While putting loctite on my fin screws I seem to have seeped some over into the hinging spots in between, and was just wondering what product you would recommend for cleaning them out so they move smoothly again
@KRSabers
@KRSabers 2 года назад
Loctite can be cleaned with a solvent so something like Acetone will clean it up. Best to get a cue tip, soak in the acetone and rub the area where it has seeped 👍👍

Hey Khal, obviously I don’t want grease all over my hand whenever I pick up my saber, so how would you recommend cleaning the outside of the saber after we’ve greased the internals should they (which they probably will) get grease on them?
@KRSabers
@KRSabers 2 года назад
The grease only needs applying to the inside surfaces of the parts. Not the outside. Grease won’t be all over your hands whenever you pickup the Saber. Also, silicone lubricant isn’t the typical kind of thick ‘goopy’ grease people think of when they hear the word ‘grease’. It’s very low viscosity and almost like window cleaner if that makes sense? 😅 Once you have applied silicone lubricant to the mechanism parts as shown in the video, using some paper towels or tissue to wipe away any excess will work great 👍

If you've had two screws come loose on a single arm (and the petal has detached from the arm), what's the recommended way of reseating the screws?
@KRSabers
@KRSabers 6 месяцев назад
Screw them back in and once you can’t screw any further, slightly back out a quarter turn or so. This gives the space for the petal to still be able to move. Then, as recommended in the video, best to apply some blue Loctite to the threads.

@@KRSabers Thanks, but I can't get the arm and petal to stay aligned in order to allow the screws to be inserted and the tightened
@KRSabers
@KRSabers 6 месяцев назад
@@rob1uk82 You’d have to disassemble the entire upper assembly then. 👍

❤️ So you have a better estimate of when the weathered hilts will ship yet?
@KRSabers
@KRSabers 2 года назад
Josh from Multiverse Props is making great progress working his way through them :) He’s actually finished a small batch of them now, so a handful will ship out soon. I’d say another batch will go out in Feb with the remaining being all shipped during March and early April ;)

I've seen you post elsewhere that the mechanism needs a fair bit of free play to work properly, but in this video you suggest Loctite on the pins. I have a few that slide out that I want to Loctite but I wanted to confirm that won't seize up the mechanism. Also how do you go about preventing blue glue showing on these exposed parts?
@KRSabers
@KRSabers 2 года назад
Please watch and listen to the video carefully. Locite threadlocker isn’t glue. It just adds a thin layer of material to create more friction on the threads of whatever screw it is applied to. Reducing the risk of coming loose from vibrations etc. You don’t see any exposed threads of screws on the hilt so you won’t see any blue. Plus, you can just wipe away the excess Loctite with tissue as I do briefly in the video. 👍

@@KRSabers Thank you! My mistake, I always thought Loctite was just a thin glue used for sealing threads. I’ll give it a go.

Pre-orders closed on January 31st. We should have spare kits listed in 2-3 months after the pre-orders are finished.

Hello @KR Sabers, I discovered you yesterday with this video. It's a pity that there are no more of these "Scavenger" kits because I would have bought one. You say you will have some in 2-3 months, but are you sure? If not, do you have other social networks where you will announce when there will be back in stock (if they will)? Sorry if you have already answered this in your other message I am not an English speaker. This message is Google translated.
