o.htmlsi=vBQI_MVIrMjvIMQx

@@debrawolleycrochet mine didn’t look like the grid either, Debra! You’re being too hard on yourself but I do appreciate your kind words and practice is the key, you’re so right ❤️

I enjoy your videos BUT it is very confusing to watch your intarsia and floating when you go back and forth showing two ways to make the stitches when trying to learn. If you made one video with all one method and another video with all the second method and then the croucher could select which method works best for them. Then we would not have to decide mid work which is best for the individual. Thanks for your considerations for this.
